Hotmail in HTC Sense email client - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Is there no way to resize HTML emails when set up through Hotmail on the HTC Sense client? Scrolling around to read an oversized email is getting old fast. I like having them all in one client but will have to switch if no solution is found.
Edit: as Exchange, not POP/IMAP

I didn't really care for the email app so I ended up downloading the hotmail app. I never found a solution to your problem.

If you are using Hotmail and not Gmail on your google- powered phone you're doing it wrong.

just configure gmail (on the webpage) to retrieve hotmail and be done with it.
K-9 email app, love it!

Geez guys he asked for a Hotmail solution not Gmail.
Microsoft Hotmail now supports Activesync/Exchange. All your contacts, calendar and email flows down.
Select Corporate email setup.
Username is your full email address.
Server is. m.hotmail.com
Domain blank.
Set update to whatever you want from Push to hours.
Btw, I am a huge advocate of Enhanced Email.

Cannot link Facebook to contacts

My girlfriend just got a thunderbolt. Unrooted. It seems as if Facebook will not sync with her contacts. Trying to manually link them does nothing unless the contact name exactly matches the Facebook name. Just wondering if there is some secret handshake or whatever to get this to work properly?

Do you have both Facebook the app and HTC's Sense Facebook accounts under Settings > Accounts & Sync? I believe its the Facebook App that syncs contacts
Ya she has them both. I'm sort of at a loss, works perfectly on my incredible then do the exact same thing on her thunderbolt and it just wont link unless she edits her contact names to match Facebook profiles.

Mail not being received fast enough

I use the HTC Mail app - because it is so slick compared to the stock Gmail app.
I observe that when I tried using Gmail app as well as the HTC Flyer Mail app - and sent some test emails - Gmail would receive and would notify receipt of these test emails almost immediately
Whereas the HTC Mail app would not receive/notify for several minutes.
The only setting I can see that relates to Mail Receipt frequency is Mail->More->Settings->Send & Receive->Update Schedule where the lowest/fastest Update Frequency that can be set is 5 minutes.
Is there some other setting I am missing that would make HTC Mail app receive/notify email in more-like real time?
Thanks
You are looking for a Push setting. I don't believe that the HTC Mail app does that. You could try another app like K-9 to see if that would work better.

Ok thanks for the reply. I guess what throws me and what I was trying to convey is this - why does the native Gmail app immediately notify of received email and the HTC Mail app does not
I'd guess the app uses a push protocol. That's why someone suggested you try K-9 since it supports push protocol. If you like K-9 but want a more Honeycomb like interface you can buy Kaiten email, made by the developer of K-9 but with a nice multi-column display.

Hey I appreciate the reply - and the suggestion. I will give Kaiten a spin but I do love the level of customization and design aesthetics HTC has put into all their apps - Mail, Gallery, Music etc - just so graceful
But my thanks again!

Google has built that function into their Gmail app, that's why it works that way. HTC apparently hasn't. I don't use the HTC Mail app at all, and never have for that reason. The other is it doesn't work well with Exchange with security policies for ActiveSync.

[Q] Anyone else not able to setup Outlook.com email account?

Outlook.com, Microsoft's new Hotmail, is not working on my DNA. I tried to set it up via Windows Live Hotmail and just plain Mail (POP) and it will not authenticate. I used both my Hotmail and Outlook email addresses. Is anyone else having this problem?
I had the problem setting up my @msn account using the Windows Live Hotmail setup, but when I chose other e-mail it worked fine.
Outlook.com has its own android app in the market

Outlook.com App and Unified Email Clients
Yes, thank you for mentioning it. I saw it posted yesterday on Engadget and am using it now. I think its pitiful that on IOS the native email client was truly unified, but even on ICS I have three separate email clients (gmail, outlook, and work outlook on native client).
Is there a decent unified email client anyone can recommend?
Thank you.

Sync Gmail & Outlook.com to HTC Mail app

Hi Guys, I have a few question regarding the Email Apps:
1. I heard that the default Mail app in Sense 5 is superior to the GMail App because its Smart Sync settings and I would be better off battery life wise using HTC Mail App instead of GMail for my Gmail account, is this true?
2. I am currently having trouble syncing my Outlook.com(used to be Hotmail) account to HTC Mail, if you have succeeded in doing so please let me know.
