hi, i was wondering what GOOD music player replacement apps you guys use? the stock one on the razr blows and UBERMUSIC seems to like to disconnect and completely stop working all the time on my razr. weird because it worked fine on my droid pro. i would like to use the CM9 music app but i think that only works on ICS and not GINGERBREAD. someone correct me if i am wrong. so just wondering what do you guys use or recommend for a replacement if you guys use it at all. thanks.
edit: nevermind found that my task manager has been killing the ubermusic app automatically. whoops
PowerAmp is good, I would definitely recommend it. I've been using Google's Play Music lately though, because it has good integration with my equalizer app.
+1 on PowerAmp. I've tried a lot of them and it seems to have most of the best features of most. For me anyway.

Most will call me crazy but I prefer Cloudskipper over Poweramp.
Poweramp is definitely the more feature-rich of the two but after a lot of time fooling with the EQ, I just couldn't get the sound to output like I liked it. The "soft" EQ preset came closest but the volume level tended to be muted when connected to my vehicle Aux Input. Even tried pairing it with Volume Plus . . . another good app to have installed.
Cloudskipper works really well for me - good sound balance and volume levels and it's free. I use Widget Locker on my LG Revo but CS also comes with a decent lock screen.
winamp..
Its awesome.. if you have winamp on your computer, it can easily throw your itunes music on it and you can drag and drop music directly to your phone via cable or wireless... ive tried the others and they all are meh i find winamp the best.
+1 on poweramp, man you can play folders, it has swipe actions and its smooth ftw!!! its so good that i bought it to support the dev for making a trully great app
Currently using the new Poweramp Beta and its a fair bit of improvement UI wise from the current version in market. JetAudio was recently released too however they removed BBE/VIVA from the initial trial so I think I'll be holding off my purchase on that till it gets implemented.
I use PowerAmp for music stored internally on my phone, and Play Music for all my Google music.

Double Twist
Double twist has loads of feature :
1, itune playlist import
2. Manage your music from your desktop , create playlist and synch with your PC
3. Wifi sync ( pro)
4. EQ ( pro )
The desktop software has a similar interface like itunes. For me this APP works bcoz it helps me synch my music on PC and Razr :good:

I'm not sure if there is already a thread for music players because you can't search with xda apppppp. Correct me if I am wrong. What do you guys think is the best music player/app?
I really liked the Samsung music player.
Stock one on the atrix sucks I think. It freezes from time to time and does some funky shewt

where did you d/l it from?

Has the leaked music app.
Winamp is (in my opinion) the best. It offers everything doubleTwist does plus wireless sync is free. The doubleTwist app on the PC side is sluggish and bloated whereas Winamp is quite speedy and lightweight comparatively speaking. doubleTwist does offer streaming to ps3/360 but you can do that already using DLNA so it doesn't really matter.
DoubleTwist FTW... The leaked music app is good looking but too laggy for my constant use

search for the Connected Music Player, its motorola but 10x better than stock, it does lyrics, internet radio, song tagging music videos and tunewikki community, i love it so much better than stock

Cubed.
I ended up having to root and freeze the default music player so it would stop trying to take over music duties via bluetooth controls. I had that problem with a few other players too, not just cubed, so if you are using it to stream music via bluetooth, something to think about doing.
Cubed.
So smooth and visually appealing.
WinAmp FTNW! (for the nostalgia win!)
Works pretty well too, and has wifi sync. I mostly just use the player in gtunes or pandora though.

+1 the equalizer in this player is amazing - I'm using the headphones setting and it sounds great.
I like DoubleTwist as well.. easy to sync music and movies
PowerAMP
If you haven't tried PowerAMP for a music player, you really haven't unleashed your Android's music abilities. Hands down the best music player you will ever use, and easily worth the $5 to get the pro version. Check it out!
???!!!
The only problem wit this one is that even if u remove the stock player it wont work with bluetooth streaming/controling...
..Maybe were missing some libraries or something a dev could help us please ;-)

I have used many music players because i like to play my mp3 files by genre and some of those players don't do that.
Winamp: is a good choice but i had some sound problems with certains mp3 files. Also you can play internet radio stations.
PowerAmp: very customizable, but in my opinion the fonts are too small and don't like the appearance.
MIUI Player: Good one, but doesn't play by genre.
UberMusic: Excellent, play by genre (that's what i'm looking for), good appearance (like Windows Phone) and you can control with buttons when the screen is off.
The best music player you will find it just testing the different choices and keep in mind what are you looking for.
So, personally i use UberMusic for my MP3 files and Tune In for radio stations.
Good Luck!
TTPOD
DSP Manager useless if you use it.. and you can change theme the app
Try PlayerPro, i've using it for a couple weeks and absolutely love it, before this i was using poweramp, but both the interface and options in playerpro are much better!! You won't regret!
I use MIUI music playr. I can send songs with bluetooth directly...

