After replacing systemui whenever i start phone it shows upgrading android (start applications)
the OS checks if something was changed in system, and then it optimize the apps.
its normal and just after a modifikation...
Problem is, it shows the message on EVERY boot now... anyway to get rid of it?
Try wiping cache and dalvik cache and boot again. It should upgrade once more and then stop afterwards.
Kind of a strange issue if you haven't changed anything

Hello all
First of all sorry if this question has been asked. Usually I can find my answers myself by searching but can't this time. First of all I'm using d3rpICS_DRAMA_DM2. Last I was playing with the leedroid tweaks under the profiles settings. I switched it to sense 3.6. Now since I did that I keep getting a popup every 30 seconds or so saying system ui has stopped. I hit ok and it let's me continue what I was doing. I finally found the rom I liked and got my phone set up how I like so I'm wondering if there is a way to fix it or do I just have to flash again.

My first guess would be that the SystemUI.apk has the wrong permissions.
Either use the "Fix Permissions" in LeeDroid tweaks or do it by going into recovery and use Fix Permissions from there.
Or, if you know how, you can do it manually for just the SystemUI.apk and go into the /system/apps/ folder with Root Explorer or equivalent and chance the permissions to rw-r--r--
Be sure to reboot (i personally do a cold boot each time i mess with system files, meaning i shut it off, remove battery and then put it back together and boot up) after each time you fix permissions.
If that doesn't work, try and open the ROM.zip file with WinZip or similar and manually copy the SystemUI.apk (and SystemUI.odex if the rom is odex) from the .zip to the /system/apps/ folder. This is incase the SystemUI file(s) were somehow damaged/corrupted when flashed (very very unlikely, but can happen).

I did do the reboot with the battery out. I'm gonna try that other stuff you suggested. I'll get back to ya. Thanks for the help.

You need to remove the Odex file in the cache or wipe the cache partition (doesn't cause any data loss, just a longer first boot next time you restart it)

thx
Luck patcher is not welcome here. Do not even mention it and stick to the rules.
The solution was given to you.
Remove odex file from data/app using root explorer.

Anyone else using Cerberus? When i change some settings the phone reboots. It also never takes a pic on incorrect password on lockscreen.
I use cerebrus on my unlocked unrooted HTC One. Works perfectly, flawlessly, without any crashes
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
If you're using stock kernel then yes, it will reboot on settings save. This happens because Cerberus writes the settings to an xml file in /system/etc so that it can still function even after a factory reset (which wipes data but not system.)
Problem is the stock kernel blocks remount rw and writes to the system partition, thus the reboot.
You'll need to find a custom kernel with rw enabled.
I am running complete stock. Cerebrus works perfectly without any reboots. It even sends me an email of the person as soon as someone enters a wrong unlock code

No problems here with Cerberus on my H1. Running ARHD 7.3 though with teaMSeven kernel.
Maybe I'll install the flash zip style one.

You can do that from within the app, but you want to make sure you reset the dial code to something you remember too.

Hey jasunto, did you ever get the rebooting to stop? Just rooted my HTC One M7 and installed cerberus through recovery and it reboots every time i change settings. Am a newbie at this. thanks
Well, I was just been trying some build.prop tweaks to get lower screen dencity on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0(running kitkat 4.4.2) and there are generally 2 lines with same name ro.sl.lcd.density=160 (default)( one under screen brightness settings and other under system info)
What i did was that i changed both these to 140 and rebooted(used romtoolbox, its good enough to get a backup or original before even touching it) after the reboot, my systemUI started to crash repeatedly , not letting me open any app, i tried being fast enough to change the values to default but was not able to because systemUI was crashing too fast.
So i decided to use twrp recovery to paste the backup one to original place(/system) so i opened terminal in twrp at / location(root) and typed "cp /sdcard/romtoolbox/build.prop-backups/build.prop /system"(renamed trhe backup file already in file manager in twrp) and it did copying, but the problem was not solved(systemUI crashing) after reboot i tried repeatedly by first deleting build.prop from /system and then copying from backup to there
i checked it was there by typing "ls" by opening terminal in /system and it showed build.prop was there but all this didnt helped me to get my systemUI to respond normaly
so i flashed full stock md5(from sammobile.com) and it is running now
i wanted to ask why was the process i opted didnt worked? what went wrong?
actually when i used to have 4.1.2 on my tab, there were 2 lcd density , but one was 160 and other was 240, so i used to change 160 one to 140 to get tabletUI(I like tabletUI the most) and it went normally with some samsung's default apps not working, or works distorted, but i was happy with that, so when i flashed 4.4.2 to it then i thought to get tabletUI again, but was stuck with the problem stated above!
though it is working now, I just want to know the reason for why didnt my process worked out

Need Help Pls! I have successfully revert my Dell Venue 3830 to its Android Jelly Bean (also have it rooted) but the screen keeps on freezing after few minutes and it's really annoying that you have to turn the power button off and on every now and then so that the screen will respond.

Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum for more relevant answers.

Have you tried without your sd card in it?
Formatting data and system and reinstalling from like bricked state yet?
Maybe your system files are fluffed and since factory reset only leaves you with an untouched system partition of the same you had before factory reset.
There's also to account what apps you may have deleted.
They don't come back after a factory reset either.
I'm not sure from where you started having this happen or if it always happened to you and it's just getting worse
but clean state may be the whistle you need blown.
Time Out,
start from scratch.
Backups? If so What method?
There's a bunch of specifics that need to be addressed in order to help you best.
Start from scratch again is your best solution!

mmm i see
can you tell me what packages do you flashed in the rom (ex. system img or zip)
you said that you rooted your tablet are you using xposed?
After thinking a while in the night i've to mention 2 things:
-is a system issue or
-is an user apps issue
In any of these i have some suggestions to :
For know if is an user apps issue you can try the "safe mode" that disables the user apps, if the screen still freezes is your rom.
If the screen not freezes you can to probe any one of your apps for search the problem (i.e root apps and xposed modules) or as the web says the task killers and/or battery savers, i consider this option because i installed a battery saver and after that my tablet freezes when screen off ( is not at the moment and i don't know when the screen freeze will appear )
And if is a system issue i have some suggestions to you:
-maybe is for some files ( maybe is only my tablet but a bootloop occurs when you overwrite a file that is not made for the rom i.e. a flashable zip made for other devices that improves the sound with modif libs.so or something), other possibility will be that you erase any, some or all .odex file(s) in the case of one or some more .odex files you can extract them from the package, paste them in the same directory where you erase them set the correct permissions (see in the folder the permissions of the other files and set it to the files that you paste in that folder) and reboot your tablet.
-In other options your root is damaged or wrong (i don't believe that but i want to cover the possibilities that comes to my mind). In that case you can try to flash again the rom and root again your device (with the same method or other method), or probe without root if the screen freezes.
There is other option and is change of rom, the dell venue 3830 has three versions of android ( i'm not sure of that i only have see three) two jelly bean (4.2.2 and 4.3) and kitkat (4.4.2) (i'm not count the developer version is 4.3 too ) download any of them and install, you can search them in xda
I'm not responsible for bricked devices it's at your own risk
I have probe these suggestions and my tablet still works but before to probe these suggestions you must have a method for unbrick your tablet if something goes wrong (i.e. CWM backup or rom zip that works in your sd card, in the case for USB logo i've read about something for intel devices (xfstkdownloader i think, i don't have probe it i not have seen this in my tablet .........yet)
If you have questions you can ask this suggestions may work for you
Sorry for my bad english
plz fix this dell
Did anyone fixed this???

I don't know nobody have reply nothing
Other thing that you can do is check your system storage (I'm not talking about the 11 gb of internal storage) The OS has aprox. 1 gb apart of the rest of the storage and with the kk stock rom these storage can only have 20mb free; The JB stock roms have almost 200mb free or more, I think that is the reason of the speed of JB roms and the screen freezing in kk
I have actually a modified kk rom by me (I only deodex it (stock roms comes odexed adding space)) and the system partition is near of the 150mb free
And its faster the storage tock ones so check your system partition
Other causes may be the use of the tablet while charging while playing hard games ( I have one of 7mb and really warms my tablet at the point of make my screen unresponsive) a solution of this is using an external fan
In the worst of cases your display needs to take it to service or warranty (but first un-root )
Exactly....thats the point
I just send my tab to its wrnty service (without root)
And they said they will replace the display+monitor
I didnt get it yet
Hope they can fix this
If u are in warnty
Sent it to dell

i bought my tablet in internet and i received it at the first week of 2015 but i don't know if still is in warranty also i never have to sent something to warranty.
my tablet works only with a bug:when i unplug it from pc tranfer with screen off, the micro sd unmounts itself
BTW i can live with it and with my part-modified rom my tablet is faster even with 1GB of free internal storage and many xposed modules
i hope that your tablet returns without the screen problem
Thats is a small problem....you have
I have some major bugs in my venue
Touch freezes..,..blackscreen,internel heating and lot more
For checking warrenty....you have to go to the dells official site.....if you are rooted....first unroot it ...and sent it to dell's service centre...if you are interested

More of that: my tablet has Cwm recovery so I don't think that only un-root can get back the warranty
Do you install xposed or something related to root?
When dell will give your tablet back?
Will get it in 28
I too installed cwm recovery
But i reflashed the rom to stock rom fullyyy:thumbup: via fastboot
