I have a SII I9100G Version, i recently updated to ICS 4.0.3 using Samsung Kies.
I m realy fed up with it, I really want to go back to 2.3.6 Version (The Original Samsung 2.3.6).
Can someone please help me with the same. DO i need to root or it can be done w/o rooting, also will i be able to get the Samsung 2.3.6 or i would have to use a generic 2.3.6 ??
Please help, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please have a read of intratech's official/carrier firmware threads.
download the proper ROM from:
http://www.samfirmware.com/
or:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9100G
wipe your phone - use Odin to flash a ROM - do wipe again.
p.s. you do not need ROOT

i don't understand why kies always never want to update my officiel french samsung s2.
My S2 is bought from samsung directly, not from any isp, so i really don't understant why kies always reply me there is no update where isp's s2 phone can provide it to their users ??
i am in France, isp is named free, this isp has officially said that he advices to updrage to last android version by kies to go be 2.3.6
It is a shame that samsung not officially provide the last official android version where isp seems to do it??

Because their is no update for YOUR phone is the usual answer .
You are using KIES on PC to check updates ???

Yes best advice is wait for ICS release second best advice is flash a stock Samsung rom 2.3.6

I have got a I9100 S2 which i brought from a friend. When ever i try to update it in kies it says its not supported for upgrading? I know he's put some random firmware on it but i don't know what kind.
Any help would be appreciated.

Check www.sammobile.com they will have your stock firmware and guides how to upload using odin.

Region for my ROM is COA (Romania - Cosmoto). I dont know about these kind of things much so please guide me. A link for my S2 Stock ROM would be appreciated. I have seen www.sammobile.com but my ROM's PDA, CSC, Baseband files not match with the ROM uploaded there. Please find one for me so i can root it. I would be thankful. Waiting for an early response.
