Hi, I have problem with wifi conection. I'm normally connected to wifi but I don't have internet access.
You might think that you're really connected to a wi-fi, to verify your wi-fi connectivity, do this steps.
You must turn-off first your existing wifi connection before proceeding this steps!
Using your Samsung Galaxy Mini, go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Wi-fi Settings, turn-on your Wi-fi connectivity there.
If your SGM can scan wifi connection then it might give you several wifi networks.
Below Network Notification is Wi-fi Networks, you can see a list of available wifi networks there and you can clearly say that you are NOT really Connected if the status of each Wi-fi networks is giving you this message. "Remembered, secured with WPA/WPA2PSK or secured with Password".
To sum it up, you're SGM can scan wifi networks but it cannot successfully connect because some of wi-fi networks are secured with Password. Just ask for it's password, otherwise, find a wi-fi network which doesn't have a network password.
What if you're already connected but still, cannot access internet surfing..
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications.
Under Manage Applications, point to All tab and find Internet on the list and Opera (if you have) and Google Play Store (formerly known as Market) and Open each Applications.
for example: Open Google Play Store then click Clear Data and Clear Cache then repeat this steps to other applications which I mentioned above.
Hope it helps

Hi
Has anybody added a hidden SSID to the list of wifi connections that works reliably?
I cannot see the option available when I am adding a new WiFi hotspot and the WiFi application cannot see the network when hidden. For certain other android devices has been reported that the option for a hidden network is there but I cannot see anything in the interface available on our SGIIs.
Its the wireless at work so I have no control over it.
Any ideas?
----------------
When i go into settings -> wireless & network -> wifi, i see "add wireless network" at the bottom, then i can add the SSID of any network.
You can add whatever you like there but details of a hidden network are ignored i.e. the scanning that follows fails to connect to the hidden network
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
ive been wondering about that for a while
the same thing occurs on my SGS 1 so its possibly a OS issue
Hi everyone, I have a question that i can't quite seem to find an answer to any where i look.
I am a recent android convert, i had ios on my iphone and ipads for many years. I use a wireless hard drive that has its own wifi signal, which i connect my devices to. The problem with doing this is that the device thinks then that it should get all of its internet from that wifi connection, which of course, being a hard drive, it does not have.
To get around this what i have done is go in my IOS configuration and remove the "default gateway" or "router" or whatever you want to call it (depending on your networking background), and then iOS knows to go ahead and not use wifi and continue to send any non local traffic over LTE.
My Samsung Note 5 doesn't seem to want to do this. First thing, when i try to remove the router/gateway from the ip address configuration in wifi, the "save" button is grayed, meaning i cannot save a blank gateway. I located an app on the app store called "wifi settings" which was suggested to use to set the router to nothing, but still this did not work, really what it did was save a 1 in the router/gateway field and caused nothing to work, not even local traffic.
The Note 5 has a "smart network switch" option which is apparently to detect a poor wifi signal and switch to LTE, if i enable this, the phone does realize that the wifi connection to the wifi hdd doesn't have an internet connection, but terminates the wifi connection, thus killing my connection to my hard drive.
My question, does anyone know how to configure the wifi on android to access local resources via wifi while still using the 3g/4g connection for internet traffic?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much.
Hello
I'm having trouble connecting to a lot of Wifi networks that most other people with Android and Apple phones have no problems with, including my home network.
Here's what happens:
Turn on WIfi, select SSID, type in the correct password. It connects for about a second (I know because snapchats etc, pop-up), then disconnects and changes to "Saved".
Then the SSID disappears from the list of available networks, and exists only in the Saved Networks section. If tap it I get only "Forget" & "Cancel".
To try to work out what was going on I enabled Developer options and set "Enable Wi-Fo verbose logging".
If I go through the same cycle, it connects for a second, then goes to saved and shows this underneath the SSID
"NETWORK_SELECTION_DISABLED+ASSOCIATION REJECTION=1"
I'm on Android version 7.1.2 Build No. TOS137B - N2G47H
The phone isn't rooted or anything
Can you tell me what's going on and how to fix it?
Hi there
Just wondering if you have McAfee installed?
I'm not much of an expert but I had a similar issue with WiFi on my Medion X2050 (I think that's what it's called) and I uninstalled McAfee and the problem was gone.
Hello,
I do not find the cause of not having internet on devices connected to the P20 via its shared tethering hotspot. I have internet on the phone itself, no problem. I have a correctly configured wifi hotspot, no problem. My laptop or tablet connects to the hotspot, no problem. But They do not get internet access.
I tried all of the things I found on google : reset the APN config, reset the network settings, turning on/off the phone, etc => none of these worked to solve the problem.
I am out of ideas. Anyone a suggestion to help ?
change you "Select AP band from 5GHz to 2,4GHz" on you wifi - hotsport config, select advance
