[Q] Where to buy BH6X? - Motorola Droid X2

I dont want to get a bad batch, or a way too cheap, fake 1 time use or one that dies out over a short period of time. I also dont want to pay $50 from Verizon if I can help it lol. Where can I get one? Thanks in advance.

I was only able to get one from Motorola by complaining about the problem with the newer one. Maybe you can find a vendor that'd be kind of enough to read off the batch number on the back? As long as you buy from a mobile shop on Amazon you should get a real one.

Both amazon and ebay failed for me, i ended up buying one at a verizon store after having 5+ garbage batteries delivered
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA

Ive looked on Amazon and all the reviews are half n half. For the mobile shops too, even if the batch is good. I am a little uncertain about Amazon and Ebay bc of the mixed reviews and low prices etc.

Sorry, I meant Amazon vendors seem to stock official batteries, but you should ask them to check the batch number first.
One reviewer seems to have had luck asking for the correct version from Orion Gadgets, if you can handle the price: http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Droi...FRD9WRQL1FII&s=generic&qid=1339085643&sr=1-24

Yea I was looking at that guys batteries, but it just seems like all the reviews for everyone on Amazon are good and bad at about 50%.

I just got off the phone with Motorola and they are sending me a new battery after complaining about the battery bug. I tried to explain it Was a problem with the software but they insisted I try a new battery so hey free battery from moto.

batteries are covered for one year, if they come with or you buy from Verizon. If you have insurance, they are covered for life!

Sooo how did you get a droid 2 as a warranty exchange? what was wrong with the original phone? I have the trackball issue on my wife's phone and was considering talking to verizon about getting her a new phone.

I had this issue and they gave me a refurbished Eris on the spot. I wouldn't hold your breath for a D2, haha.
I had a total of 5 Eris phones - the last two had hardware issues (bad volume rocker, broken speaker) - I very calmly requested some sort of replacement phone as I had tried so many of the Eris with no luck - the operator I got was very helpful - I asked if the Droid 1 was a candidate, thinking that since it has been discontinued they would have some refurbs in stock - when she looked for it, she came up with a Droid 2 - they had to send the battery & back separately, but I'm pretty sure the phone itself was new (no refurb date sticker on the back) - she knew there were a lot of issues with the Eris, and again I wasn't angry or combative with he and all worked out -I am due for my New Every Two upgrade this month, but wasn't really set on which phone I wanted (x is huge, incredible seems less well built and maybe old news) - funny I never considered the Droid 2 as a candidate, but his thing is really nice - don't overlook it when considering your next phone - I may end up keeping it for a while until the next round of Android phones hits VZW -

I went round and round with verizon all night about this stupid crap with silent calls my last eris gets them all the time. So I finally called in complained tech support wanted to t/s with stuff I've already done factory reset reboot. Guy told me he could send out another eris that was double checked blah blah blah. I asked if there was anything else that could be done because I have already read up and its a common problem I've found online after the Eris received the 2.1 update. He wouldnt do anything else after pleading my case said there were no other refurbs.
So I got of the phone with him and called back and got over to a retention agent told them I was going to cancel my plans because the last person did not help etc. She was polite and acted like she was helping when in reality I think she just put me on hold hoping I would hang up at one point I was on hold for over 7 minutes without her coming back. She came back and gave me a pity story on how she wished she could send out another phone like the incredible or droid 2 but they just dont have all the parts and it would be to hard to find. She acted like should would be packing the damn box which I know is not the case. I asked if it was possible they had a first Gen Moto droid and she said they no longer carry those because they are getting ready to be discontinued as well.
So last thing I did was send a pretty long email to verizon hoping to hear back some time this morning will post the results. Its crazy they act like the silent bug and trackball scrolling are not issues when I have read about it multiple times throughout other forums and even have owned 2 phones with trackball scrolling issue. My newest phone will even some how type letters when its laid face down or face up on most surfaces.

