Hello everyone,
I've searched for a solution over the forum but I didn't find any solution..
So my problem is that I can't use Odin because windows doesn't recognize my phone on Download mode.
I have the drivers installed, Kies and windows recognize my GS2 without problems.
I've tried with different cable, different USB port, uninstall/reinstall drivers many times, from Kies or from samsung web site.
I just have no idea why in download mode windows doesn't use the installed drivers..
Help?
Thanks!
Did you try in a different PC?
I am sure driver is the only cause. Perhaps you can try following. Install Kies, then connect phone once and check if Kies detects your phone
Which version of Windows are you using? I am using Windows 7 and its working fine. I did root yesterday and Windows detected drivers and also it had to download from net for some reason. In the end it did work
USB cable to main board connection .
Reboot phone turn USB debugging off .
Set USB to Mass storage mode .
Connect cable and let Windows find USB drivers .
jje
Did you terminate every Kies process before opening Odin?
Hello,
Thanks for the answers.
I'm running on windows 7 64. But it didn't try on another pc.
Windows does install drivers and recognize my phone in USB to Mass storage mode.
But still not recognize it in download mode and yes I've terminated every Kies process.
I know that in Download mode windows install some new/different (?) drivers. When I'm on download mode, windows fails to install driver as it's an "unknown device". Is there a way to install those drivers manually?
Hello,
Un-install Kies, reboot system, reinstall kies.
Still not work. After reboot and reinstalling Kies my phone was recognized, but in download mode there is still nothing.
If windows has USB drivers then download mode works .
Is USB debugging turned off .
Reboot phone
Enter download mode follow instructions on download mode screen .
Open Odin select files to flash
Connect Samsung USB cable to mainboard port .
Hit start on Odin .
jje
USB debugging is off.
But as windows don't recognize the device, Odin can't detect it in download mode.
It's really weird

Ok, I manage to get this working.
I did this:
-I have unplugged all the USB on my motherboard, I've uninstalled all the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" (to acces type devmgmt.msc in windows start menu)
-Turn off the PC and unplugged the power supply. Waiting like 3 minutes.
-Replug the power supply and boot.
-Replug all my USB, windows reinstalling everything.
-Plug my phone in download mode and windows finally installed the drivers and Odin detect it !
So if someone have a unknown device issue with a code 43, please try this.
Thanks for your time and answers.
Disabling the "unknown device" and then disconnecting and reconnecting my phone worked for me.
Run Kies as Administrator, Install Drivers
This is what worked for me. Kies said the Drivers were installed without Administrator but nothing worked

After try everything you can thing about this finnaly work!
You will need ODIN 4.38, some random full package ROM
1.Remove your SIM and Memory card
2.Load ODIN in your PC, and load the ROM files
3.Connect your Phone whit the PC via data cable and enter Download mode (Volume -; Home Button; Power Button)
note: if don't work, try another USB slot, my phone don't accept back USB's and i succed to connecting to front one!
4.Now ODIN should found your phone
5.After ODIN found your phone, disconnect the phone and reset him. It must work now

now when i attached it to pc with the supplied cable it neither mounts the drives .. nor it shows in adb devices . even though the usb debugging is enabled . and earlier i had no issue with it . when insert the cable to charger it starts charging .. but on connecting it to pc it does nothing there is nothing on the screen of mobile .. when i go to settings and developement and unchech and then check usb debugging it starts charging ( from pc) .. but still i cant see it in adb devices and neither does the device shows that it has been connected to usb .
cable is ok .. tried two cables no luck .
tried on another pc no luck .. i have 2 pcs earlier i had no issue in using adb/mass storage on either ..
i tried clering the /cache partiton from recovery ..

Hi everyone, I have a biig problem: my s3 stopped being detected by my computer.
I took off the Hard Disk from my pc for two days and I used it as a slave on another pc. Yesterday I put it back on my pc and my s3 isn't detected anymore. It's weird because I used eclipse and usb debugging everyday in the last few moths, so it worked completely fine.
I tried to uninstall drivers and install again - nothing changed. I tried to install/reinstall kies, change cable, change usb port and no luck.
I thought my phone was the problem so I connected it to a laptop and it worked! it was detected!
If I connect another phone to my pc it is detected, so it's just a problem between my pc and my s3.
I also tried to wipe cache/wipe dalvik.
I'm desperate cause I'm a developer, I need my phone to being detected!
Thanks in advance!
Install Samsung USB drivers that fails then its a PC problem

I already installed them! I'm going to think it's a pc problem, but it's weird that it detects every phone but my s3, isn't it?
I just noticed that also OTG doesn't work anymore... so it could be a phone problem, but it is detected from other laptops!
I'm confused
Use mainboard USB port .
Use USBDEVIEW tool to remover drivers from the port then clean install of drivers .

same problemm with my..... when i connect my mobile to pc , it behave just like wall charger. but today suddenly it also stop charging too.
but when i put my phone into download mode it detects with my Pc. but still not connecting in normal mode...........
Is it charging jack problem or else....
Try booting a live Linux(don't forget to add the udev rules and restarting udev) and see if your phone gets detected.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy J8 . My phone doesn't have any SD card. I was able to browse files of phone from my PC(ubuntu os) , even I could debug my app from android studio. But suddenly I am not able to do so. When I connect my phone via USB to my PC , it is only charging . What I did so far is following.
1. Enable developer option and usb debugging , changed default usb configuration to file transfer and image transfer and MIDI .
2. Restarted my phone.
3. Restarted my PC .
4. Change of USB cable and port .
5. At last factory reset .
After trying all above things , still I can't connect to phone via usb cable .
I think my pc , usb cable , usb port are working fine . Because when I connected another device , it works fine

Try connecting your phone to another PC/Laptop etc also change cables, if it works then it is the USB port on your PC having issues with the drivers uninstall the drivers from the system menu and reboot your PC. Important to note here is that doing so will also disable your mouse and keyboard so just tap the power key on your PC and it will shutdown.

Since the USB port is working it must be the USB cable/connectors see if you can replace it or test it with another cable, if the cable isn't the problem your USB port on the phone might be partially busted since it will allow for charging not data transfer. Something on the side, on my PC I need to unlock the screen to access my phone drive and SD card did you check for that?

Knox should not interfere with your USB connection.
