Smileys for Android - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I know they are many other threads for Smileys but my request is unique. I am BIG on smileys and the particular site I frequent the most has some amazing smileys. I want to know how, if at all possible, that I can replace the current smileys and even add to them some of the great smileys I have. I will post some examples of the smileys I would like.
I have a way to use them now, but it converts message to MMS and that's the issue. I want to be able to send them as SMS if it's at all possible.

No
SMS is for Short TEXT messages
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMS
Not picture messages,
the smilies that show up in SMS messages are the smilies that are stored on the phone. It just sends the codes ;-)
not the pictures. You can replace the smilies that show on your phone, but it won't change what the person you are sending the smiley to sees.
You would have to get them to update their phone smilies too.

thanks, that makes sense. A follow-up question then.
When sending the pics, why must the picture go to top of message rather than where I am attempting to insert it? It doesn't seem to have a copy/paste option either so it seems any pic I attach will be stuck at top which defeat the purpose of these perfect expression smileys

[Q] making font bigger in sms typing box

hi, first time android phone user was just wondering if this phone has the ability to change the font size for the txt being writen in the sms box (above the keyboard) my eysight is not too good and need reading glasses when im writing sms, but if the fonts are bigger i dont need to put them on as i dont carry the glasses with me when im out.
i have found a way to make the sent and recieved sms's bigger by using go sms app but that does not make the text bigger until the txt has been sent. (well not that i know of)
my gf iphone a old 3g one does that in settings where u can pick a font and make them heaps big or small and it would change the size of all including while you where typing it.
i got this phone thinking this would do it coming from a old samsung omnia wm6.1 where the writing box was tiny and useless.
Use Chomp sms. typing box follows sent message text size.

On my Galaxy S, I used FONTSIZE, fonts that is increased in the entire Galaxy. Very good, but you must have a Root.

Keep messaging icon from undertray, only change the link behind it

Hi,
i have a Galaxy S2. I know how to change the programs from the undertray. But how do i keep the icon and only change the program behind it. For example, keep the messaging icon and replace the programm with handcent?
Regards
maxpd
Friendly Topic reminder.
i use galaxy s 2 cant seem to understand your que...
Ok, thank you. I will try to formulate the question again.
Android 2.3.5 Galaxy S2
In the bottom line we normaly have the telephone, the contacts, the messages and the home.
Now i want to keep this symbols. In special the messaging icon with the paper which comes out of the envelope.
But what i want is, to change the link behind it. So not the messaging app of Samsung should open, but Handcent.
What i can do, is to change the whole program with the icon of Handcent. But i want to keep the original Samsung messaging icon.
Is this possible?

[Q] SMS messages. How does android turn text into emoticons?

With SMS messages, android by default turns this : ) into this (figuratively)
Where might the code be located that does this text to png recognition? I know the png themselves are located in the framework-res.apk but couldn't fine the code that pulls those png whenever anyone types in : P.
My friend and I want to try and insert keywords that are recognized by the phone to insert a new png emoticon. We know that only we will see the emoticons when anyone types the keyword but that is our goal.
I tried looking around the framework-res.apk for this but all I found were animations and images.
It is actually stored in the font files for Android. Back in my htc rezound days I wrotea file that enabled the jellybean emoticons on ics. I can't remember off hand where those files are or what you need to change, not sure if samsung handles its fonts the same. But hopefully this helps you some. I can look into it at some point for you
Does anyone know where the font directory is that Oakley is talking about?
Or anyone have any more insight?

a "simple" question about unread email

Hi,
I started recently making my own themes as i found there isn't enough themes in my taste on themer/mycolorscreen application/launcher.
I have on question though. how do i change the text for unread email? It is connected to my gmail, ut even checking another box in the mail options i have no luck so far. So help me get an answer please. I watched all videos but i might have missed it somehow. (see screenshot for explaination (and yes i made it all red because I am not ready to share my work with the world just yet))
Love this launcher!

Changing unread email count from gmail to other email
As far as I'm aware, this CAN'T BE DONE! It's a limitation of Android, not Themer. Android links itself to your gmail account, and it will only report unread emails in that account, not any other. The two ways around this are:
(a) forward all your non-gmail messages to your gmail account by adding your hotmail/yahoo/whatever account to gmail (you can do this within gmail on your phone, or from your PC). This is the 'elegant' solution but it does mean that ALL your emails will be a the mercy of Google
or
(b) as you're building your own theme, just find the simplest widget you can for yahoo/hotmail/whoever, put the widget on your homescreen and use some clever masking (such as allow overlapping widgets??) to display only the numeric character. Not sure how you'd go about changing the font size.
You might want to look at Tesla Unread which displays unread emails on little badge icons, or browse xda's main Android forums for info on email count widgets.
BTW, I'm no expert so please don't ask me anything technical - I've just researched this problem before and I remember some of the replies I got from clever people.

Not exactly what i mean. this must be a limitation by themer as the word personal comes directly when i add "missed email". it simply says personal. even when changing the inbox/outbox/whateverbox of my gmail to anything else then the personal one it will not change the text and i can not change it elsewhere. i feel this is a themer issue and not from gmail as i can recall that with other themes it says email/ missed email

Hi mcwurth,
That's Themer Everything Widget right? When you add the Email item, it shows Personal by default. To remove it:
1. Select the Unread Email item (that one you added).
2. Tap the "Unread E-mails Style" option at the bottom - Select Unread E-mail Settings.
3. Scroll to the bottom - Deselect Show Label.
Alternatively you can use Themer Zooper Widget, which allows for much more flexibility. Hope this helps!