thats weird , i called cause i was haven issues and i talked them into just renewing my contract and got a droid x and i had a yr left on my contract
So you guys, Tazz and Jack, still had to pay a discounted price for this replacement right? Not just given to you out of the goodness of Verizon's heart?
I think it depends on who you get on the phone with. I am on phone number 5 now. The previous phone came bad out of the box and the previous 3 all had the mute call problem. When I called to get this one I asked very politely if there was any way I could get a different phone since the Eris, while a great phone when it works, has been plagued with too many hardware issues. The tech I was speaking to got very rude with me and told me flat out that the only (he pretty much yelled when he said that word) options I had were to either accept a refurb Eris or pay for a brand new phone at retail price.
I figured I got someone who has dealt with a lot of folks trying to get a new phone by complaining about device defects so I just let it slide. My supervisor, on the other hand, called in when his started randomly rebooting and they sent him out a Droid Incredible. First phone replacement and he gets an upgrade.
The sad part is that this phone is now starting to have the trackball issue. Fun stuff, huh?

I didn't have to pay a thing - they swapped out the phones and I still preserved my New Every Two upgrade for later - I do pay the $1.99 extra per month for the extended warranty - don't know if that's why i didn't have to pay anything - it seems like you get a little further with a lower key approach instead of the loud, you owe me approach - I do believe that the operator you get does help determine how they'll handle the problem - I've always had pretty good luck with them -
Hmm I paid that 2.99 a month warranty with my last phone, vastly inferior LG Dare lol, and had to deal with a separate company named Asurion(sp?). After paying that stupid charge for over a year, they were still very reluctant to send me any kind of upgraded phone. So I didn't purchase it with this phone.
Anyway enjoy the greener pastures, Droid 2 looks pretty sweet.
Yeah I tried calling Verizon and getting a replacement for my Eris (I have silent bug and broken trackball). But all they would offer me was another Eris. When I got tech support and I told him a couple of my friends which had Eris' with problems got incredibles and D2's as replacements for free, explained that that's a lie and they probably used they're new every two because Verizon doesn't just do that. Then when I talked to a customer service operator and told her the same story she explained that, that may have happened if the tech support was out of Eris'.
So I'm thinking its just who you get from tech support, luck of the draw that they're out of Eris', and it may help if you've received a couple replacement Eris' and continued yo have issues.

I think for the most part verizon is full of crap when it comes to replacing phones. I pay 200 dollars a month and they wont even send out a moto droid first gen. I was talking to a retention agent and they were like well I would like to send out an incredible or droid 2 but we just dont have all the parts some dont have backs or batterys others dont have chargers. Weird thing was I had said nothing about wanting a newer phone at all. All I had said I would like to continue on with the android exp. I will take anyphone but the eris of course I was hoping they didnt offer the ally. I was pretty polite on the phone just getting the same story everyone I have talked to is doing pretty well when it comes to sticking to their guns currently.

Replacement

How many Droid Eris's does Verizon have to replace before they say "the hell with it" and give you a better phone? My trackball is beginning to go bad once again on me. This is only going to be like the 6th replacement that I'll be getting.
HTC is no help. I message them just to complain about the quality, and they respond back telling me to send it to them to be fixed. They obviously missed my point about not wanting another replacement Eris that will go bad on me in another 2 months.
You have to start getting hateful with Verizon. Tell them you don't want another Eris because they obviously can't send you one that works. If they don't go for it, threaten to go to att or something.

Had to send in my second Eris and they were going to send me another Eris refurb until I started getting a bit snippy. The rep I spoke with tried to convince me that her and her family all use the Droid Eris and have never had any problems. I said thats funny because I've had to replace 2 of them, I have a family member who has had to replace 1 and the forums are full of other people who have had to do the same, so why don't you stop wasting my time by continuing to do the same thing while expecting a different result. She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back to inform me that they would be sending me a Droid 2 as a replacement.

Over the phone.
Talked to Verizon yesterday and got them to send me a Droid 2 as well when I noticed trackball problems with my Eris AGAIN. Just gotta be firm and snippy with them. If the Rep wont help you, ask to talk to a supervisor.
I had to pay for a battery and battery cover for the d2 ($50), but the dude at the last minute told me he is going to discount my lines bill %10 for the next 6 months (equals out to about $66 in savings). So I'm actually getting $16 in credit in the long run.

