I think the title of my thread says everything....
i would like to know if its good to activate force gpu or not.
I read once that it forces hardware acceleration instead of software, making it quicker, taking extra load of the CPU and also increasing battery life... not sure if that's true though.

Would be nice if its true

Uses more memory.

Is there any way to increase the multitouch number for the touch screen? For instance the screen only reads 2 fingers at a time. I tried changing the build properties from 2 to 4 and rebooted with no success.
No. AFAIK there was a thread about this a while ago though

I also tried the sgs app for the galaxy but it didn't work didn't expect it to but it was a shot in the dark. I'm beginning to wonder if its actual hardware that wont allow it to change.

in the atrix all this changes are related to the kernel, multitouch, overclock, gpu, cpu... everything, thats why we need to get 1 custom kernel, to made our mods to it
Makes sense thanks I hope tenfar and khoulk make some progress soon

I used Advanced Memory Killer on my Hero, but wonder if it makes sense to use any on SGS2.

No . It really doesn't

You just don't need it anymore.
Thanks a lot, guys. I'm asking because i'm a bit worried about the battery consumption while the phone is not used. I had much better results with Hero with 18-month old battery.

System panel paid version with monitoring enabled is what I use to track which apps if any are using CPU. Its the best tool by far for this.
Is the force GPU rendering in ICS of any good? What does it do? Will activating it improve speed, battery life etc?

It makes everything smoother. Also doesn't affect battery life too much

So i really want my phone to run a little bit faster and smoother. My processor has never been over clocked so it should be good. What are some tweaks or things to try with CPU and stuff like that

You can install a custom ROM, that allows you to change memory sizes? Also the only cool thing you can do with the CPU is over clock and under clock when needed. Use setcpu for overclocking after you root your phone. Or if you have a custom ROM that has the setting built in, use those. And always use the right amount of speed and voltage.

Well I've had my phone rooted for quite a while I'm just wandering if anyone has any particular tweaks like memory what to over clock it to stuff like that
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
Setcpu is over clocking app I use. It also comes with many different settings for it and schedules for your processor to be clocked on. I don't know of any apps that would even let you change memory sizes? You usually have to get a specific kernel and custom ROM to directly customize memory type. Hope that helps

Well I'm usually on devil kernel. But is there a specific voltage you would recommend over clocking to?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
I can't remember the voltages of the phone, but I believe a good voltage would be around 1350mv. Running the processor close to max, but under enough so the phone doesn't heat up, or start lagging.

As the above reads, my phone will shut itself down if I'm playing games or am on the internet. Usually its when I'm on tumblr and have gone waaaay down the pages. I'm running PACman 19.3.0, jellybean 4.1. I'd love to know if there's anything I can do, just short of reflashing to my old CM 9... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

There could be a lot of things making this happen. It seems to happen more under heavy load as you stated, maybe try another kernel? Are you underclocking/undervolting?
Sent from my GT-i9100 using xda app-developers app
I was thinking it might have something to do with my clock speed. I'm not sure what is a safe speed to move it up to. I'm running at 1100 MHz right now. I think the Max on the scale is 2000. I was also thinking it could be battery related, as the issue does not occur when the phone is charging.
