If you had Dropbox before then you probably completed the task before hand.

has anyone on AT&T been able to get the 50GB or due to ATT not signing up, all ATT users with the Int SGS3 won't be able to get it. I thought it meant you won't get the 50gb by buying ATT version.

I have the international i9300 version and I received the 48GB and I'm on At&t in the states. Side note I also purchased a unlocked HOX and got 25GB for that too. I had to actually sign in to dropbox (desktop) before it activated, not sure why.

I already had a Dropbox acount, on purchase registered my old account for the 48GB space and 1 hour later i got a e-mail stating my account was upgraded.
Still did not experience any problems listed in this topic, hope it's here to stay..

weird, I have an i9300 but still havent gotten the email. how did you start the process. I have the app & just logged in. I only see 2.75gb

I contacted DropBox CS & found out that you can only activate the free 50gb once. If you bought a phone from someone that activated the 50gb then you are ass out like me.

Got 25Gb from my one-x which i returned due to its DOA + the 49gb from the s3 DDDD

Is there a way to know who got the drop box 48gb from a particular s3?I bought it from a retailer and still didn't get 48gb space.
Sent from my s3 running CM9

rock2707 if your phone was not sealed (those white stickers on the sides which read 'Do not accept if seal is broken) it might've been a return which they resold.
In that case contact your carrier and demand your 2year worth of storage.
While it's not imprinted on the box itself, I'd guess it is a selling feature.
However before you go in the store all guns blazing try the following:
Login through the stock Dropbox app on your phone (not the market version!),
upload a file and download a file.
Then reboot the phone, wait 5 minutes and check the storage again.
(This is to make sure that slow updates in the Dropbox system and the appcache itself are not the cause)

It was my bad.Took me 2 weeks to realise that i had an email in my other id to get the free dropbox storage. That was seriously lol.

Someone stole my Vibrant

It's not insured and I bought it second hand on craigslist. What are my options?
Well i think you could get asurion on your plan. If you don't have it. They might replace it. When i got my cliq dt stolen they were gonna replace it for 50 and it was from craigslist so it might work.

Did you have any apps to locate your phone? Latitude?
No, I didn't have anything yet I had just flashed eugene's Froyo today before I went to work.

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Unless they have changed the policy, when you try to add insurance onto an existing device they will require you to either
A: Receive/Place a phone call to verify you have the phone.
B: Take the Phone to an authorized T-Mobile store for inspection to make sure it is in full working order.
C: All of the above.
More than likely you are SOL my friend. Sorry to hear you got your phone jacked. That sucks.
SOL, that blows man....
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Well, another Vibant is out of my budget. I guess I'll have to find someone that wants to upgrade their plan and pay them for their extra one.
T-Mobile isn't going to care enough to give me the info on the person using the phone now.
haet lief.
Does it have really good porn lol? or the stealer will flip dead if not
Mine has a little kaboom built in just in case lol
Do yourself a huge favor.....
Install the app "Estrong Security Manager" on the phone. You can render it useless (well basically, untill they re-install another ROM) but if they flip the simcard out or if you send a secret SMS to the device - it locks it......
Try it out - it's free.
I know it's too late now since your phone is gone - but for the future...

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind for my next phone.
Maybe I can even push the app into system files so it'll even survive a wipe. I was just careless, guess you gotta learn. I won't run into a deal like the one I got for my old phone again, kid was a hardcore junkie and needed money so we traded my G1 + 80 dollars for the Vibrant originally.
Guess I better change my gmail password and facebook password, fml.
This is probably karma for ripping off a drugie, lol.

50 GB free storage on Dropbox via Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Dropbox teamed up with Samsung to offer a 50 GB bonus for users who log in via the Dropbox app on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
"Dropbox: you'll get 50GB of free Dropbox storage for a year when you first log in to the app on your Tab 2."

I have a Touchpad and was wondering if there was some way to spoof/trick the app into thinking it was running on a Galaxy Tab 2 so I could get in on this promotion.
I think this was spoofed but dropbox voided those that did this somehow. If it wasn't this deal it was something similar.

Someone grabbed the dropbox apk from the HTC one series and modded it to be installable on any phone to get 23gb but they found out and removed everyones space. Guess we should have seen it coming see the one series were nowhere close to release.

