wi-fi stopped working - HTC EVO 3D

I am on virtuous with sense 4 and for about a month i didn't have any problems, then a weird thing happened.I was on wi-fi when it suddenly dropped and I couldn't connect to wi-fi anymore.it says "Turning on..." and stays there.tried restore to stock rom, tried flashing new rom.nothing works.i use revolutionary recovery
p.s. i have previously installed roms and this didn't occur

Unplug your wifi router for about 60seconds then plug it back in. See if that helps. If you have a modem do the same. Also in your wireless settings make sure wifi is set to never turn off.
Try that and see if it helps.

No.that doesn't help.when i switch my wifi on it just sticks to Turning on... and I can't do anything

Did you reset your router? And what didn't help?

It is 100% phone related.all my other phones + my ps 3 are doing very good on wifi.so it's not the router.if you think is the phone router,i don't know how to reset that

I really don't know what the issue is but this is just something to try. To reset your modem and router just uplug them for a couple of minutes and then plug them back in. Also have you checked your wireless settings to make sure wifi is set to never sleep?

I had problems like this after flashing some custom kernels with some custom ROMs. So try wiping dalvik and cache, and reflashing your kernel with "fastboot flash boot boot.img "

as much as i want to ask if its your router lol it sounds like something gave in the kernel man. Have you tried reflashing your kernel or switching kernels? i had the same problem when i first started flashing stuff, so i reflashed everything from the radio to the kernel and then the ROM three times and that seemed to do the trick. just saying doesn't hurt to try reflashing a new kernel or even the same one. wipe cache/dalvik cache 3X, flash new kernel and it should work. if not, your WiFi part of the radio might have given out (known to happen)

sorry, but nothing worked.i had to unroot(now my bootloader shows LOCKED and is S-ON),still doesn't work, and i will have it repaired

Wi-Fi & GPS unresponsive

I seem to be having a small(or large?) issue with my Wi-Fi connectivity - after rooting my phone it didn't surprise me that I lost GPS functionality, it didn't surprise me that I never got it back but hey I can live without it if it means I don't have to wait for HTC.
What's beginning to bother me is the fact that my phone can't manage a Wi-Fi connection it could 3 days ago.
Tried restoring my 1st nandroid backup that I made immediately after I flashed the custom recovery and I still had no Wi-Fi. And no GPS.
Also I have tried flashing 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 as well as 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.08.29 with no result on either front.
Please help me out if ya can.
What ROM you using pal?
1st thing to try is to put both your GPS and WiFi on, then turn your phone off and back on again.
I'm currently trying to use SenseHero 2.2
I have tried turning on both WiFi and GPS and rebooting, I have also tried similarly - leaving them on and flashing the radio too...
It doesn't seem to be helping all too much.
Furthermore(and the part that concerns me most) I have tried restoring my initial nandroid, the 1st one I made and saved after flashing the custom recovery and still nothing.
and there's no mention of issues in the Sensehero thread no?
If I was you,....
I'd backup my sd,... Format it. Then run a RUU so it unroots and goes back to stock state,... then see if it is working again or not.
I've been searching threads over as many forums I can find for DAYS. But still a no go..
I suppose I'll try to unroot it. I haven't finished researching the RUU's, does it matter which one I use?
Well apparently unrooting the phone doesn't reinstate the GPS or WiFi connectivity.... GPS still "unable to determine location" and the WiFi still SEES the WLAN networks in range but still cannot connect to any of them.
I can't seem to find anyone else who has had problems with WiFi connecting let alone wifi AND gps problems.

