Thanks, I have google these files but can't find them
copy the CM5.0.8 for N1 calendar & provider apk to your phone, and install them via file manager or app-installer and verify that the calendar works, once it does, if you want to move them to /system/app go ahead, just reboot one last time if you do.

Here is Cyanogen'd forum and N1 stable eclair to pull the calendar. I assume these are the same based off the post he reference, no guarantee from me though.

It doesn't say anything about calendar on the post.
the apk's are in the cyanogen rom zip. download the whole zip file from cyanogen (5.08 is the lastest eclair rom) and extract. apk's are in the /system/app folder
Even better, here is a post I just found with the stock TW Calendar app, plus others: found here, thanks to the3dman

You must use adb or root explorer to "install" them. You cant just install them like a regular apk.
ADB:
adb push whatever.apk /system/app/ (do the same with the .odex file)
Root explorer:
Just copy the files from your sd to the system folder and reboot.
Yeah, just drop them in the folder.

This ADB Push thing is really difficult!
This is what I've tried and I get an error
Edit: I did the ADB Devices command and it didn't detect my phone. And yes, the phone is in debugging mode.
C:\sdk\tools>adb push TouchWizCalendar.apk /system/app/TouchWizCalendar.apk
error: device not found
I put Touchwizcalendar.apk and odex in tools folder but still doesn't work. Can you walk me through this?
Got it to recognized my device but now getting "Permission denied"
C:\sdk\tools>adb push touchwizcalendar.apk /system/app/touchwizcalendar.apk
failed to copy 'touchwizcalendar.apk' to '/system/app/touchwizcalendar.apk': Per

Accidentally deleted stock clock and now need ClockPackage.odex

I uninstalled the stock clock because I thought that would delete the clock widgets instead. Restoring did not help, so I searched the forum and found this: (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070083)
According to the thread, I would need ClockPackage.apk and ClockPackage.odex to get the stock clock back. I have found ClockPackage.apk here, so all I need now is ClockPackage.odex. Could anyone please upload the odex file here, please? Thanks in advance.
Help, please. I'd greatly appreciate any help.
are you on a stock rom? how did you uninstall a system app? Guessing you have root so just put the clockpackage.apk in system/app, give it the right permissions, reboot and it'll be fine (hopefully), the phone should generate a new odex for the apk
Extract those original files from your downloaded "Rom" package and copy it to your mobile. Use root explorer to copy the file to system\app and set the right permissions.

Yes, it is rooted. Also, I did put the apk file in system/app and I got the app back on the application menu. However, it crashes whenever I try to run it.

Right. Download my ROM for example and extract Email.apk from zip file. Then copy it using RootExplorer or adb into /system/app on your phone. Change permissions to rw-r-r. Reboot.

Excuse my ignorance, but i can't seem to extract from any of the ROM's ive downloaded (can't find the link to yours if i click the ics one in your signature it just takes me to a long thread with no obvious links). I know how to use adb to get the file onto the phone, but cant figure out how to get it out of the .tar.ext4 file ?
download blazer rom : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746184
then use 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to open the zip.
navigate to system/app and find email.apk
extract it from there (drag and drop it out of the 7zip window to your desktop)
then copy that to your phone ... either use adb to push it to system/app or use root explorer on your phone.
hope that helps
Hi, I realize that your rom says that it's just for Sprint, if I were to download it and take the contacts.apk from it, would that not work on my AT&T galaxy SIII?
I accidentally disabled it and am currently trying to find a way to get it back onto my phone. :'( *I already looked at my settings>applications>all and it's not there. [contact storage is there, but I can't find the application that I use to actually read that, after the disabling.//I raged on it for continually popping up on my advanced task manager.]

I rooted (using this method: http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-s3-sch-i535-root-101633/) and ended up using the non-bloatware version and apparently the regular email app was considered bloatware for some reason because it disappeared.
So I tried following your instructions, but there was no "email.apk" in the download, so I figured you probably meant "exchange.apk." Followed the instructions, moved it to system\app, changed the permissions, and rebooted but it's still not showing. So I went back to try to install it manually, and it just tells me it wasn't installed successfully (and yes, I have "unknown sources" selected).
I am also not sure if this is the stock GSIII email app, based on the icon. Looks like the old yellow email icon to me.

[Q] Noob - accidentally removed DownloadProvider.apk

Hello all,
I'm a complete noob in Android and programing, and accidentaly deleted DownloadProvider.apk (using root unninstaller), and trying to remove another app that came installed in my Samsung Galaxy Y Pro Duos...
Can anybody help me with a solution that doesn't need programing and/or advanced knowledge of Android? All works fine, except I cant install any apps, from Google Play or other source...
Help needed really really bad...
Thanks to you all
Find a stock Rom and download
Extract it
Find the apk
Put it back

Seems You are rooted, on what Rom you are just download it, extract it, go into system->app find DownloadProvider.apk Fix permission to rw-r-r, reboot, done..
Yap, I'm rooted (that was hard for me but managed it lol).
So, I don't know what ROM i'm using (and even were to find it or one to my mobile).
To extract it, what program should I use? because I can't install anything without the app I've deleted by accident...
To go to System->app, I must use an app to do hat, right?... same problem, can't install...
Damn, i'm stupid to have deleted it...

Your respected thread is here.
Which region you belong select and download that through your computer, after downloading is finished, you'll find a zip file, open it by double cliking, go into system, then go into app, find DownloadProvider in app folder, drag directly it to your desktop, connect your mobile to computer, put DownloadProvider.apk in your SD card, detach from computer, if you have root explorer or efs file explorer, move this DownloadProvider.apk from SD card to System->app, fix permission to rw-r-r-, reboot, you are done:victory:

Thank you very very much _hito_
Just two more questions:
1) i'm in Portugal (Europe), what ROM should I choose?
2) I don't have root explorer or efs file explorer. would ZDBox do it? or how can I move it? with the built in explorer that came with the phone?
Thanks again

Adobe reader app not running when zipped with custom rom on sgs3

HI,
I downloaded Adobe Reader apk and pasted in the /system/app folder.
Made a backup of the firmware using nandroid.
Copied the adobe Reader apk to /system/bin of the nandroid backup after using Android Kitchen.
Zipped the Rom and flashed it on the sgs3 phone.
All apps in /system/app work except for adobe reader apk.
The message being displayed is "Unfortunately,Adobe Reader has stopped"
Kindly help.
Thanks & Regards,
Milind
If apk has libs files in it. Paste them in /system/libs and set correct permissions
The error message is not coming but the app closes down without any warning

Hey jamal.. thanks for the insight. I tried copying the file in the /system/bin.
The error message is not coming now but theAdobe reader still doesn't open.
Any more clues? is it mandatory for the apk to have an odex file.
Also do we have to make any changes to settings if we have to put it in /system/app folder?
Opps: Copied the .so files in /system/lib
