RR ROM is a AOKP based ROM so you can essentially use kernels like - CM9 Kernel
Siyah,Thoravukk,Fluxi or any other which supports AOKP based ROMS.

Try Resurrection remix 2.6.1. Based on ICS and stable as a rock. I'm pretty new myself and been using it for a while.Easy to install and no issues whatsoever. :good:
First of all, are you sure you have an i9100 and not an i9100G, a skyrocket (AT&T or Rogers), a Galaxy S2 LTE HD, etc?
If you do have an i9100, this is the forum for you. If not, try and find your right forum...
I'd look in the SGS2 android dev forums and not the Original Android Dev forums. Alot of cooks have ROMs with SGS3-like themes... And there's possibly a touchwiz5 mod in the themes section. I know the ripple lockscreen was ported too...
To be honest, alot of ROMs exist but it's a question of taste... I know Resurrection remix is a popular one. Alot of people switched to Cyanogenmod when ICS hit though, as ICS wasn't up to par for Samsung's implementation...
Your best bet is to flash a custom kernel with CWM recovery in Odin (Alot of guides to do this) like CF-Root and then grab ROMs and flash them through CWM. If you want a kernel that's able to dual boot, you can use DreamKernel, Siyah, etc. That way you can get one ROM going and test a second ROM as a secondary. Dual booting can be achieved because we have a 500MB partition on our phones that isn't used for anything... Fun, is it not?
And The other rom is pfittech ics rom and is also stable and he is working on stable jb rom as among other devs

I'd go with rootbox. Just because the dev updates more frequently does not mean it's a better rom. The ones who don't update frequently just mean they don't have bugs to fix...

I'm using the CyanogenMod latest version Nightly one. and whats the best in ur opinion ..?
The "best" is whatever you find a) works for you, and b) you are most happy with.
The term "best" is subjective, as each person will have a best, for them.

Pretty awesome you managed to get a custom rom on your phone without knowing what you're doing^^ Come on man, read a little bit, because asking if you actually HAVE a kernel is kind of... weird

Hey guys! I am new to this forum so plz excuse me if i am going to ask something silly!
I was wondering if all Custom roms you can get are compatible with other custom Kernels. And in particular i am interested in the compatibility of the eXperience v2 ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163800&highlight=bootloader) and this kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200510)
Thank you very much!
Misstyped "Kernal"... i meant Kernel of course

Thank you very much! Didnt know that kernel's have nothing to do with ROMs. So i suppose if i install this kernel and then flash another rom the kernel won't be flashed with the new ROM? I had the impression that the kernel is included in the ROMs
Hi. I'm a bit new to this, and was wondering if a way to improve my ace performance, would a custom stock android based ROM improve the phone? As at the moment it is laggy and has loads of bloatware taking up the internal memory.
So will doing this make the phone less laggy and improve performance?
Cheers!
Yes it will increase the performance but depends on the ROM you're using.
After flashing a custom rom, you can apply additional tweaks to it. Which hence increase performance, smoothness, network speed etc ; depending on the tweaks.
Also with more performance, there is a price to pay! You will be facing alot of battery drianage. But that depends again on the tweaks you applied.
Most Custom Rom have inbuilt tweaks with them. That makes them special and are good.
To be honest, i think stock rom is the best except for the look though.

SGS3 v5 is not JB. It's Gingerbread
And it's a little bit immoral to compare, suggest or show preference towards certain ROMs
Not only that, but it's also against rules
also my first rom was mind cr 2.9 looks great and works great contacs works if you flash their version i u use your version mine was m conttcs wold not appear they ha vea rom that flashing that with odin then mind cr will read contacs.

Im currently using Android Revolution HD 29.0... Its working very good on my I9300. Very fast and stable!
If you want a total stock rom with no mods i would recommend Viking way: Its only 364 MB with all bloat removed.
The kernel i like the most is stock kernel (Which comes on Android Revolution HD) But if you are looking for a custom kernel that supports overclocking go for Siyah Kernel
Siyah is very old now.