I'm actually using Player Pro, the best for me because i can browse my library by folder. Of what i know, Player Pro is one of the only one who permit this.
If anyone knows another player doing it, i'd like to know it !
power amp is the best player
Why do you all hate the stock music player? I've used PowerAMP Pro, Mixzing, and the stock player. And I have to say, there's no damn difference apart from the stock player has a nicer and much more simple GUI, nice equalizer, and is free. Why waste 5 quid on a crappy 'PowerAMP Pro' that wastes battery, looks ****, etc.
Thoughts? Cheers
P.s. I think the Stock music player is ****ing ace .
EDIT: OK because you were all on about PlayerPro I checked it out and damn is it good! It has very nice bass and it's louder too. Only problem is that it uses up 3* as much RAM and 4* as much battery as the stock player, which in my eyes isn't worth it for such a small improvement. Anyway, I still love the stock player, they're both great!
It doesn't read my .m3u playlists. So I bought ZPlayer.
I dont hate it, i like and use it ^^
Glad that someone wrote it finally
I also think that stock player is very good, maybe not perfect but still.
Only player that could threat stock player may be Winamp but now it has so many bugs that for me is useless
I agree , but real player is pretty cool

The AOSP player has a widget I believe. But it's still bland like the TW version.
Even the 3rd party players availableon the market don't do it for me because they don't integrate the way I'd like.
It's sometimes smooth and sometimes laggy, which hate. So I use ubermusic for the total smoothness.

Yeah I just checked out Player PRO, it's pretty nice actually. But what's the difference between that and the stock? I mean, does the stock use more battery? or...or what?
I use stock player and i think other player just use software decoder mean they eat more batteries
MIUI Music app here on a MIUI rom. Can't fault it.
After i got SGS2 never bothered with other players, as stock one is simply great. Nice UI, good sound quality, equalizer, bass boost and few sound effects, that's all i need.

i love the stock player.. used playerpro, poweramp, that MetroUI one from Fede, Doubletwist, Winamp etc..
Only thing I wish it could do is edit ID3 tags or at least properly read the ones set by iTunes
I use the stock player on my Samsung, but needed to go with 3rd party on my Atrix. But for Samsung, hands down I LOVE the stock player!...

Since I got my Atrix I have been using the Google Music app. Streaming is nice however today I have asked myself why bother streaming when I have a 32 gig micro sd card sitting in my phone going unused? What music player has the best functionality as well as decent ui? What are my fellow Atrix users using?
(sold my iPad 2 deleted iTunes and I think that's what got me thinking about it)
Poweramp ftw.

Just bought poweramp! it looks nice . Google Music is my backup since I like to flash a lot. but Poweramp definitely looks nice .
*I did just install winamp on my pc. I am no longer under apple's tyranny!
Winamp is the ****! Been using it since forever!
I've tried doubletwist, but right now I am actually trying out Google Music and I kinda like it as a normal music player. It doesn't seem to respond to my bluetooth headphones right off the bat, but once I play something, it works. One thing it does that the ones I've tried so far is that it groups my "various artists" albums into one entry instead of one entry per artist. Doubletwist had them spread out, but if I selected one of the entries, it showed me all the songs on that album.
I also used titanium backup to freeze the built-in music player.
I love Google music. I sync my songs and we are all good in the cloud.

may I ask what you guys like about player pro?
I like player pro because of the UI and the features. It's truly beautiful. It does an excellent job with artist and album artwork. The buttons are also bigger than on Power Amp, making it easier to control when on an elliptical or treadmill.
PlayerPro wins hands down for me. Also, download the DSP pack.
I used winamp... really whips the lama's ass
Hi there,
this is a thread to discuss music player software for the galaxy tab. So far I found 2 nice software players:
Play Music:
the default player has a nice eye-candy ui that looks good on the tab, but other than that it doesn't have much going for it. It lacks an equalizer and visualizations.
Android Music Player by JRTStudio:
this player comes with a clean ui, allthough it doesn't seem to be particularly suited for tablet devices. It also lacks some sort of fullscreen music visualization, but it comes with a good equalizer built in. That way, you can enjoy your music.
WinAMP for Android:
horrible UI, totally unsuited for tablet devices, lack of visuals and equalizer (EQ only in pro version).
do you know any alternatives (free or paid)? It would be nice if the software could show a nice music visualization on the screen while playing music.
regards
Horscht

I find Power Amp great as well
Wow, PowerAMP looks really clean and works well. The sound options are just plain awesome. It still lacks visualizations but, damn this is a great player. But at a price of 4€ not exactly cheap either. Gonna keep on using the trial for now, see if it's really worth that price tag
I've been using Jukefox for a few days. The first time you run it you need to wait a bit, but that's because its loading album art and generating a tag cloud. Not sure if I like it or not - I usually go for a really clean simple UI. But the way it presents your music isn't like any other player I've seen before.