If you load back into WebOS, there's a 50GB deal for there, too (no, it doesn't stack with others), but you can get it if you sign up with an email from WebOS.

[Q] Code test

Hi, can anyone advice me on how to test if a device is brand new or not?? I mean is there a code (maybe diagnostic info) I can check how long the phone has been used for?? I have someone trying to sell me a Galaxy S3 as a brand new but with open box though?? Thanks..
If you had your phone wrapped up with the shipping protectorplastics and the box was sealed, I dobt that ot could be used. Whay does it matter anyway if you have your warranties and all

It matters, for example, for the free 40Gb space on Dropbox one gets when activating a new S III. That free space is given only once PER DEVICE. If the Dropbox account on the device has been previously activated, now matter how NIB(*) it looks, whoever buys it won't get the free 40Gb space.
Also, if I am buying something that is supposed to be NIB, I want it to be NIB.
(*) Acronym NIB = New In Box.
There is no code.
IMEI may give a rough indication as may firmware build .

Wait what? log on using an LG demo phone at a verizon store? why does that make sense?
Or you could just edit your build.prop to reflect an LG phone.

It is NOT stealing. Terms below explicitly state login on an lg device. I removed my posts because I dont like being branded a thief.
Do what you want. I just saw an opportunity to help people get a nice storage account.
Official terms:
Any new Box user will receive a free 50GB account when they download and log into Box for Android on any LG Android device. Existing Box users will receive the upgrade when they log into Box for Android on their device. The offer is valid from through 12/31/13.

Make sure you read the fine print because if it was like Samsung's offer the 50GB Dropbox is only for a limited time then you have to pay for the service.

:good:
A lot of storage. The only downfall is that the max file size is 250 megs. It registers you as a personal account so no getting around that as far as I know.

Note 3 vs Nexus 6

Hey all
I love my note 3 but I am intrigued by the google fi service. Its only available for the nexus 6. That got me looking at the nexus 6. It looks like a great device plus its almost pure google. Anyo e have experience with the nexus 6 and how it stacks up to the note 3? I have read some comparisons but I like real world experience.
Thanks!
The thing that stops me with nexus devices is the no sd card.

that.
and for keeping my TB/TWRP backups safe. and extra ROMs if I need a change...
and I also have a fairly large music set, so an SD card helps keep my app space free. and for bringing large movie files with me, on a plane, to a friend's house, to work, etc.
frankly, as soon as I read "no SD card slot" in the otherwise GLOWING review, that's when I stopped caring.
it's too bad because it looks like a nice device.

The only "solution" I have to this is a thumb drive with an otg cable. But even that would be a headache compared to an sd card. Bummer, since no nexus devices will ever have an sd card. Or so I've read.

I'm "sure" there's a good reason for that, but to me it makes no fuggin sense.
a) phones seem to be limited to 32 or (Woah, lookout) 64. ridiculous. RAM is cheap. no reason for this.
b) seeing as manufacturers don't want to go bigger for some reason, and SD cards are cheap, and files get bigger every year... why the ffff... heck would they want to limit our storage to those now-considered-small numbers?
I'm so itching to get away from Sammy, but... everything else seems so "meh".

The s6 has no sd card either.
The only thing Google says is it's safer. To me, they want you to buy more Google drive space. But I hate the cloud payment model. It should be a one time payment. I don't pay 50 bucks every month for a 64gb card, so why should I pay that for cloud. Anyways, we hijacked the thread. My bad op!

Well dont be jealous yet. I tried to cancel my order. Sprint already has the nexus packed in a box waiting for ups. I placed the order about midnight and called at 8am lol. They said I will be able to bring the unopened box to a corporate sprint store for a full refund.
Why may u ask am i returning it?
I am going to get the 64gb nexus when i get my invite for the google fi plans. I didnt realize i could buy a phone on the early stages of the plan rollout. Im looking forward to have access to sprint, tmobile towers. They both have good coverage here.

I have 2 lines both smart phones. 1400 min unlimited data and messaging. Out the door for 150/mnth. I was with verizon but the screwed me over with a warranty phone. They send me a phone with a cracked screen then said i broke it cause there was no way they send out a broken phone. So they charged me 300. I ported to sprint the next month after getting nowhere with verizon. Sprint also has been getting better coverage over the past year around me. [emoji1]
