Mmm what is the location of the file in the ROM zip?

Inside the zip - META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script. Open updater-script in a text editor and you can modify it. You can also add extra functions here if you know the syntax.

Hi
May i seek help to resolve this issue?
I created a rom by modifying on the phone and extracting the system folder using adb. Then I drag the system folder to a pre-existing rom zip. I tried to flash using cwm successfully but it just stuck at at the android logo. Many thanks for assistance.
Terry
it wasnt as simple as copy and paste, drag and drop like that.

Technically , there's more than just editing the updater-script .

Does anyone know how to make a wallpaper.apk? So I don't have to search my SD card for the wallpapers I want to set. Thanks!

Thanks so much but I'm not familiar with decompiling and recompiling apk's. Any idea where I could find a tutorial? Thanks!

Questions should be asked in Q&A forums, not Development forums.
Thread moved.
its very simple just read some tutorials about the apk manager tool it lets u decompile, change and recompile apps so the described way (take the cmwallpapers.apk) would be the waay i would have suggested u too
check this

Use ES file explorer to open the file location and use an app like android to extract the apk. Then use a file editor like jota text editor to edit ur apk. Recompile the files using android again. Hope it helps.
Hit thanks if I have helped you in any ways.

You shouldn't modify apk in the phone because you can end up with force closes.
On PC of course.
Thanks buddy

I tried these 3 files; settings.apk, secsettings.apk and secsettingsprovider.apk, did not change anything.
It is sec settings !!

Thanks but i already changed secsettings.apk but it did not change. Maybe its reading icons, fonts from somewhere else.
Which folders did you change your icon in.. If you did it from res/drawable-xhdpi
Maybe change it in res/drawable-sw360dp-xhdpi
sent from here, there, somewhere!!

ROOT/system/app
- set permisions rw-r-r reboot and you are good to go