Wifi connecting issue

Hoping someone can help me out... My phone wont connect to my wifi at home (only place I use wifi). It gets hung up on "Obtaining IP Address" every now and then it will also show "Connecting, authenticating, not in range" but always comes back to obtaining IP address and never connects. I first noticed this after I had switched ROMs this past weekend. Went from MIUI to JTs VGB V7... Switched back to MIUI to see if it would fix it and nothing ( Always wiping cache, Dalvik, data in between) Have a tried a few other ROMs since and still getting the same problem... Flashed back to stock this morning and still cant connect to my wifi... I know its not my wifi because I am using it right now on my laptop... My wifes phone can connect without a problem (her phone is on PWGB v2). Anyone have any suggestions??
Thanks in advance!!
I don't know if the modem has anything to do with wifi connectivity but if your wife's phone has no issues on pwgb its worth looking into...what modem are you on versus her? Are they both on the same one?
Also have you tried just deleting your network and re setting it up?
Toggling wifi on/off, airplane mode on/off...not even sure any of those will make a difference just trying to figure out why your phone won't connect but your wife's phone will?

Yeah its pretty weird... We are both on the same modem, EC09. I have tried just about everything.
I had the same problem once. I re-downloaded the rom and kernel in the computer, put them in the sd card then, wipe data and cache and flash it without restoring any backups. That did the trick for me.
Kernel might have borked the IPtables. wipe caches and reflash the kernel.

[Q] Wifi Problems

I am running the latest stable build of CM7 and whenever i turn on wifi where it says "Turning on..." it sometimes says "Error" and then the phone reboots its self. does anyone know if this is software or hardware related and how i can go about fixing it. I have tried going back to the stock rom and nothing has helped.
EDIT:I have a Bell Atrix and I have also tried flashing a different radio to no avail.

Is this a new flash or did it jsut stop working? if so try to reflash the rom. I have a bell Atrix and had this issue the first time that I installed cyanogen. Reflashed and everything was fine. If that doesnt work for you try to flash a different rom and see if the issue persists. Hope this helps!
No I just randomly started happening and I have tried flashing a couple

My problem was unable to turn on wifi, wifi stuck at the stage of turning on.... and forever like that cant off and on.
Most probably is hardware problem coz i have tried many ways to solve including flash back to stock rom, change modem, change kernel and etc.
good luck for you, hope you are not the same problem with me.

Wifi is kernel-related.
So, try to flash another kernel to test.
Or if you don't want to flash another kernel, check in menu Settings > wifi > (menu button) Advanced > Use static ip.
Try to enabled and connect.
Then disable and try to connect.
If that does not help, try to wipe cache (and Dalvik cache) in recovery mode.
Press Volume UP + Home + Power buttons as long as the recovery menu appears, then select wipe cache and reboot the phone.
P.S.: Check the configuration of your wifi router / WLAN access point, that is allows your phone to connect.
ok so i did everything again just to be sure and... my mistake! the problem starts not after the rom flashing but after cf root! have i done something wrong maybe?
I would say look for a custom rom that is already pre-rooted so then it should have all bugs to do with wifi removed.
I used to have a problem with the wifi myself which caused problems when turning it into a wireless hot spot and then wouldn't turn back off again.
But now im on the Custom Rom I am having no problems with wifi at all.
Hope this helps.

Actually, I would say try a different kernel. CF-root is a kernel. Wifi drivers are in the kernel. Ergo... ?
Wifi is kernel related issue
try changing your kernel
you mite wanna chk dis

Im having the same problem here, any luck so far?
may have something to do with the root. my phone had this issues once. just flash your phone with the correct rom and do NOT root it again as it may have something to do with the root itself. or just something got messed up during the rooting process

WiFi problem, anyone can help?

I have a i9300 international and since i upgraded from 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 i`m having problems with wifi. It keeps disconecting from router every 5 minutes and automatically reconects. I tryed everything from disabling things in advanced wifi to disable power save mode in *#0011# menu, keeping it ON allways. Than i changed the router, i modified settings in the router, disabled wifi security. Nothing works, every now and than (sometimes every 5 minutes) the wifi starts disconecting and reconecting in 2-3 seconds. It is verry frustrating. Is there any fix? Real fix?
Backup data and factory reset .
fails flash new firmware .
jje
Ok, but it sucks cuz i have to format everything.
I agree with JJ.. Let us know how it goes
I've installed the custom rom Revolution HD 16 with 4.1.2 in it and it works great now. Done a full wipe, installed the rom and then deleted the cache and dalvik again. That was all, hope to never have that problem again. Oh, and the phone is more snappy too
