Is anyone else having Google Calendar Sync Errors?
Just noticed this earlier today, everything syncs except calendar. I even tried clearing data on the calendar app, didn't work, so I did a factory reset. Just added my Google account and still getting an error.
Weird thing is it says com.android.calendar
Running stock rooted rom.
Here's some excerpts from the alogcat:
Code:
I/ActivityManager( 420): Start proc com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar for service com.google.android.syncadapters.calendar/.CalendarSyncAdapterService: pid=8211 uid=10038 gids={3003}
E/CalendarSyncAdapter( 8211): Received an onAccountsChanged() but has not found any sync
E/SyncSettings( 8119): Provider needs a label for authority 'com.android.calendar'
D/SyncManager( 420): not retrying sync operation because the error is a hard error: (com.google), com.android.calendar, USER, earliestRunTime 1552739

I found this link http://code.google.com/p/galaxian-soup/issues/detail?id=14 which pointed me to the CalendarProvider.apk.
Did some hunting, apparently I was missing the CalendarProvider.odex file. Replace, reboot, all works. Doh.
Unfortunately, Google Sync has Stopped
Thanks for posting that info. I have the exact same issue. However, when I followed the instructions and copied over the recommended files I started to receive "Unfortunately, Google Sync has Stopped". It did change back to "Sync Calendar" under Accounts & Sync thogh. Unfortunately, because of the new error message I had to back out to the original APK's.
Any more thoughts?

Where are you getting the apks from? I just reverted back to my originals due to a mistake I made. Are you trying to mod the calendar apk?

Do you have google+ installed? If yes, you probable have the latest version. I have the same problem, I just download another version (not the last one) and it works again. Or maybe you have remove some apps before flashing?

i tried installing play store, when i run it it asks me if i want to add new account i go yes and nothing happens... i run it again and it force closes
You need google apps first on cm9, flashing just play store won't work
how to do that?
i installed google apps, now when i add account and launch play store it says server error and im connected to wifi
If its not to much to ask, reflash after wipe, first flash cm9, right after that, without restarting, flash gapps.
Wipe just the cache and reboot.
Its all written in cm9 thread, should have read.
i just did full cache wipe, dalvik wipe, full data wipe, flash cm9, flash gapps and still the server error
Ok what account you are adding?
Post a screen shot of error

No I don't, but you can try cleaning play store cache from applications.
You didn't get it!
You started a thread with wrong info, you don't have a google account problem, you have play store not working problem.
Update your title or search for market issues you will find many here.
Don't start a new one about play store not working.
Hi everyone. My Nexus 7 upgraded yesterday to 4.2. Everything is running correctly except that all of a sudden, last night, I could no longer access Google+ or Google Messenger; instant upload (which goes to G+ stopped working); and none of my apps will update. When I try to refresh Google+ I get the following message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Hitting refresh only returns the same message. I tried logging out and logging back in and it will not take my log in. Instead I get an error message telling me that G+ is unable to connect to the servers. I checked my internet connection and everything is working correctly. In fact I have no problem accessing Gmail, calendar, youtube Drive, GVoice, Etc (all on the same account).
When trying to update apps sitting in the update list, I get the following error if I try to update them individually:
If I hit update all, all the updates fail with the same error:
By comparison, I'm not having this issue on either a Galaxy Nexus or a Transformer Prime, both running 4.1 (they both continue to work correctly).
I'm at my wits end and short of doing a factory reset and hope that fixes things I have no clue what could be going on. Of course trying to find someone to speak to at Google is like finding hen's teeth. If anyone could advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Wow, really helpful. This is why I hardly post here anymore. You ask for information and some numb-nuts always has to answer with something stupid like "just root it".
I was actually wondering if you have root, I will never encourage people to root when a problem can be fixed in a different way. Upgrading to 4.2 doesn't have to mean that you did it using stock-software.
Found a fix (no thanks to AmeesingNoob). I had to purge the Nexus 7 of all the Google accounts (Settings -> Accounts -> Google Accounts -> select the actual individual account(s) -> open settings menu -> remove account). You can remove all the accounts and your device will still function. Now make sure you are on WiFi and add your Google account back: (Settings -> Accounts -> Add Account). once you do that several Apps (mainly Google ones) will prompt you to allow access. once you get past that, everything should be back to normal - no need to do a factory reset and no need to root.
I've been having some weird issues with the Gmail app ever since I rooted and starting using roms. It's done the same on every rom i've used. I've did a few searches on here and google and couldn't find anything.
So lets say I have quite a few read items in my inbox along with the newer unread items at the top. When I select the messages I want to delete, and then delete them, when the inbox refreshes and the deleted items go away.. the subject/sender lines in the app get all mixed up.
Lets say I have ten emails in the inbox, delete five, when the five go away, the subject for the ones I deleted seem to stay over the email that's left, but when I open it, it's the correct email I left.

What are you using to change your font? Is it the stock ui? Or a 3rd party app? I wonder if it's a 3rd party font messing up. Try default.

rom toolbox to change the font.
it was doing this before the font change, it does this on every ROM I install, no matter the DPI is set to, uninstalled/reinstalled gmail from the play store.
Gmail Update error
Has anyone been getting the gmail update error.
Play store tells me to un-install current version and re-install.
I am only able to un-install update and re-install and same issue.
Any fix?

The new Gmail updated fine for me. I backed it up to Dropbox if you want to try installing it.

Thank you kind sir!! Much appreciated!
Hello,
When you first open a new phone ( in my case galaxy s8+ ), you are prompted to enter your google account.
if you have a backup you'll get the following screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In case you chose not to enter a Google account at this stage, and you decided to do it later, you won't get this option.
for example, you will be able to sync contacts if you enter a Google account later, but you won't be able to restore your applications or call history.
I couldn't find inside the settings how to perform this special first-run syncing. is there a way to perform it without factory reset?
Maybe sending an intent with ADB to the app that is responsible for it?
Thanks,
Ana

There is a option in Google drive app to manage device backup, I think you can restore it from there, not 100% sure but I think I saw an option like that on the app.

Sorry but I don't think you can without resetting your phone, or at least I have not heard or read about anyone restoring from drive without resetting. You can install apps from the store and restore the app data automatically after installing, I think the option is in the backup and reset section in the settings menu of the device.
