Just upgraded from SlimICS rom on my i9100 (great rom btw), to Omega 4.1 on my new i9300.... Slim had ASS which permitted DPI changing.... For my i9300 I tried DPI changer but all I got was a corrupted build.prop and lots of headaches in starting with odin from square 1.
Has anyone successfully changed DPI on Omega or other for the i9300?
Thanks

Hi has anyone been able to change dpi?

I've changed it manually by editing build.prop. Omega 4.1

As mentioned you can manually change it by editing the build.prop via root explorer or something similar!

Thank you. Will give it a try...

Works fine at 260dpi. Had tried a few applications all caused boot loops - changed via Root Explorer text editor and all works fine.. thank you

S Memo crashes, don't know about others but this makes it a no go for me.
Changed to 240 using rom toolbox lite - Dialer does not scale, rest is good, i dont use much of the samsung bloatware.
Chrome does not work, neither does TouchWiz, Using Nova Launcher.
240 DPI works good, apart from the non scaling dialer all looks good. 240 DPI is also safe to avoid market incompatibilities problem

Hey guys
I seem to have a problem
I used dpi changer utility to change my dpi to 200 and began to notice that many apps weren't turning up in the app store so I restored it back to 219 and still nothing.
Any idea what's going on?
All help and input greatly appreciated

wel revert back 2 std 240 dpi if ur on stock official rom else try some custom roms which will work at lower dpi than 240
ps- check with 184 dpi or 220 dpi and see before reverting 2 std 240dpi

Try LCD Density Modder https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.birdapi.android.dpi
Has ability to fix market compatibility issues.
Nandroid backup immediately before using!!

Restore the DPI back to 240, or you can use 160 for the tablet version of apps, and clear the data for Google Play. You should be able to see the apps again, then just go back to whatever DPI you wanted in the first place.
play store will work good only with eithe 160 or 240 dpi. if you want working market with anyother dpi a fixed market for multiple dpi value is available in net, search for that.
Okay this has been solved.
I used lcd density Modded pro to reset the dpi, reboot, clear the market and reboot once more. All done.
Thanks to everyone that helped

where the heck is this located on our phone ?
im trying to set the apps to 320 dpi while i run 213 dpi on the phone
hyb.prop:
hy.system_default_dpi=213
or is this just a line i need to to add to the build prop ?
thanks in advance
Have to have hyb.prop system dpi match build.prop dpi. I use Rom Toolbox to set the build.prop dpi (though you can edit build.prop, too)
In build.prop, set this
ro.sf.lcd_density=213
In hyb.prop, set this
hy.per_app_scaling=1
hy.system_default_dpi=213
hy.user_default_dpi=230
Make that last line match the default (but individual settings in subsequent lines override)
Hope this helps

Clarify: Make that last line read the dpi you want most of your apps to have

no wonder, hyb.prop is ONLY in dagr8's HYBRID rom, won't work anywhere else
thats funny
thats where i have been reading about it
thought i was going crazy trying to find it.
so sounds like app dpi is set if not using dagr8's
It doesnt work. Someone have the same issue ?

Make sure that you are applying the audio fix after you install the ROM as instructed in the OP. I am running the current update posted and tryed the game without the audio fix applied and it froze up on me. Booted into recovery and applied audio fix I listed in the OP and was able to go through a few rounds without issues. That audio fix fixes more then just sound just to let people know.
Thanks, that solved the problem. Which DPI size do you use? I have issues with holo launcher which sees my tablet as a phone, can I change my build.prop to fit holo launcher and the g-tablet?
Thanks and happy new year !

Dump Holo and go with APEX. I use at 120 and 160 without issus. The new Apex has tablet UI support.

Go to market, download build.prop editor and search for screen density
I hope it will work for you, I never tried it by Galaxy S3
I always did this method by Galaxy S2
Stupid me I did use a very low value. Suggested app works perfect . Thanks again

Any way to safely change the density on the I545? I can't stand how big everything is. I've read reviews on all the apps and can't find anyone with a S4 except for ONE guys who said it didn't work. I also a foudnd post on here I believe of a guy getting his phone bricked because of it. =\
Xposed framework with app settings module does the trick.

Set the dpi to your desired value in build.prop. Reboot to recovery and flash a multidpi market mod. Use the xposed app settinga module to set any newly broken samsung apps to 480dpi. (Like camera)
