question about bootloops??? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

i haven't experienced this but in case it happens, what if the phone enters a bootloop, how does someone go about turning the phone off (since you cant battery pull) and get into the bootloader/recovery??

hold power key for about 10 seconds or so.don't let go until phone turns off.

EDIT: Here you go Page 24. It says Note: If the phone hangs and the touchscreen does not respond, press and hold "power" for about 10 seconds to restart the phone.
EDIT 2: Also found this here
Symptom #2:
If the device cannot power on, and seems that it cannot be charged, it could be that the device is not in default operation mode. This can be caused when the “volume up key” was pressed while pressing the “power” key when device was last powered down. To power on and off the device normally, please be careful to not hold down any other hardware key while pressing the power key during power up operations.
How to fix:
1. Press & hold the power button for up to ~ 20 seconds. The capacitive keys (three keys at bottom of screen) should begin flashing. This indicates that a reset is imminent. Continue to hold power until they stop flashing.
2. Release the power key
3. Press the power key again for 1 second. Wait a few seconds and the device should then power on

Yeah I don't think that actually helps with a true bootloop. Restarting the device is just looping another boot. lol.
Try just holding down the vol-down button through one of the bootloops. Not sure that will work ... but worth a try.

Are you still pressing POWER+VOL DOWN?

Every instruction says to press Power+Vol Down and hold the Vol down until you see "Fastboot".
But its not true.
You power up with power button as normally and within 2-3 seconds just press the Vol Down key. It will show you the usual "Fastboot" text on your screen. There you can choose as usual with Vol Down key and select with Vol Up.
yeah ..that is true...
Yeah, but holding the volume down button ensures you don't miss that window, then have to go through another reboot cycle.
I think your point is kinda pointless really, but that's just my humble opinion!
i'm still going to press POWER+VOL DOWN together.
Just hold VOL-DOWN then press and release power. Release VOL-DOWN when fast boot appears. You don't have to hold power.
Actually, everything that has been said so far IS true... there is no wrong way to access the boot options whether you hold both the Power Button + Volume Down, Press Power Button then release + Press volume Down after 2-3 sec etc. all of these techniques will get you to the boot menu..
But I think, which is always dangerous, the reason they have said to hold both Power Button + Volume Down Button is because they avoided all the questions like;
when is the right time to press the Volume Down Button
Do I wait 2-3 sec after I press the Power Button
or Do I wait 2-3 sec after the Moto boot logo appears
Why can't I get this right
I tried searching for a way to get into the boot menu and it seems like I keep missing the 2-3 sec window period, can someone please explain to me the right way?
LoL

This is what I do.
Same here, my phone wouldn't wake up, power, vol down for about 5 seconds forced reboot.
The manual says to force a reboot by holding down the Power key and the Volume down key.
Anyone know how /if that's different from holding down just the power key or the Power key and both the Volume down and up keys, two other things I've read mentioned?

holding the power key by its self doesnt always work. It just is a hard power down. The power + vol down is essentially the same as a battery pull.

Holding power and down volume key at the same time is a forced re-boot, and you'll automatically go into a power on situation, with the boot animations starting.
Holding just the power down button should only power off the device, and not re-boot, so you have to re-press the power button to start again.
Sometimes, though, if the phone recognizes the power down by holding the power button, once it turns off, it recognizes the power button a separate time, and you re-boot. This is actually an error, and "shouldn't" occur, but does because of the system resetting.

[Solved] Can't get in fastboot anymore...

After a bad flash, I'm stuck at "htc One/beatsaudio" white screen, but unable to reboot in bootloader/recovery, even not power down...
Holding the power button a loooooooooooooong time makes softbuttons blinking, but nothing else happen...
Any idea?
Aaaaargh...finally solved...:victory:
I post "MY" solution, maybe it can help someone else (using the "search" functionality...)
Just press Power + Vol. Up + Vol. Down at the same time...:highfive:
The Other way: Press Power long time, until your phone gets off. After a second press and hold Vol. Down, press the power button and the phone starts in bootloader mode.

Thank you, but I was starting this thread because it wasn't possible anymore to use the normal way: Power button 10 sec. and Power + Vol. Down to get in bootloader mode...

Denver TAC-70061 Tablet stuck

I've looked through similar thread on how to boot into recovery menu, but non of them work for this lame Denver p1ece of sh17 product. The tablet loads only to the 3rd page, and never gets passed it. I've ben trying to set it back to the factory default, but whenever I hold the volume down button and power button, the sh17 takes me to a screen with the robot laying down and exclamation mark inside of a triangle over top of it. I don't end of seeing anything else, like there is not list of options to choose from. Although I got this p13ce of hardware for free, any1 know how to reset a Denver specific type tablet back to the factory default settings right quick? If so, how do I do it before a slam it on the floor?
Recovery mode of Denver tablets
DENVER ELECTRONICS A/S explains to access the recovery mode (e-mail) – maybe this helps you:
You can factory reset the tablet the following way:
Plug in the adapter. Press the reset button on the back of the tablet and wait for approx. 20 seconds (until the battery icon disappears and the screen goes black).
Press the power button for 5 seconds.
When the Denver logo appears, press the power button 2 times (short fast press). (If the tablet powers of for start with “Android” – start again at step 1.)
Wait until you enter the recovery menu. Press the power button 3 times (don’t hold the button, short fast press).
“4. Wipe data/factory reset” must be marked.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.
Use short fast presses to get the cursor to “8. Yes – delete all user data”.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.
“1. reboot system now” must be marked.
Press and hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds, then release.

GApps error after installing Phone no longer starts.

Hi all.
I have a phone Samsung 920I not "L"
OK to start from the beginning. I am new to this and followed steps from watching Channel48 on YouTube. Not blaming him it's just so you have an Idia of where I got my info from.
Instlled Odin
I installed twrp-3.1.0-0-zeroflte.img and it didn't work.
I then found twrp-3.3.1-0-zeroflte.img and installed it over the top, Now works when booting into recovery.
I then installed 920F Samsung recover file that was only about 25Mb in size and got my phone working again.
left it for a day then tried again.
Installed twrp-3.3.1-0-zeroflte.img with Oden. works
Installed: EvolutionX_4.1.69_zerofltexx-10.0-20200331-0232-OFFICIAL Works I was happy Looked at "About" and it now says my phone is 920F :/ Andoird 10 cool it works so who cares if it says 920F right!!!
I then booted back into Recovery and Installed: open_gapps-arm64-10.0-pico-20200228 and that said it successfully installed and I swiped to restart the phone.
My phone powered off and that's where this ends.
I have tried holding the power button for about 30sec and nothing happens I tried plugging into the charger and it doesn't respond to show it's charging
Is there something I can do now or is the phone dead This is my main phone as I love the Samsung S6 over the rest because it has the main buttons, not on touchscreen and IR so I can use the phone as a remote.
Thanks
edit. update