Whoa. They threw in the battery and cover without my even having to ask. I also elected to provide feedback on a survey once the call was completed and when a manager called back to discuss my comments, she threw in a car charger at no charge as well.
So far I'm loving this D2. It's pretty friggin' sweet!
I got them to send me a Droid 2, but I had to pay $60 for the battery, the back, and the charger. But at least they are sending me a Droid 2. It should be here tomorrow from what they said. I'm going to miss the Eris though. I really liked the phone. Its just a shame that it had horrible quality in the manufacturing department.
Lol just got my d2 and the mic is busted so they have to send me another one
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
They really don't want to send out the Droid 2. They cancelled the order on my Droid 2 right after I got off the phone with them. I had to argue with them about that, and told them if they did send me another Eris, I was cancelling the next day after getting it. Messed up they cancelled that order, but not the order that I had to pay for the batter, back cover, and charger.
They are supposedly now for real sending me a Droid 2. We'll see.
My phone is working just fine.
Well if I get another droid2 that's messed up I'm going to raise hell till I get an X.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
I still can't believe they canceled the order for the Droid 2 after I got off the phone with them. They called me back to tell me they had an Eris in stock, and they weren't going to send me the Droid 2. That was on my voicemail so I called them back. They were more than willing to charge me for the "accessories" though. If they were changing their mind about sending me the Droid 2, wouldn't it make sense to cancel the order for the Droid 2's battery, charger, and back piece also. I feel it was bad business to tell me they would send it to me, then call me back to tell me they were going to send me an Eris instead. If they do send me an Eris, you'll be seeing me switch to Sprint real soon.
If they give you a Droid X, I will give you a round of applause. That would be the come up of the year, going from an Eris to a Droid X for the price of some batteries and back pieces.
Well I went from an eris to a d2. The dude said since I was buying the battery and back he would take 10% off my lines bill for the next six months, equaling about $66 all together. I would be raising hell with verizon if I were you. Have you asked to talk to a supervisor?
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
Yeah, but I'm going to call back again. Now that they canceled an order on me after agreeing to it, I have more ammunition to throw at them. If its not here by tomorrow, they really going to have to hear about it. I'm waiting until it gets here before I unroot my Eris. What is the custom rom world looking like on the Droid 2?

It's funny. I saw the posting on engadget about this, and was curious how the forum would react to it. I am intrigued. I just am not sure if :
a. I am brave enough to rip open my RAZR to perform surgery.
b. want to part with my device that long to get it upgraded.
c. want to spend more money on this device, as I have a horrible track record of changing devices after a year to 18 months, and I am almost 5 months in.

A year is an eternity with a phone. I am lucky to keep a phone for more than two months. I once switched three phones in day.
For me it mostly depends how much it costs to have them install it for me...
At a reasonable price I'd definitely look into it later on... I like to aim for 24 months of phone usage before switching and it's been only one so far...

It is piece of cake to change the battery but they are darn expensive.

But I really want a better battery life.

You no longer need to send the phone in .
They have a disclaimer that holds them harmless if you screw it up.
Anyone tried and succeeded?

I don't understand the point of shelling out 100+ dollars with a chance of killing your phone. You can buy an external battery for around 20 bux at monoprice and it can be use to charge your tablet, phone or anything that take the mini/micro usb charge.

Maxx OR something else??

