so i was kinda considering buying this phone. but since development in this phone is not quite like development for my p500, how's the battery life for the stock rom? thanks in advance!

Battery life is amazing when you break in the battery. development for this phone will probably be picking up soon.

If you use the tools provided, the battery life is great! Plus, it charges super fast!

Depends what sort of battery life you're used to. I came to the RAZR having had a Galaxy S II with 2000mAh extended battery as my daily driver. Was used to heading home at the end of the workday with 50% left - the RAZR has died on me completely before the day's end. Ended up rooting and underclocking to get an acceptable level of performance out of it, your results may vary. Moto included a lot of useless battery-sapping bloat with this phone, most of which is now frozen with Titanium Backup.

Ok so I got a sgsll but my girl has a vibrant and I flashed ics passion but for some reason she says the battery life its terrible .. Myself am running slickMOD 2.4 and battery life its great.. My question is what is the best ROM for battery life on vibrant. Any suggestions . Performance dont really mater to her at this point. She just want battery to last longer... Thanks in advance

If she doesn't really care about performance then you can just under clock her phone on ICS Passion and it will definitely save you some juice.
LIke they said^.Heres the app to clock your phone. Just download this and underclock for longer battery life.
Jajajajaj big nooob here lol y I didnt think of that...

Hmm ok still any recomendations on roms

I've had ICS Passion and Euphoria. Passion is really good in battery, way better than stock froyo.

Buy a new battery. The Anker 1800mAh is highly recommended.
If you want to spend a little more i suggest you get the http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoce...sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1330604736&sr=8-2-spell seido innocel 3000 mah battery. it also comes with the replacement back cover.
hmm, I'm not so sure about the bulk on the back of the phone with the battery you suggested there.
I'm curious about ROM option, too.

I recently switched to the galaxy note and the battery life is awful.. Is it just me? Should I go get a new phone?

I started a thread about battery problems. Its the one that says "battery problems" in the general forum. Check it out and compare

How could we possibly answer this when you do not define awful.

Are you using LTE all day?
Sent from my SGH-I717D using xda premium
Battery life on my Note easily lasts all day.

It would be helpful if you elaborate your Note's set-up. Such as like what ROM is being used, brightness level, LTE/no LTE, etc...
My Note currently has no issue lasting a full work-day with LTE on the whole time. And this is with moderate usage. (No videos, and minimal music)
I'm satisfied with mine... Just keep a charger near by.

There are only a few reasons why you see your battery life as terrible.
1) You are coming from an iPhone. But now you're using a tool of a phone, not a toy, so your battery life will be lower.
2) You are coming from the Droid RAZR MAXX, which is the only android with a bigger battery.
3) You have a rogue app that you didn't use before that is draining your battery life.
4) You are using excessive amounts of LTE data, and you came from a phone without LTE.
If those apply to you, there's your answer. If they don't, you may just have a bad device or battery.
You really need to be more specific when stating something as subjective as battery life is terrible. May I suggest you post screenshots of your battery stats so that you can give some insight to why your battery life is terrible. Coming on these forums and ranting without evidence won't get you very far.

Can you elaborate more on bad device or battery? Is that a common issue?

Pretty much every device is unique, even though they are produced and assembled in identical fashion. It's possible for a device to have faulty software or internal hardware from the factory that could drain battery, and it's also possible for it to be shipped with a faulty battery. It's not a common issue, but also not unheard of. If nothing in his usage of the device is out of the ordinary, then it's possible he received a faulty device or battery, and should exchange it.

Install cpu spy and make sure you are going to deep sleep. For weeks I couldn't make it through the day and once I realized that the phone wasn't sleeping I found the app that was causing it and deleted it. I get great battery now but still reboot every morning because my original charging cable was lost so my phone will not sleep until I reboot.

I would say battery life can be defined by screen on time only.
Brightness and lte makes much difference.
Anyways just refer to other battey forums. Search helps.

Compared to what???
If you are trying to compare your Note to Apple itoy that is like trying to compare pink tricycle with pink tassels to a Corvette ZR1. No comparison at all, definitely more than apples and oranges. Having owed, well still own till I sell it, Dell Streak only other 5 inch screen out there. Agree it is still not apples to apples (or vette to vette), but Shelby Mustang to ZR1 and can say the battery performance is about the same. I upgraded my Steak to a 2400 mAh battery and had all services on and OC'ed to 1.9 ghz, yes I know single core, standard definition resolution, etc, but as close as you can get in 5 inch screen world. So far the 2500 mAh and stock ROM, with everything on, battery time is relatively the same. Will say only phone that might compare is Samsung Skyrocket HD that is set to come out this month(?), inside they are close to the same, but the screen is 4.6 inch super Amole plus.
Can anyone help me out? This is my battery on battery monitor widget. It says 1500 mah. I've only had my phone off the charger for 3 hours and I'm on 33 percent and watching it drop fast.

Battery Monitor Widget guesses at the capacity (or hard codes it). Go into the apps settings and you can tell it the battery capacity.
Also, make sure your using decent batteries. The two for $15 deals on ebay are not direct replacements. Stick with oem or brand names llike Anker.

i have had my phone for 1.5 years now and have installed at least 50 -100 roms and kernels. sometimes multiple re installation. i am on JB right now and battery is not that great. i know known issue. i am thinking all the times i had to recalibrate the battery and not waiting till it fully discharged may have affected it. i have overheated the phone on more than a few occasion.
what would the average life span off a battery be? i am thinking its time to purchase a new one.
thks
Compared to ur usage, ur battery did good, normally 2 to 3 years a battery can last, under moderate usage!

Battery life is waaaay too subjective.
IMHO if you can make it through the entire day without needing to top your battery off in the middle, then your battery is going its job.
If not and you're not heavy on it then grab another Motorola OEM online...

Battery will discharge increasingly faster as you will use.
Depends on when you say, ready to here.
At least two years should be decent.

I'm used to phones with poor battery life, so bad that I have to charge at 50% or I lose my phone quick. I'm trying to train myself out of this, but it is difficult after so long. The LGOG is so much better that i don't have to charge until 15% or so to be safe. Anybody else having similar 'problems'? Used to bad batteries and panicking at 50% or so on your LGOG?
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
Lol. This is exactly how I would describe my relationship with my phones, both current and previous. The GS2 had abysmal battery life. I'd always get nervous if I got under 50% and knew I wouldn't be near a charger for a few hours. The iPhone 3GS I had before that wasn't any better.
The OG has been great now that I've got it set up properly. No worries now.

IPhone 4S was similar, but the G2X and especially the OG Evo 4G were way worse.

Coming from an HTC Inspire I still have a habit of putting my phone on the charger at 30% battery life on that phone was horrible for me.

Battery life has been about the same since I started using android phones. I can't really decide which of those I have owned was noticeably worse than my OG. Nothing really stands out.
Had the HTC vivid for a little while in between my atrix and LGOG and by far worst battery ever. Carried a spare on me at all time. Glad those days are over.

My Atrix 4G had pretty scrappy battery life. Loving the battery life on the LGOG. Although it pales in comparison to the Atrix HD with the EB40 battery mod that I used to have.

My battery life has been solid with this phone actually. I'm currently running GinSix 1.5 with sk8's kernel with the Conservative governor.
