First, WITHOUT USING ANY 3RD PARTY APPS
If someone calls from a blocked/restricted number, is there any function in the Titan that would allow me to set it to not ring (or to only vibrate, or have a special ringer for only restricted calls)? I tried making a contact called restricted, but that didnt work.
Second, if the above is not possible, what are some 3rd party apps that I might try? I never pick up blocked calls, and I dont even want to hear it ring.
It's not exactly a 3rd party application, more like a service; check out www.youmail.com . If somebody with a blocked number calls me, it says "the number you are calling does not take calss from unidentified callers, please hang up and reveal your number."

Ummm.... There has to be a million. Ok not that many but seriously There are even some that are developed on XDA! I could find that one though ;c(
Here is one that is pretty popular. Im sure others will chime in with there favorites too.

I could swear I had done this in the past.... But I cant figure it out now.
You can try Ringo... it might do the trick...

If you dont want to hear it ring... I recommend SPB Phone Suite...
It has a blacklist feature to ignore calls.. ignore and never ring.
Also it has a great today plugin for showing your vmail, unread messages.. etc (I recommend turning off the big buttons though.. the default look is ugly IMHO)
And my favorite feature, you can set the phone to vibrate, or silent for a period of time (5 mins, 15mins, 30 mins.. etc) This is a life saver since I often need to silence my phone for meetings, and then a few hours later I realize... I have 20 missed calls because I never set it back.
### Edit ###
I just set SPB Phone suite to blacklist "Private" calls.
I then blocked caller ID and called from my home phone... Nothing.. no ring, no flash, the phone ignored it.
It did ring on the callers end the normal number of rings before going to vmail... I.E. it didn't go right to vmail like when you hit ignore.
Superb. SPB Phone Suite does exactly what I want with regards to calls from blocked numbers.
Thanks!

This site is very slick. Thank you for sharing it.
To test ignoring calls I added my desk phone number to the block list. I called it up, my phone woke up, but never rang and didn't give a notice of a missed call. My desk phone was greeted with the message I left it on youmail.com which happened to be the default smart greeting. Very very cool to have this feature without installing a thing on my phone.
Since around the beginning of March I noticed that my phone is showing completely random numbers for all outgoing calls for people that I have in my contacts list. The numbers that it shows are not numbers that I have dialed or received calls from in the past. (If I long-press one of the dialed numbers, the "Call +***-***-****" line displays the correct number), so it seems to be more of an appearance issue. The numbers displayed seem to be consistent for the person I call. I do not remember making any changes around the time this started, but I did notice it about 1 week after it started, so I don't remember exactly.
The correct person is displayed, just a completely random number. When I called Verizon they had never heard of this issue, and the numbers it is displaying are not Verizon numbers. The area codes for the numbers are for completely different parts of the country.
The only dialing related program I have installed is Google Voice, but I am not making these calls using it.
Complete factory reset fixes it, but I don't want that so I did a nandroid restore afterwards. Clearing the recent calls list does not fix the issue.
See attachment for image of what it is doing. I would have linked it but apparently I need 8 more posts to do so.

Basically, I am used to the number being displayed as XXXXXXXX on my old phones instead of XXX XXX XXXX(sgs2) i.e it has spaces, is it at all possible to tune the way it's displayed?
Also, as a side question. No idea what I've done, but every time I receive an SMS, the number is being read out loud by the phone. I want to disable this, I have no idea how it was even enabled in the first place. I have not installed any programs related to SMS and so forth.
To disable the voice goto settings>accesability and turn off talk back
Some of you may remember this from Android 4.3, some might not even know it exists, on some devices is included in stock ROM (as I know Samsung devices and Sony devices have it...lucky them)
On short, there was an option in dialer settings labeled "Network event notification" that showed when you were receiving a diverted call (shown as "INCOMING CALL (FORWARDED)" instead of just "INCOMING CALL") or it showed when you call somebody and that person is already engaged in a call (shown as "DIALING (WAITING...)" instead of just "DIALING")
This information was nicely integrated within the AOSP in-call UI and was shown on that blue bar that is showing up until call is answered.
There are some hypothetical scenarios to use that, one being the case in which you have two phones/numbers and one is "personal/private" and the second is a "business" one. Say after working hours you will divert the "business" number to your "private" one just not to miss an eventually important call from office or a client. If you receive a call but this function is not in, you cannot tell if the call you're receiving is from a person that dialed your personal number or is someone calling on your work one. If we have back this option we can easily see that while phone is ringing and decide if we take the call or not.
Also when we call someone it's useful to see that the other party is engaged in a call already so we wont keep ringing and eventually get frustrated when the one we're calling is not answering (being in a call, most people do not reject an incoming second call, they just let it ring). We could easily see from first seconds that our call is "waiting" and we could hang up and try again later.
So if it is possible I would like to kindly ask for adding back this feature that we miss since KitKat is out. In the early KitKat builds there was even the option present in the dialer settings (ported from the previous Android version) but it never worked. Eventually in some ROMs it was event taken out, probably the devs considered it either useless or they didn't want to bother with it. Currently there is no KitKat ROM having this function working as far as I know (except if it was included in a stock ROM by the device manufacturer)
Thank you, hoping for a positive feedback...
Hi does anyone know if there was ever something done for this?
Bump, I also would really like to have this functionality back and it should not be too difficult to implement
Please use the QUOTE feature when replying to me to get my attention. Thanks!
I know there have been no major updates for the H932 in the last handful of months, but for some reason lately my Messages and a few other LG-based apps have started showing a pink SIM card icon next to every single conversation and at the top of the screen. I feel like this has something to do with T-Mobile DIGITS but I've been using the app for over 4 months now and this change just recently happened. It has jacked with all of my text messages and makes it look like the sent and received text messages are all from the same person and I've tried everything I know how in order to get this stupid little icon to go away and from what I've seen even factory resetting the device only works for so long before the icons come back and screw up everything all over again. i really do hope this is ust the DIGITS app making its presence known, since I can tap on the icon in messages and see my own phone number listed as the only option beside it.
I'd rather not have to give up the DIGITS app since it has been a lifesaver for me allowing me to answer phone calls using the Windows app from my computer and not having to hunt my phone down and miss important phone calls. DIGITS is the only service I know of on Android that allows me to remotely answer phone calls, receive and respond to texts and a few other niceties that I have yet to see another Windows app replicate to this degree but if anyone has suggestions then I am open ears. Having said that though, I'm hoping that there's a way to completely remove the SIM card icons from my Messages and Phone applications using ADB or something similar and deleting a few non-rooted files or freezing an application. If anyone knows how to remove this horrible "feature" from my phone I'd be greatly appreciative. If this fails to work I would even be willing to at least disable DIGITS altogether as long as there's still a way to remove the icons from my LG-approved apps. I can't really afford to keep factory resetting but if that's something I have to do and it will revert the phone back to stock state I'd even consider rooting this POC at this point. Any help would be appreciated.