Ok, I have a buddy that works at Verizon and they have an offer to upgrade your phone to 4G even if you still have time on your old phone contract. I take it they're trying to get people to move up to 4G.
Whatever the case, my wife's Dinc2 bricked on her and needs a replacement, Should fork over the the 199 for a Maxx? She basically wants the battery time (don't we all?) Im not a fan of Motorola phones, but the Maxx does have the best battery life out there.
What do you guys think??
I have a moto atrix and looove it. Its been great to me.
But the reason. I would NEVER get a razor is because it has a built in battery. You cant pull it if something freezes or if you get a bootloop. Too scary for me.
I also work at a rogers store and we've seen about 7 or 8 of these come back with hairline cracks in the screen, from either a really small.fall, or literally NOTHING at all.
Personally I'd steer clear, and I'm a moto fan!!
Sent from my MB860 using XDA
Moto designed the phone knowing that it might freeze. Holding volume down and power resets it. You can swap the battery really easy. Not like on iPhone. I can admit that even though it has gorilla glass cracks can happen and often on this phone. But the razr maxx is one of the best Android phones out there. I would strongly suggest maxx.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA Premium App
I went from the Incredible 2 to a Maxx. I don't regret it Its super durable, battery is just amazing. In the unlikely event it freezes, holding the power and volume up (or down I can't remember) will restart it. It worked for me.
tl;dr : Get the Maxx you won't regret it
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
I love my maxx...I used to have the original Razr and probably would be using it still if I didn't get a chance to pick up this maxx for cheap. Battery life is top notch on it, especially if she doesn't use it much she will love it. By far this is the most stable android phone I've ever used. Haven't had a problem with slows downs or freeze ups and I'm still rolling the stock GB OS, once ICS comes out officially it will be even better.
I say go for it, my wife wasn't at all interested in the Razr til I got her one and now she loves it. Sound quality on it is great...
motorola voice quality on some of their models (the RAZR & Defy are two of them) blows everything else away. if you care about voice quality, RAZR is the one to get. Atrix and iPhone 4 are almost, but not quite as good for voice. LG makes one decent phone for voice but i can't remember the model no. right now. Samsung phones are HORRIBLE for voice, stay far away if you like to use phones as phones.
I left the gnex for the maxx, no regrets here. Great phone. ICS real soon. Don't worry about the non removable battery, its not an issue. Hard resets (simulated battery pull) can be done as stated above.
via Razr MAXX
Love my maxx. Don't fall for the hype of it not being good or just about the battery. Go to your local store and just play w one. I am running an ics leak on mine and if its any inclination of how official will be then the RAZR maxx w ics is going to be one of the top phones. Battery life is obviously the selling point...but there are so many more great points about this phone. I have never had a freeze or a restart on gbread on 2 different ics leaks.
Ya I've never had a freeze on the stock OS, plus my wife has never complained about any problems

Hmm, thats an interesting video but let me tell you something that if you drop your phone into the water, be it any phone, a normal person cannot do it in a techy way like shown in the video and i m sure your wife would not like it, taking apart the parts of any phone to avoid damage due to water. the changes of dropping the phone into the water are minimal unless we dont care. If you really want her to be happy with any phone in the market then it is only MAXX. I have been using razr and i m in love with it to the core. Its slick, very powerful, the best beautiful design phone in the market ever made after original razr and THE DEADLY BATTERY LIFE. That video is actually for those who wants to play with their phone. And with ICS on this, it would be icing the cake. She well love it, buy it. You will not regret it.

I had it get real hot and glitch up once when I was using google NAV screen on for over an hour, had to turn the screen off let it cool and then power cycle it, but then again that was 3 weeks after I got my phone and my phone hadn't been shut off since I got it, now I make it a rule to "power cycle" my phone every other charge and I haven't had a problem since.
At this point, I would wait. The next two months should see some interesting options.
Maxx is tops though for now, if can not. If waiting for the assumed Razr HD, that will probably be end of summer.

Well i am wondering if i should wait or go ahead and get this maxx? Hearing they are going to try to get us ones that are grandfathered in to the unlimited plans to get us out with the upgrade at discounted prices makes me want to go ahead now so i can get locked in. I just hate that their is not many dev support for the maxx due to the locked boot loader. I like the dev support for the Nexus but don't want to take the gamble with the reception issues and data loss issues.
Get the RAZR Maxx no question about it.
I think the dev support will get better once we get ICS officially and dig into bit and get somewhere

No, the points in this video are for anyone interested in build quality and design. This phone was DESIGNED to be unrepairable. It was meant to be tossed and replaced, yet its one of the most expensive phones going. And MOST people (or at least I thought) here on xda were interested in modifying their phones, whether its, rooting, custom firmware etc... and the guy in the video is an elite xda member who knows these phones inside and out, programming, hardware, tthe works. Plus I work at a rogers store, have only been there since January, and have had 7 of them come back with cracked screens. And we've probably only sold about 15. Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUUUGE motor fan. But the lockind down of boot loaders, and phones like the razor, I'm slowly, and sadly, losing faith.

Razr Maxx is a fine device, if wanting to avoid soon paying full price to keep unlimited..... for now....

leaving rezound.... proximity sensor.

