"This is going to hurt me more than you!"
I guess to actually tribute I have torn my phone down before to color the capacitive buttons and the phone is pretty easy to take apart.

Check You Tube for videos of how to. Heat gun/hair dryer, T5 torx screwdriver, and a few pry tools are all you need. Digitizer (screen) and some tape are all the parts needed. It should cost you $35 to $45. I am waiting for mine!
Just cracked mine also
I just cracked mine also. Not NEARLY as bad as yours and i can live with it for a little while but would much rather have it replaced. How much skill does it require?
EDIT: found a link to one that seems to be a good price http://www.tmart.com/Replacement-Touch-Screen-Digitizer-for-HTC-Rezound-Free-Tools_p138139.html Any comments on it?
Thanks guys and I dropped it once making a single crack. The pic is upon dropping it again face down on an industrial floor. Probably going to end up replacing the digitizer. Hopefully the LCD screen is okay underneath.

It's an easy fix. If you have never replaced one it will take about an hour. Be sure not to damage the void stick on top of one of the screws.

His power level went over nine thousanddddddddddddd! As a result, his screen shattered from such an event.
Anyone know if the black void stickers will work because I cant find green? I did find white with red void on it maybe I can color it LOL.
I replaced the screen on my GFs Rezound.. the hardest part is peeling the digitizer off the screen with a heatgun and ensuring the glue/double sided tape stays on the phone..
As far as the VOID sticker goesm carfully slide the head of a pin under it and lift it off.

Those of you who have replaced the digitizer on the Rezound, is the adhesive reusable? None of the replacement digitzers I have found come with new strips and the places that I have found new strips say that shipping can take 3 weeks. I was looking to get this fixed a little sooner than that and don't want to tear it open and not have the adhesive if it is needed!
Thanks

Does sprint insurance cover housing replacement? Is there any way I can get it done through them even if I need to pay just a little bit? My housing is all kinds of.scraped to hell and.back and I was actually kind of hoping to get the white housing put on if possible
You should be able to buy one online for less than your insurance deductible. Insurance doesn't cover normal wear and tear (strictly speaking).
Another member just asked this. He dropped his phone and bent the housing. He the Sprint store he took it to wouldn't cover cosmetic damage. :-\
You can do this for way less by yourself than any insurance claim would cost, and they don't cover it anyway.

Maybe because the carbon blue phones are darker and it's hard to see any cracks which would also be darker. There's a lot more contrast between a white phone and a darker crack than there is between a black phone and a darker crack.

In general, while plastics are weaker in strength due to a lack of carbon. It's hard to say for sure tho without the processing methods of the plastics used in making the Note's shells. For all we know, they can be the same composition with the Carbon Blue model just being tinted with dyes.
I am one of the few that have a split. If I'm able to successfully get it replaced, ill opt for another white one. Its not the only issue with my phone and I'm hoping its isolated. So far very few people reported having the issue. Far more replacements and returns for other unrelated issues.
I wasn't too concerned until Samsung warranty support told me if anything subsequently happen because of the crack to the screen because of debris or moisture entering, they would not cover it.
You'd think they could make some sort of process where they could mix in Teflon to make white plastics a bit less brittle.

My white one cracked. Right side about an inch or so from the power button. I decided to give the white another shot because I'm just not a fan of the black... sorry carbon blue. I figure if it happens again then I'll see if they will swap it for a blue one.
I made sure the folks at the AT&T store were aware of the various threads regarding the cracking issue so they could include it in heir notes for why the device was exchanged.

The bottom piece will snap off. It just has a sticky tape wich makes you think you're about to break something but you won't. Took my phone apart after jumping in the pool with it last week.

good luck, you might be able to get it exchanged since you haven't had it 2 weeks. Most likely they'll throw out the "it doesn't effect the performance of the device" excuse.

Im in the same boat I here ya! Samsung makes great products but cut cost on cheaper meterials I too have a small scratch on my screen and I was babying the crap out of it when I was cleaning with a micro fiber cloth my last 4 phones over the past 2 years had no screen protectors and rarely did I get a scratch and I was much rougher knowing in advance from other threads that the note 2 was using cheaper quality material to cut costs ... My question is why they're making billions not millions but billions ... It pisses me off ...I want a replacement pen I know the scratch on the screen is so small that a screen protector will hide it

The plastic for the SPen is rather soft. So yes it is an issue, but it doesn't affect performance at all, and the phone itself doesn't have the problem.

I didn't notice it until I read this thread. Slight chipping here as well.
Wow guys. Really? You guys are whining over some microscopic paint chip? Be glad that's the extent of your problems with this phone. Every phone is going to have its problems. Paint will naturally come off if suffers regular abrasion, either from sliding in and out of the phone or from us handling it. I'm just glad this phone doesn't have real problems like a poor radio or battery over heat.

Does it affect your signal any? A lot of people have said the aluminum frames, bumper or all around cases, seem to affect their mobile reception. Was just wondering if it did that or not.

One more question, you put this over your regular battery door and not a wireless charging battery door? The reason I ask, I have the wireless charging battery door which makes the overall back a bit thicker and wondered if this would fit over this. Probably not but I thought I'd ask. Sorry for all the questions.
Neither. This comes attached to new door.

Ah okay....thanks for answering the questions! :good: It won't work for me as I love my wireless charging door and looking for something to go over it to protect my phone somewhat.
Not sure could this aluminum part be removed and attached (glued) to charging cover. Don't have one to try it

Anything is possible. I've seen so many DIY here on this forum, it spins my mind. I'm not quite that handy but it's definitely an idea I'd like to see someone else try

Don't know I just got it yesterday. It does look like aluminum frame is just attached to top regular door. It increases thickness but I don't use any cases right now (expecting one in next 2 days)

Could you please post a picture so we can see what you mean? Also, it would help to see if their design is moddable.
I will post some new pictures or maybe even a video over the weekend

nice! i was looking to replace my white back cover for something different.
Sorry, I have been busy but here are couple pictures that might give you idea about possible modding. I almost broke this thing trying to show you more, but decided to stop since I have no wireless charging cover to experiment with it. I used red marking so you can see where is "lower" black cover (aluminum is attached to it, don't know how - didn't remove more than on picture itself but pic 3 shows something like clips), 2nd picture is same door from inside
you have cute hands
it's a aluminum plate, so wireless charging is out.
quality looks good.
