Hi guys
After running the 2.01.605.11 .zip RUU to get back to stock GB my ReZound dont reconize/mount sd card anymore.
any tips?

I think this happens when you mix GB/ICS firmware and ROMs. Try this:

Not sure if related, but if I add photos and images to my sd card or even internal storage on my phone it doesnt show up in the gallery. I did a search on google and it led me to clearing my media storage data in the apps settings but after doing that my gallery was empty. After wuite a while, my gallery items seemed to have come back, but none of the new folders I added are showing up? If I use root explorer I can find the images and folders they are in but I can only open them from there one at a time. It wont let me share pictures or do anything with them. Is this a known issue? I'm on cleanrom de.

gallery is garbage. use quickpic from market. to fix media storage get a media scan app nut don't scan until you clear media storage first
Using an RUU and going from ICS to GB you might just need to do a factory reset from hboot and then reboot the phone and then you should be good. If that doesn't work reformat the SD card. I believe it happens because the SD card sometimes keeps the info from the previous version on there that's why you need to factory reset.

I had the same sd card problem.
Got that resolved now.
But I have a calling problem. I try to dial and phone reboots.
**edit** - I got the phone part working. Just reflashed the kearnel package and the update to it.

Believe its an issue where mainver doesnt match hboot/fastboot and it wont allow your sdcard to mount. try this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23169557&postcount=4

Am i doing something stupid, I cant get the mp3's I have on my SD card to be seen in the Albums/Artists etc in the stock music player app.
I can see no option to "add" them into it.
They exist on the external SD card.
Not had this issue before.. anyone got any ideas?
Try to copy the files to your pc - and then format thd sd-card when it is in the phone. Copy the files back on the sd-card.
I have a similar problem on my SGS, and this method was the solution.

My first issue with Galaxy S II. Will have to try this, my 15GB of music on external sd is not recognised
Still, anybody found out why this is happening in the first place? The only thing I remember doing that had anything to do with sdcard was installing Multi Mount SD-Card widget in hopes that it would give me quick access to mounting sdcard as mass storage. Didn't work though, uninstalled it and now music not recognised. I can see it in file manager no problem,it's just media store that is not finding anything on external sd card

Doing exactly the recommended worked a treat.
Now any new files i add to the SD card work fine. It's odd why it didnt work from day one though, but it works now!

flashed new version 1.4 of Villain ROM, and again, SD card music not recognized. Anybody found out the reason for this?

I think the only plausible reason for this issue may be the file system that the ROM uses. After each time you change the ROM, try to make sure that you format the SD card to avoid problems like this in the future.
If it isn't about the file system, then I don't know, maybe the problem could be caused by the ROM itself, since it's "home-made", or some damaged components in the device. Anyway, I got this problem too and I have an original ROM, so I'll just try the formatting method.

I'm having a same issue here but noticed it involved more than this and it happened at a certain app install. Hope someone here will recognize something in this post and help me not have to re-install my entire stock ruu, starting over.
The stock music player quit finding the mp3's on ext_sd card. First noticed this, but the stock gallery will not find photos as well.
I used Twrp to do a factory reset and was installing files again (most of my favorite apk's are stored on ext_sd card) and had to start with ES File Manager. When I went to setup ES File Manager up it will also not log into my network! So, after a factory reset these three things are happening and all of this started after loading Sterickson's permission fixer. The one on the app store that has the badly drawn cd image as app icon. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to go back to the stock rom install to fix what his permission fixer trashed?
HTC One sv BOOST running JB 4.2.2 unlocked/HTCDev, rooted/Chainfire SU & s-off/rumrunner.

About three weeks ago I clicked on Gallery and instead of bringing up my pictures, a white screen appeared that said "Searching for photos & videos..." then a second or so later a big exclamation mark came up with the statement "No photos or videos found".
The pictures are on my SD card, I can still go look at them individually in the Gallery app, but Gallery doesn't know they're there anymore when I invoke the app itself from the desktop or app drawer.
The same thing recently happened with my music. I click on the Music app and now I get an exclamation mark and the message "No music found". But I can go to my Music folder and click on any single song in there and play it fine through the Music app.
The only way I've been able to fix the problem is to do a full wipe and flash a new rom from scratch (nandroiding back to a previous build doesn't fix the problem). Then I can go a few days running okay, but the problem always eventually returns.
And it doesn't matter what rom or kernel I'm using, the problem eventually returns, and a full wipe and flash is needed to fix it again (but it never stays fixed).
What's my problem? I can't put my finger on any particular thing I did to cause this problem.

Try backing up your sd. Then format your card threw your pc and restore factory defaults. Then format your sd threw your recovery. Then put your data back on your sd and see if that helps at all.

Thanks, how do I format the card from the pc? I don't have a card reader, so I'll need to do it while the card is still in the phone. But I do have a USB cable.
Edit: NVM, I figured it out.
def most likely a bad card. someone how it can corrupt. or it might possibly be that your actual sd card reader in your phone has stopped working. but most likely you have a bad card. im assuming you prolly already formatted it. howd it turn out?
I'm taking from your post in the other thread that formating your sd didn't work??? But also after you reformatted your sd threw your pc did you format it threw your recovery as well???