Not by my own choice...
I had posted some time ago about thsi Proximity Sensor issue, where I had to have the speaker of the phone basically behind my ear for the screen to stay off. Well I spoke to Verizon and they admitted that it sounds like a hardware issue and I could get a free replacement.
BUT... they wanted to offer me a LG Revolution (whut?), Thunderbolt (Even the tech laughed at this choice) or Charge (whut x 2)... and maybe a Razr standard.
I begged them to give me at least the Razr Maxx and the tech asked her supervisor 3 times, getting denied each time... finally I laid it into her and said I want to speak to a supervisor because I:
1. am a customer of 8 years,
2. have 4 lines,
3. am being treated unfairly by given the opportunity to only replace my defective item with an item of lesser quality, and
4. believe they should stand by their assurance of certified devices by ensuring they actually work as advertised.
She came back and her supervisor didn't even want to talk to me, but just to get rid of me, their giving me a 16gb Maxx... I hate leaving the Rezound but there are none left. *sigh*

Wow, **** that! Sorry to hear of your troubles..
Are there really no Rezounds left? =\
That's funny cause the charge guys that are having problems are getting offered the nexus. I got my Rezound as a replacement for my charge. I wouldn't go back. I'd call tier2 back a talk your easy into something else. Just my 2 cents.

According to her... she had NOT A SINGLE ONE LEFT...
If you go to devices on VW's site, a lot of the models are out of stock.

Damn, this sucks. I hope mine lasts now cause I still love this phone. I would NOT accept a stupid RAZR as a replacement. Its sad that Verizon would even try that..

I am one of those guys who needs his phone to be a phone more than a portable computer/gaming thingie... but I also need it to last a whole day. Which is why i would not give into the standard Razr. I also have an upgrade in September... if I really hate it we'll see what comes up in Q4 from VW.
Give them time to replenish their stock, probably wiped out from the ICS upgrade...
I got my Rezound as a replacement for the Droid Charge. Just call back and get another person. They have call centers all over the country and each have different supplies. The next person you talk to will probably have a Rezound.

I got a free replacement from the rez to nexus a month ago and I really don't know why you guys are so reluctant to switch to anything else. To be honest the only thing I miss from the rez is the camera and the fantastic radios, other than that the nexus is a lot nicer imo, especially with a 2150mah extended battery.
If you're really that hell bent on getting another rez replacement then why not tell the idiot tier 2 reps that you barely get through the day on a 3800mah battery on the rezound and a razr just won't cut it for you, get them to send you a razr maxx and sell it and buy the rezound and make some profit.

Because we like the phone lol.
Radios and camera plus no tinting or whatever just seems like a better thing imo.

Tint can be fixed with screen tweaks, and there are other features on the nexus or other verizon devices that make it surpass the rezound in many ways.
I hate that stupid sensor. Took 4 phones to get one that actually worked right. The reps kept telling me that ics changed this feature and it doesn't work anymore. :banghead:

I recall reading somewhere that the sensor can come unglued and thereby block proper signal reception. Whatever the case, overall the Rezound has been my favorite phone. I've had the Eris, the Incredible, the Incredible 2, the Galaxy Nexus, and the Rezound.
Like I said, I have an upgrade this September. I am sure, whether it's this Q4, or the first in 2013, there will be other phones released.

Rezound has probably the BEST camera on VZW right now. GNEX camera sucks, as do the radios.
When my wife's Tbolt went bad a few weeks ago, we got to choose the warranty replacement phone and we went for the Rezound. I don't have to tweak anything to get the display to look good and the camera is amazing.

No, the galaxy s3 has the best camera on verizon right now and what's wrong with taping 2 things on the official build 1 release of AOKP to make the screen have the deepest blacks and true whites making it a better looking screen than the rezound? And have you tried jellybean on the nexus or the s3? Once you go butter, you never go back.

On the whole I agree... but this tech was on the phoen maybe 25 minutes and kept pushing for the like-priced replacement, so kudos to her. Her name was Alex.

You get her number?
Jk.
It all matters which rep you get. Some are great, some just need to go die in a hole.

It is what it is. Obviously some people like the Rezound more, hence some switching back. I'm glad you made the right decision for you though.

On a side note - I called VW to confirm it's been delivered - the guy who answered said:
Tech: Can I get your phone number?
Me; ***-***-****
Tech: YOU THE MAAAAAN!!!"
