For you nice people running ics, does the tasks app allow for syncing other than with the phone? Such as Gmail. Apps in the market provide it I just haven't found an answer and I figure I won't until ICS is officially released. Any info would be useful thanks guys. Yes Google and the search key are my friends but I haven't found any answers. I also added my Gmail as a corporate sync account with no positive results. This is all using gingerbread.

I want to use the samsung email client since well... i like the widget on the desktop. I don't see an option to PUSH in settings. The quickest I see is to check every 5 minutes. Did I not set up the email correctly or what is it?
I had a push option earlier when I first entered my gmail account info but had to delete it because the push was being random. Having readded the account there isnt a push option any longer.
Help?
maybe this can help you..its for the s3 but should be the same..

Holy crap, talk about thread necromancy. OP is from May 2011.
Does anyone have any news on this subject?
Push email was available on the native S2 email client.
I vote for native apps first.
I tried the advice inside the android forum link, it works (gmail with exchange) but is sucks too much data in stand by.

This thread is in the galaxy s2 forum. Looks like you're a galaxy s3 user?
Yes, but since the op complained of a similar problem on the s2, i thought there is a connection.

Hey should the native facebook app on the dx2, push notifications. To the phone?

Ok what I mean to say is how do I get notified from facebook using the stock facebook services?
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk
To be honest, of course this is just a personal preference I have always had, I normally freeze the native facebook and just download the app from the market.. I know that doesn't answer the question asked but it may be easier for you..
I moved the native fb ap, and use the one from the market. The push notifications from it work great for me
Yea I cant figure it out for the life of me. Lol, so im going back to tweetdeck. Thanks guys.

Yeah for exchange. I work for a large corporation, 200k+ so can't really sync all my contacts. Using a 3rd part app called corporate addressbook right now. Works but can't believe it wouldn't have a built in global address search

Ok, im a freaking idiot! Once I start using the search function in contacts it gives an option to search my corporate directory. Thanks for bearing with my idiocy

ahh, I was about to maybe suggest that you didn't have any local contacts to sync and that your desk machine might be using the global directory. Glad you got it figured out.
Just got this phone today and was wondering if there is some special way of getting the widget to work? I have added my accounts but it just sits there and tells me to add an account.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It worked for me, but I felt it wasn't necessary. The UI was too basic to really use compared to the full version of the same apps.
Thanks for the input but do you have a suggestion for me?
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I had to return here for suggestions (so I get notifications), I get Linked and Facebook. When I go to add an account, I see them (checked because I have them) and I see Twitter (Not checked because I don't use it).
I want to add Google+ and Yahoo. Even when I am up and chatting on both of them, Social will not show them to add. I am clueless!

This is EXACTLY why I use this Widget. I work in IT and have done so for MANY years. I had Yahoo IM @ 12 years ago, @ 4 years ago I started with FB, This June, I got Google+. The last 3 years I have traveled the world with job, some friends are on Facebook, some on +, some still on Yahoo.
I have 760+ contacts, everyone keeps asking "Whats up, what have you been up to?" I cannot possibility answer them all, except with Social Networking, weather they want to read it or not. One post, everyone is happy.
Now, Like you stated, If I want a more personalized experience, I go to the app it's self.
Thanks everyone but the problem I'm having is I don't get anything on the widget and all it says is add an account.

I got a Nexus 7 and it always has loads more options to add... is it just my phone, or it's Motorola's decision? Google's? Anybody got a solution to enhance Google Now?
I have a stupid suggestion but did u update the Google search app?
