Hi to all
solde my HTC HD2 this week and just got my first real Android phone since a few hours.
instead of reading 1.000's of thread i would like to ask to you all SGS2 EXPERTS for some pointers ( tips and tricks ) that a SGS2 newbie should know in order to enjoy his phone
i just updated the phone to ICS ( 4.0.3 ) ( baseband version : I9100XXLPS )
flash the ressurection remix 2.2 rom !!
it contains everything a galaxy s2 deserves
Never flash a PIT file unless explicitly told to do so by an experienced dev. Additionally, make a backup of your /efs folder, now.
In terms of ROMs, give HyDROG3NICs (AOKP) and the CyanogenMod 9 (AOSP) nightly builds a shot.

Always make a nandroid backup and store a copy on your computer just in case something goes wrong.
And try resurrection v2.2 or rootbox rom

Hello developers! It's me again stealing your time xD
Well I've installed the custom rom and installed Cyanogenmod RC2 ported to SGA.
It's a great rom working good and stuff just some little bugs need fixing nothing much. But i still like better the stock rom it's more stable and stuff like that... I was searching on google how to do that and found on samfirmware.com or something like that stock roms.
I would like to get my stock rom back like it was when I got it and my Service provicer is Simobil(Vodafone). The only problem is there isn't a rom such as I got it.
I went to the store and there was SGA with the official rom and I saw the informations about phone.
Baseband version: S5830XXKA6
Build Number: FROYO.XWKB4
Does any one know how to get back to that stock if it is possible or something i've searched on samfirmware.com for base version and found the sameone but the build number wasn't the same. I'm not sure about that but if i install that one from samfirmware.com the KIES doesn't find any official updates for my phone and 2.3.3 update in available in Slovenia.
Thank you guys
Flash a full package file .

Hello XDA developers.
Im a bit confused, hope you could help me..
I have an LG Optimus P500 H , and i want to install a cyanogenmod ROM with gingerbread.
Of all the information i had gathered, my phone is in the OLD baseband, with a kernel version: 2.6.32.9
I have readed that i have to install a new baseband for the cyanogenmod "P500-v10E-baseband.7z " from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530 , is that correct?
Wich version of cyanogen do you recommend me to install? I live in argentina and i dont want to lose my 3G/HDSPA/EDGE connection.
The other thing is, that all the links are dead because of the megaupload closure. =(
Thanks.
You seem confused. New baseband is v20. As long as you are not on T-Mobile, data and 3g should work fine. If you are, you can try and if it doesn't work, revert to v10. One of the network frequencies doesn't seem working with v20 (I Think its 1800hrz - correct me if I'm wrong) and as long as your network isn't dependent of that frequency, its fine.
Try out adfad666's N2 or a cyanogenmod nightly if you want. Lupohirp's ICS is almost complete and its for the new baseband, and as far as I know, the newest oxygen tom is too

Or if you don't want to flash new baseband you can try the old baseband fixes for cm7 or cm9.

Thanks-a-lot!
I think i will go for "CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0-OptimusOne-KANG [.32][.35][BothBasebands]" when adfad666 releases the removed link, until i feel more confident messing with the basebands and kernels, hehe..
Last year i had a HTC, wich i flashed so many times i lost count, now i see this as a whole new world!
PD: Dont like much the homescreen of "nightly" version. I miss SPB shell so much...
Hi all!
I'm sorry if this question been asked before! which i see it has ! But I'm confussed to what to do! As there are several different answers to the same question ???????
So this is my problem!
I have a Galaxy s2 i9000 which i updated the ROM to Resurrection Remix ICS v1.0 by westcrip. a few months back!
All went ok. Rooted phone using odin and “CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5.tar” from galaxy s2 root.com.
got it all working and all great till It came to other day! I wanted to udate to Resurrection remix 2.6 or v3.0 ??
But when it came to CWM - it kept coming up with
This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-Root v5.0 or newer. It appears you are running a different kernel. Various features have been disabled.
including the backup and recovery! I've tried ROM manager too. that says that I have CWM 2.5.1.2 and also CWM touch not available for this device. my phone is rooted. I have Su0.93,busybox v1.17.1
BUT NO JOY !! I tried to backup on there too and just takes me to CWM with no backup on the menu..
I always like to do a backup in case of problems! But cant in this case!
I read that flashing kernel could work! But as I'n not 100% which one to use! I'd be happy of any advise! I really would like to update now! As Res V2.6/v3 look great! so does the Salman ICS ROM..
I was thinking of flashing Siyah Kernel v.3.3.2 for Galaxy S2 i9100! [ICS] - but read somewhere this has problems with Res v2.6..
Can some1 please just tell me in simple terms, What is the best way to go about doing this! and if have to use new kernel which one and where?? I really would be most grateful of the help !!
Many Many thanks in advance .. A person who don't want to mess his much loved s2 up !!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this Forum so please pardon if i'm not following any rules and mistakenly posted the thread in the wrong location.
I had installed Clockworkmod Recovery from "theandroidsoul"
Then I have Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100. Recently i have installed a custom ROM on it provided by JellyBam ROM 20121023 – i9100 (courtesy: igio90.)
It has upgraded my phone to:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband: I9100DDLP8
Kernel Version:[email protected]
AOKP Version: JellyBam.AOKP.Build5
Build number: JellyBam AOKP 20121023
I have found it to be unstable as there were many functionality that have been lost including FM, 5.1 surround sound, MTP and mass storage connection, etc.
I would like to remove the ROM completely and install another of ROM
Please suggest me the following:
1. can i go back to ICS 4.0.1 by removing this rom and instaliling ICS from odin? what would be a recommended procedure for it?
2. Will i BRIK my phone in this process?
3. Can i install any other version of Jelly bean custom rom using ODIN, what would be a recommended procedure for it?
Guys i need your help ASAP as i cannot stay with this unstable ROM for long. any help is hugely appreciated.

from what i can see you need a stable custom ROM with nice Features, i recommend you Cyanogen Mod 10 Jelly Bean... i Have it on my XPERIA ARC S and it works perfectly with no detected bugs, only one thing that i dont care about is that no more HDMI setting... the prcedure is quit easy and if you got stuck you can go back and ask for help, i dont think you can brick your phone if you follow steps and make a minor mistake.. if you would like to try, i can help you in everything, and please hit "THANKS" if i helped
