I'm new in this site and I want the easiest way to do this....
Anyone can help???

There is no way to root .62 for now.
Unless you unlock your bootloader.

First unlock the bootloader the SE way.
Then flash the rage kernel with flash tool and you are automatically rooted.
.
It worked for me with .62..
Try it.

Use Flashtool to put back the .42 or .58 software, root it, and then update via Update Center on the phone. After the update, the phone will be still rooted until you do a factory reset.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know if there is any (tested) method of rooting xperia pro with firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62. My phone is unlocked. I have no idea if my bootloader is locked or unlocked...
Some say they rooted this firmware, some say they failed, and I would like to know for sure if there is any way to root it.
The reason I want to root my phone is mainly to remove the annoying preintalled apps.
Any help would be great. Thanks!
How To Root Xperia Pro MK16I 4.0.2.A.0.62
I had to downgrade the software back down to version 4.0.2.A.0.58 in order to root the phone. My thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22619413#post22619413 refers.
Unfortunately, as yet, nobody seems to have posted a simple method of rooting the phone with version 4.0.2.A.0.62.
Cheers

Please tell me how do I root my phone? I have the build 4.0.2.A.0.62. I didn't find any proper guide. please help me.
4.0.2.A.0.62 cannot be rooted, because the exploit has been fixed.
Currently, you need to downgrade to older firmware(.52 or .58 for example), that can be done either with WotanServer or with Flashtool(requires correct files), then root with program in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346198. After that, just make OTA(Over the Air) update to .62 firmware, root stays(at least it stayed on my LWW).

Now where do I find the .42 Rom?
Thank you all. I was able to flash back to .58 and rooted it. And updated via OTA to .62. XDA ftw.
Model Number: SK17a
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-perf
Build Number: 4.0.2.A.0.62
Bootloader unlock allowed: No
No network/sim locks or anything other than bootloader. Is my phone unrootable? No other threads helped so I thought I would just post a thread with my phones information and ask. Is .62 unrootable or something?
Yes .62 Cannot Rooted Directly,You need to Downgrade .58 and Get Root

There's also a pre-rooted .62 packed inside a flashable .zip somewhere among the hundreds of tutorials floating around, just make sure you look hard enough, I don't have the link handy at the moment.
Unlock your bootloader and get pre-rooted kernels to avoid this kind of problems.
BTW why not just go with ICS? mine's been running fine with it.
It says no proper root access.
Rooted on .58 successfully, updated to .62 but now it is no longer rooted.
