Hello there,
I recently found the ROM to upgrade the Droid Razr XT912 to JB. Went through the process and it all worked out fine...however I have noticed a few things that I was hoping to get help with.
1.When trying to go into camera it shows up for a second then freezes and a popup says Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped.
2.When going into system settings it has Cyanogen mod infomation there but under OTA updates(Not sure if they are cyanogen mod updates or Verizons) it says Error fetching update info: Invalid ROM(STOCK0JB-cm_spyder) and device(cdma_spyder) combo!
Just trying to find out what I need to do to get the camera working, the other thing may just be as intended with this ROM.
It is the one located at this url here on the site.

From the thread where you downloaded:
What Doesn't Work?
Webtop
HDMI
FFC Video
Camera Flash
Bugs?
Normal CM10 bugs like the screen rotation shrinkage.
Volumes
Bluetooth
Maybe more, you tell me!

AND not all roms support OTA updates.
Hey, here is a good idea..... Go read the thread where you downloaded from. There might be an answer in there. And while you are at it, why not post your question in that thread?
EDIT: There are other people with the same problem in that thread. Not sure if there is a fix. READ IT. Oh, and I notice you cannot post since you only have two posts. Go help 8 people and then you can post your question in the thread if it isn't solved already.
I fixed the problem by downloading a third party camera app for ICS. I would have posted there if I could have, the problems I read about all related to just the flash on the camera not working...not the whole camera itself. I must have missed it in the 12 pages.
I apologize. Did a search for my problem and could not find anyone saying the keywords I was looking for. Thanks for the response as unhelpful as it was.

There is still time to go help 7 people and get your 10 posts. Then you won't have this problem in the future if your problem is not addressed in that thread.
You have been a member here since June!!

Thanks for letting me know. My caffeine level is fine though. Thanks for your concern.
I was just pointing out that the OP should read the thread for his specific ROM. That would be the best place for info.
If he had read it (instead of searching it) he would see that there are a few other people that are having the same problem. There are also a few suggestions as to what might be causing the problem and a suggested fix.
That's all I'm saying brah!
And if he would have found a few minutes to make a few posts over the last 6 months that he has been a member here, he would have been able to post in the thread where he is most likely to get an answer from the other people running that ROM, including the DEV.
That's all I was saying!
But again, thanks for your concern about my caffeine levels.

Use Google translate. You have to join the site. You have to wait 24 hours. Then you have to click on the link in the first post, it will send you to an empty post for you to make, you make that post (anything you put there is fine), and then you can go back to the first post and download the updated rom. There are two versions of the rom, one for flashing from the card and one for flashing with the cable.
Sorry, I have nowhere to upload it for you, so I can't send you my copies.
I am waiting for my phone to arrive. I got the Etotalk rom, so my hope is that they are using the updated rom version and it will already be fixed.

Are you talking about the G2 or G2S?
Please keep us informed about any improvements with your display problems after updating the rom.

My guess is that he really is talking about the G2S. This is a known problem, and Jiayu immediately issued the updated rom to correct this problem. In addition, the web page says that after installation of the new rom, the user must not touch the screen during the first boot before the unlock slider appears. Here are their words, as translated by Google:
Note: After the upgrade is complete, the first boot, the phone screen did not appear before sliding unlock switch, the phone can not power off (do not pull the battery), the hands can not touch the screen, otherwise it will affect the touch screen problem correction! ! !

BTW, where is the place here in XDA developers that we are supposed to be talking about the Jiayu G2S? I would prefer to move this conversation over there, but I can't find an "official" forum.

Someone started a new thread regarding the screen issues here. You are right we should have a G2S thread to collect all the information in one place together. At the moment everything regarding the GS2 is distributed over the forum.

Yeah, I don't like having to look all over the place. I was posting at least some in the Jiayu G2 thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736279
Maybe that is the best place to take our conversations? The G2S is very different from the G2, so I don't know if that is right either.
I'm very interested in getting a ClockworkMod Recovery image for this phone. But I don't have the phone yet, so there is little I can do yet.

Yes, I posted in the same thread as well. I feel a little bit lost between the g2 and the g3 related stuff.
Have you ordered a G2S already?
I'am very close to it. The only thing I'am still missing is a decent review of the first batch devices which are sold at the moment and reliable information about the fixing of the jump screen problem. I'am not very keen on getting a G2S and have to realize that the jump screen is based on a hardware problem. I could not read anywhere that the jump screen problem is really sorted out with the last software update. It is only mentioned that it has been improved as far as I understood the posts in the chinese forums.
To build a cwm recovery for the G2S should not be a problem, I reckon.

