Guys, it might sound kind of odd but i'm trying to find a way to disable those standart android sounds (beep -beep-beep) when you increase/decrease ringtone volume from homescreen and elsewhere. I like the way how htc implemented it in sense (different tones) but i understand that it can be impossible to port them to SIII. However i'm very tired with those beeps especially when on higher range. So if someone know how to perform this trick please responŠ²
if you are rooted you can remove or rename the TW_Volume_control.ogg file in /system/media/audio/ui

Hi,
I use my N1 to listen music on my car. The problem is that the way the mobile is fixed prevents me from accessing the volume buttons. Since I use Cyanogenmod that now has music control on the lock screen, I was thinking that if there was a way to change the volume using the trackball there too It would be perfect ... less commands, less attention required to change the volume... less danger while driving.
Is it possible to make the trackball control the volume while in the lock screen? Not on the home and not when sleeping, just on the lock screen ...
I was thinking something like... rolling right and/or up to make the volume go up... and left and/or down to make it go down...
I would really appreciate any help.
why not just use the cars audio controls?
Because I use the cellphone plugged directly on an amplifier.
I know that it is a specific situation, but I would use it also with the dock. Sometimes when I want to raise the volume it gets out of the dock...
+1 on this one, would be very useful indeed!
Hello everyone,
I am really annoyed with this feature that causes change in ringtone notification sound if you happen to hit VOL UP and DOWN keys on idle screen (when on unlocked screen). I happen to hit these keys quite often and my ringer volume is often too low and I wonder why didn't I hear my phone ring?
In my opinion, if I need to lower down the ringer volume (or increase it) I'd do it from settings menu under voice call management.
Is there a way to disable this "shortcut" to increase decrease ringer volume when on idle screen, or doing anything while screen is unlocked?
thanks...
Bump.... so is this impossible to achieve guys?
I dont think ive ever heard anyone complaining about it. I suppose you can use something like settings profile to keep it constant, but as far as remapping the volume keys I havent seen anything yet
Hello All,
I need some help, I had a broken screen and when I replaced it I managed to break both the side volume buttons!
Now I can live with this until I order a replacement ribbon but since I don't have the side volume buttons any more I cannot adjust the speaker volume while i'm making a phone call and it's set to quite low at the moment.
Does anybody know what the program is called so I can invoke it set it to max and close it or at least the registry value that controls this?
Please note both system and ringer volumes are set to max through the device settings, it's the volume during a call I wish to increase...
Thanks in advance!
Did I ask the only un-answerable question in this entire forum?!?!
Put "windows mobile volume setting" into google. The first two links give you some freeware apps that allow you to edit volume on the screen itself.
Hello,
S3 is my first smartphone ever, so please be patient
Since I'm a student, I put my phone on mute during the classes (through the notification bar).
However, it happened to me twice now that accidental touch on volume up hard key took me out of mute. This is of course undesirable... Is there a way to disable this function of volume-up key?
I want to remain muted until I cancel it on notification bar.
Thanks!
bump... can anyone help?
Sad....it remains a big drawback of the android phones that we cant make different profiles for volume like Nokia phones......
I think you can only do this by finding a tone with no sound and setting it for all the alerts manally from sound setting before entering your class room
anyhow this is a good question and hope some devs can desable vol- button for enabling full vol. back
Thanks...
but modifying it manually at the beginning of each class, then again at the end, is not very comfortable.
Perhaps it can be fixed with a mod? something like that:
- clicking volume up if phone is not muted increases the volume, as usual.
- clicking volume up if phone is muted doesn't do anything.
All my other volumes on my SGS3 LTE 9305 is set to max. But when I plugin a set of headphones the phone somehow defaults to a lower volume in the headphones. And I dont want that . But is there any way to change it so that the headphone volume consistanly remains at max and doesn't automatically reduce it self to half whenever you plug in headphones.
It does this so that you don't blow your ears off, it's a safety feature and one that many people like. Have no idea how to turn it off. I've only seen the option in CM10/AOKP Roms
1: I don't like it
2: kicking the volume down to half is just stupid. Its not that high, even at full volume
I just hope someone knows how to either disable it or hack it off

Saying the volume isn't high is subjective. I for one have never needed to run my M2's at full volume on the S3. I'd go deaf. I'm sure there is a solution to disable it though. Worse case scenario? Flash a AOSP/AOKP Rom