The .nomedia file is a file you can place in some folders to tell the gallery and music aps not to look for media there, to avoid images from apps (for example) being added to your pics gallery. Copied a couple of GB of photos to my External SDCard.Rebooted phone, nothing showed up,but all videos and music that were on the card were still showing in Video Player,Gallery and Music Player.So I unmounted the card via settings ,remounted .now nothing shows up at all.
If I browse through Root Explorer I can see all my media,and when I look in Settings/Storage the card shows up.
I thought perhaps it was the card(only bought last week) could be the problem, so I stuck my old MicroSD card in which has some media on it, same thing.Any ideas?
Should have said.When I take a photo it is stored on the micro SD card.That works OK
Is it just teh gallery that causes an issue?

No, nothing shows up.No videos, no music and no photos
I decided to reset the phone (from Settings) .Set it up again and all seems well again
Today I added some more albums to my external SDCard.Again, after doing so,none of the new mp3s showed up.Removed SDCard, and like before, NOTHING on the SDCard shows up.So I thought I would do what I did last time and wipe the phone.This time though it didn't do the trick,and nothing is showing up.Even reinstalled the original stock ROM,still nothing.
Have tried with a couple of different cards with the same outcome, nothing on SDCard appearing on phone(I can see the card in My Files and browse all the individual files OK).
Assuming there is something wrong with the phone , I guess all I can do is return to store, however I did unlock the phone using Voodoo Unlocker.Can this be reversed?
Can anybody help??
Either with the SDCard problem or know whether the Voodoo Unlock is reversible??

This problem has resurfaced.Installed Omega 8.1 Rom .Opened Music Player., nothing there.Same for Gallery and Video Player.
The thing is I downloaded PowerAmp,added the folder that has my music in and it works fine. Open QuickPic and all my pictures are shown, as are my videos which I can play in Video Player.
I can transfer a song to my internal memory, it shows up. Transfer it back to extSDCard, it disappears.
After flashing a stock ROM the problem is still happening.
The strange thing is ,the phone recognises there is an external card.When I open the camera app, I get the pop up asking me if I want to store my photos on the sdcard.I do, and it works fineand any picture I take on the phone shows in Gallery).It just seems to be a problem with any media.Its doing my head in.
Please save me from having to go buy an iPhone4s, because as boring as it may be, it does,as they say "just work"
This sounds software-related to me. Have you tried flashing a stock ROM and testing without installing any applications to the device? It's possible that one of the apps you have installed is causing some sort of problem.
It is still possible that the external SD card has a fault though. Have you tried a different one? Additionally, why are you using the external card rather than the internal memory?
All roms for me never find video or mp3 on external sd card .
Notable that Kies places Video in DCIM/Camera folder if you ask it to transfer filers to ext sd card and likewise music on ext card is media folder .

yes, tried 3 sdcards.
Have 10GB of music. 2GB of photos. So I need to use the external SDCard ,as I would already be out of room.
This has worked fine.The last week or so there has been no problem.I have been flashing ROMS, adding media to SDCard with no issue.
How about apps? Have you tried doing this with no other applications installed?
I havent, but I am going to do a full wipe flash again without installing any apps.

If you do that and it works ok, just install one app at a time until you find the culprit. Then uninstall it and email the developer!

Well that cant be right can it. There surely would be little point in having an external SDCard in that case.You cant put apps on it, you cant put music or video on it? (well not if you want to use stock apps)
Well, that didnt work.Fresh install of ROM, no apps installed. No music/Photos.
So thats stock ROM, Omega 7.1 (last known working with that ROM) and Omega 8.1 flashed probably half a dozen times over the last 24+ hours.
The only music and vid that appear are the Samsung installed demo ones.

Weird. I have music and media stored on my external SD card, and everything reads and functions fine (on Wanamlite using Ninphetamin3).
Have you tried changing kernels?

No I havent.If it is something I should try I will have to have a read up. I have only rooted and flashed ROMs, never changed Kernels.
Edit:
I have used drag & drop when phone is connected to PC, I have used a card reader.Card has been formatted in the phone, in the card reader.
I have used Easy Phone Sync ,just tried Kies and that syncs fine to the external card.
It surely must be a software problem.

Definitely try flashing a new kernel - have a look through the dev sections.
It's worth reformatting the sdcard in the phone as well, using the phone software to do it - that should eliminate any weird permissions-related problems.

The same goes when I connect the phone to my PC. But when I try to read music from the sd card, it seems that non of the music apps can see the SD. The same goes with the gallery, can't see any pics from the SD. Tried to clear data from media service but still no luck.
I am using RR Rom, before when I used GB, didn't have any problem.
Any ideas?

use 'Rescan media' app from store's to rescan ur media
also delete Data/cache of Music,gallery apps then reboot and see
I installed Mean Bean 1.1 a couple days ago, updated to 1.2, and I can not access my pictures or music (and probably other items) through any app that isn't a file explorer. I wiped my ext memory using my phone and mounted again, connected to PC and added back some pictures and mp3 files, still nothing. I moved them to the internal storage, nothing again. I take pictures and they show up in the gallery, details showing they are on the external SD card. I have tried wiping it every which way, tried several different SD cards, and still nothing. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated (I know I can just switch ROMs but I can't imagine no one else is having this issue)
Have you tried a rescan media application from the market?

Reinstall the latest meanbean. It's not a rom issue but it should help your phone find your pics.