John

No, I don't think I have any more information than you. I have been looking at the Jiayu forums for information as well. It seems that the "official" Jiayu statement is that the jump screen problem is fixed by the software update: http://bbs.ejiayu.com/thread-395114-1-1.html
It's a bit more comforting to hear that they acknowledge the problem and have (are?) working on it. All of the other problems mentioned in that post are not causing me to worry.
Unfortunately my previous phone broke, so I am forced to wait no longer. So I ordered the phone already. Although it is DHL shipping, I think it might take some time to arrive. I ordered it from Etotalk and had them install their mod rom. I had already asked if it was based on the newest rom and they replied that it was. But I would suggest waiting for a while if you possibly can. There is always some risk when you buy a phone from a lower tier manufacturer and they are using really new technology.
While I wait for my phone, I need to learn how to use the tools for creating a CWM Recovery. I have already created a modified rom from the official download, but I have no phone to install it on. Unfortunately, I don't find a recovery.img file in the rom I downloaded. I am assuming I will need to pull it from the rom on the phone when I get it, but maybe I just don't know where to look for it. Any help anyone has would be appreciated.

There is a great tutorial how to create a recovery mod for the G2S here. As soon as I get a G2S I will build a recovery following that tutorial.
Like you I have read through all the well known forums and not that well known forums to gather all information I could get regarding the mediatek chipset 6577 phones. Now the time has come to make use of it. Difficult to wait any longer.
Btw, I read that DHL express delivers bloody fast, only 4 days for shipping from China to Germany was the best. I hold thumbs that you'll get it as fast as that lucky guy.
Could you please backup the Etotalk rom before you customize it? Most likely I'am going to order mine at mixe and I would like to test the Etotalk rom.
Regards,
John

I will definitely backup the Etotalk rom before going any further. But I suspect it is going to have very little changed from the stock rom because I only need English and Traditional Chinese. So it might not be localized in a way that can work well for you (depending on what you need).
I also suspect that it is very easy for them to modify the rom. Already they have Jiayu's official update that is pre-rooted or at least has Superuser in the rom (so rooting will be easy). Then they just delete a few useless apps and the rom is done, as long as it is just in English and Chinese. But any user can delete those apps immediately after rooting, so that is not significant either.
Thanks for the link. I will definitely look at that when I have some time later today or tomorrow.
I will also need to work on installing the tools for backing up and flashing roms. On my Huawei U8220, I made many rom mods and distributed them over at MoDaCo. But I think there will at least be some new things to learn when working with this MediaTek phone.
Maybe it will be time to start an "unofficial" Jiayu G2S thread some time soon. I'd prefer having a good title for the thread (like the G2 thread), and someone who will update the first post when important new information (or roms, etc.) happens. This thread is to specific in the title.
I will also have the Jiayu G2S, it is a very nice phone

Wow, that was a thorough review! Thanks for the link.
Nice to hear that there was no problem with the jump screen. Still, I will be careful to do two things on the initial boot:
1. Not install the SD card.
2. Not touch the screen until it is done booting.
I had to laugh though: the "Antutu" testing software got translated to "An Bunny". And I know enough Chinese to know why.
My phone will probably ship today. I don't understand why they were having trouble with my address in Chinese characters. :silly:

Regarding the jump screen issue there are two (new) threads in that forum.
As far as I understand it is said that the problem still exists and it (likely) could be a hardware problem.
Hope that is not the case.
Regards,
John
PS: Regarding the Chinese-English translation: What is meant by "brush"? Is it "update"?
PPS: Bunny is indeed funny.

I believe "brush" = "flash". I should look at the Chinese character to make sure.

Hi, sorry if i shouldn't have started this thread, but all i was looking to do was to report a bug on one of the quincyatt nightlies. Site would not let me post to developer related posts since i am new here.
Since the cm-10.1-20130424 nightly, the display rotation is working incorrectly - that is to say, when i have the phone at 0 degrees, the screen turns 90 degrees counterclockwise; needless to say when the phone is on the horizontal axis, the screen turns vertically.
I had hoped that this would be fixed with the latest nightly cm-10.1-20130429, but the problem still exists. This problem is not present on the cm-10.1-20130423 release. I'm on Samsung Galaxy i717 ATT. Any help on this or if someone can alert/forward the developers of this bug, i'd appreciated it...

Yet you didnt post this in your devices Q&A where it belongs? Also bug reports are not really paid attention to on nightlies as they are made to see what breaks.

The rules are there and they were to be read before posting. Had you followed them you would have posted in the right section or even not posted a thread at all as you would have found that nightlies accept no bug reports. Sorry if it seems to be snappy.
also the bug is well known, and documented, and as of today... fixed.

This will be straightforward and simple. Alright, seeing as you've provided no info what so ever as to what device is in question, No one knows what device you're talking about. Also, being that this is a self made "assumingly" port of CM13 this type of issue is in your hands. It's well known that hardware that wasn't intended for Custom OS usually doesn't work or may never work. It's entirely possible that there's a solution for your problem but until you provide some basic info, No one can help you and will continue to overlook this thread. I hope this is insightful for you. Goodluck.
