Got root? Use Titanium Backup.

He wants to know the name of the application to delete it, not how to do it.
And well, I haven't figured it out either.

If I'm not mistaking the name of the Japanese keyboard is
POBox Touch.
And I think there is two theme files for the keyboard too.
Unfortunately I don't remember the name of those files.

Edit: checked it. Can someone confirm po box touch is the Japanese keyboard and it is completely safe to remove it?
It is located at system/app/Japaneseime.apk

Yes. I confirm.
already deleted it using Titanium backup.

Successfully deleted the Japaneseime.apk
Now my Japanese keyboard is removed. It also frees up 21mb of my phone memory

you can also delete something with "Sakura" and "Wood" in names, as they're themes for the Japanese keyboard

Text input theming?

Okay so I've re-themed the phone and it really does look great, however, I'm a 'texter' and I can't find anything to change my input screen, handcent done a pretty good job for everything else message related but not the input screen. Also is it possible to disable the default messaging notifications?

Sorry buddy I have recently discovered that I can't see files on the xda app, how did you do it? Did you have to edit the message apk or was it in the framework?
Error when trying to install "Default input could not be installed on this phone."
Do I install this or mount the file?

I've deinstalled the default one (with titanium backup)and then installed this, but i think the best way is to use adb and replace the original.

Anychance of sharing the codes for doing this? I'm new to adb and not confident enough to go about it myself!
The easyest way is to use titanium backup(there is a free app on the market) to deinstall the original and then install this.
P.S. make a reboot after unistall

Just done this and everything is forcing close, even adw launcher, just done a cold restart and seems to be working okay, let's see what happens!
Still wont let me install this .apk file, still giving me the same error message, even after un-installing the original?
What am I supposed to be installing this with, titanium backup?

Go into your keyboard settings on your phone, click SlideIt Settings then you should be able to back up your settings- surely this will include all custom words etc?
I dont use SlideIt but i use SmartKeyboardPro and ive had this problem once, i simply backed up my settings, reinstalled and restored my settings.
Good luck, i hope i may have helped you a little bit.

Yeah, he could do that but since the app is broken (like I understood) it makes no sense to back it up and restore that broken app, right? Since unfortunately there is no way to only restore data in Titanium, is there?

All right, here is the answer from the Technical Support:
Hi,
If your device is rooted, you can backup the .dat file in the com.dasur.slideit/app_databases folder.
We are working on a backup feature.

You can (with no root) just sideload the .apk of the android keyboard as well.
LatinIME.apk is the file.

Depends on phone.. even that keyboard can be laggy on your phone.
Still.. if that phone's resolution is same.. copy and paste the apk, libs, usr config and database to make t9 work.
Path system/ app
System/ lib
System/ usr
Find the apk for keyboard.. copy paste in yours.
Find desired libs.. you have to search it yourself. Some libs may have name with t9 or xt9.
Search in usr for t9 config and database. Copy paste it to yours.
Instead of doing all this.. clear cache.. oc a little and your swype will work well!!
So no one is using Swype keyboard provided by Swype.inc on this phone ( any one facing issues in latest update of Swype)!!!

Did you also rename or delete the SamsungIME.odex file? I just renamed the original files to
SamsungIME.apk.bak
SamsungIME.odex.bak
and left in place. It works but The issue with not being able to add words to the dictionary makes this MOD useless. I am still using a 3rd party keybaord until it is possible to add words to the user dictionary. I have even added the words to the user dictionary manually but they still are corrected. Apperently the stock keyboard doesn't use the stock dictionary.....dumb.
