[Q] Problem with installing CyanogenMod - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
So I did step by step as it says in here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_II:_Full_Update_Guide
I've installed ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4, copied update-cm-7.1.0-GalaxyS2-signed on my memory-card and when I want to install it I get error like that:
s1.pokazywarka.pl/bigImages/1131658/3853332.jpg
I've tried reinstalling ClockworkMod Recovery 5.5.0.4 and it didn't help. I even installed it through ODIN and the result was the same as when installed using Heimdall Suite.
Any ideas how to solve this? : /
Cheers!

Usually you get that error when you try installing a i9100 rom on a phone that is not that the i9100.
Im guessing you have some other version of SGS2. (Any US version, or even the i9100G version, and etc)

Ok, problem solved. I have installed Omega v15 and it works : ) Now I have to unlock my simcard. I've tried Galaxy S2 Sim Unlock, Galaxy S Unlock, Samsung Galaxy S Unlock tool from Play store and they do not work. Do you know any other free sim unlock solutions? : )

[q] cwm error status 7 need to know asap

im running the latest clockwork recovery on my galaxy s2 and it wont install roms keeps giving me status 7 error how do i fix this i tried re installing the zip moving the to the sd card didnt work
Sounds like you don't have an I9100. Check your model number.
Or you do and you're trying to install ROMs for a different device.
Nope it a i9100 international version the Rom is a s2 i9100 rom no matter what rom I try I get the same error even ones I've flashed before and have worked

[Q] How to Root and Flash using the latest tools..

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to flash a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 running Stock Android v.4.0.3 on Baseband I9100XXLPH.
I've searched a lot of threads but it seems that over the years there are 5 billion ways on how to root, install CWM and flash a ROM.
I'm not a 100% noob in this area as I successfully unlocked, rooted and flashed my HTC One X lately but:
Could someone please tell me the easiest way of rooting, installing CWM and flashing CM9.1 using the latest tools out there? Please also let me know on how to upgrade the Firmware if thats needed. I tried using Kies already but It keeps telling me that the device doesn't support that. And if someone could explain to me what a insecure kernel is compared to a original one, that would be fantastic!
I've already tried flashing CWM 5.8.1.5 using the standard samsung recovery but once I select "apply update from external storage" and select the CWM zip it starts CWM but after one reboot its gone again. I can repeat these steps everytime I would need CWM but isn't it supposed to replace the default samsung recovery?
Thanks in advance!

GT-S5839i stuck at boot after flashing custom ROM

Hello,
I installed the (RazerDroid v2.5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816611.
After installing the ROM successfully (without any errors), I did a reboot, and since then the phone doesn't boot up beyond the Samsung Galaxy Ace logo. I am unable to go into recovery mode as well.
What should I do now? Is the phone dead? Any way to recover it?
Many thanks!
More information: My phone was locked to 3 Mobile UK network. I rooted the device first, then installed CWM prior to installing the ROM.
Use Odin Package According To Your Country Firmware After Flashing It You Will Be On Stock Rom

[Q] s2 flashing problem

I brought galaxy s2 from three carrier in UK. Accidently I hard brick my phone and flash firmware from sammobile. Com via odin . Everything is fine in this jellybean stock rom. Now I can't flash any custom rom. It gives status 7 errors. I tried many roms. I updated cmw recovery to latest version by rom manager but still can't flash any. Does other stock rom changes s2 model number. For now it's showing gt i9100.Was it att or tmobile or skyrocket or else when I brought it? Why can't I flash rom? Why there is no twrp available for galaxy s2 this model? Help me guys. God bless you!
I've had that error on kk ROMs when tried to flash from old recovery. If I remember you should have at least 6.0.47 recovery version. Try to flash Gustavo_s kernel,Apollo or doromanx and try to flash again.
When flashing via recovery cwm has a security check that checks the model of your phone to the model of what rom you are flashing . If they do not match It returns status 7 error which prevents from installing wrong rom and hardbricking your phone .
Error can happen when recovery is not updated . A simple fix is to make sure you are on the latest recovery .
TWRP : I think it doesn't have the security check however :
INSTALLING WRONG ROM WILL MOST LIKELY HARD BRICK YOUR DEVICE
I am sure you know that already .
There is TWRP for i9100 . There are methods to remove the security check via editing the rom but it is not recommended

Thank you guys for reply. I flash kernel once and it was struck on boot screen. As you said there is twrp available for galaxy s2. I have heard lot of positive vibes about twrp. But in their official website s2 gt I9100 is not listed. It's only for s2 Exhilarate SGH-i577. Is it correct? Any working twrp download link for particular I9100 model? I have heard that twrp are less likely to status 7 errors.
Apparently twrp is not officially supported by i9100 however there are ports by other people . I know because of my last attempt to install cm11 snapshot m8 after flashing gone abit wrong I was getting status 7 error even on my backups .
Try installing (or using kernel) omni-rom . It is available with cwm or twrp kernels ... not sure how it fits with carriers though ...

How did you recover from last brick ? Did you flashed stuff or had the mainboard changed ?

Bricked Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 TRIED EVERYTHING, BUT CANNOT UNBRICK. pls help :s

So I recently got my hands on an international Samsung Galaxy S3. The device is bricked. I've already had a lot of experience with unbricking this device and I've always done it succesfully. However this time everything fails.
The situation: Currently running Clockworkmod Recovery 6.0.4.6, which is (more or less) the latest for this device. I've got an 8 GB micro SD-card, so flashing custom roms should work just fine. Unfortunately though, this is not the case. I've tried several roms already: cyanogenmod 10, 11, 12, 13, Blisspop, Blekota, Revolutionary android HD, S5-rom, Archidroid, Archiport, ParanoidAndroid... and they all fail to be flashed correctly through CWM. Some of them come with the Aroma-installer. The wizard launches succesfully and I've managed to install Archiport and Blekota with it. At the end of the wizard I get the prompt that the rom installed correctly. But when I reboot the device afterwards... still bricked!
I've also tried to install roms via Odin (3.07, 3.09, 3.10 .... ) but none of them installed right. Odin says "NAND Write start...." and then "FAIL!" Everytime, or Odin just crashes.
The only clue I can think of is Clockworkmod that's causing all these conflicts... I've had more succes in the past by using TWRP or PhilzTouch. So I tried to flash these other recoveries via Odin, which fails every time with every version of the recovery. I also tried to flash it using CWM. Here I get the message that the zip installed correctly, but when I reboot into recovey again I'm still running CWM.
Like I said, I've tried EVERYTHING. It's very unusual that NOTHING works.
Am I missing something?
Thanks
Brick in what sense????
