Hey guys, I posted this in another forum, but never had any responses. I've also searched this site quickly and didn't see anything regarding this.
How well does S-Voice control music? I always play my music through bluetooth in my truck and I think it would be great to be able to change songs through voice commands. I've seen videos showing that S-Voice can start playing music, but none showing that it could actually play a specific song on request, (i.e. play *insert song here*). If S-Voice is not currently capable of doing this, would rooting the phone accomplish this with certain mods? I have never rooted a phone and I am looking forward to taking the dive with the GSIII.
And finally, when using S-Voice to play songs, will it only play through the stock music player, or could you play songs through Google Music?
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help!
Hi there I assume if you make a third party music the default it would play from there but maybe not as then it wouldn't have the integration, I could test it if you like. And as far as music control goes its very good you can do loads of commands such as:
play
pause
stop
skip
then more advance commands like
play > alex claire too close
play > playlist bike songs
That is awesome... I do hope there is a way to make Google Music the default player as I much prefer streaming my music as opposed to taking up storage space on the phone.
Well I downloaded PlayerPro as I can't get Google music in the U.K (not legal anyway
) and I made it the default music player. Unfortunately even after doing this S-Voice will still open the song in the default Samsung music player.

I've noticed that all the main features of any music playing on this phone (sharing to other devices, playing with voice commands from S Voice) all use the Samsung Stock music player. (which is actually very good... but I have 100 Gb of music that's all in the cloud, no way I'm gonna fit that actually ON my phone)
Is there any way to get S Voice or the phone in general to consider Google Play Music as the default music player? I can OPEN it with S Voice... but I still have to mess around with the screen. Not much use if I'm driving.
Also, is there anyway to share music from the google one to things like the wireless receiver they brought out? I know you can from the Sammy Music & Video players but wonder if you can from others.
Cheers!
So i have stuck it out with google music. I have close to 7000 songs uploaded.
The one thing that kills me is shuffle on a playlist. It seems i keep getting the same songs playing and it never really shuffles through them all. After many google searches i see others having the same issue. Nothing recent though. Anyone else have this issue or know of google is aware?
Is it the player or the service? I dont know of any other cloud service like this except for the upcoming xbox music.
This shuffle thing is really annoying.

If Google Music gives some problems you can install a different player like Walkman works much better than the system app
I use the XPeria S Music Playe with Beats audio. It does the job
Do all of these work with the streaming of google music?
Okay, so I purchased a great deal of songs from Google Play All Access and would like to play them on other media players without the need of buying GmusicFS as it is still buggy. Is there anything I can do so that I may enjoy the music I bought and not play them on a low quality player like Google Play Music app? Or am I just TOO hopeful?
BUMP
Hi,
I have a few questions about Goole Play Music All Access. Hopefully this is the right place to ask. Just to calrify, I have a lot of music from other MP3 providers, or from my CD collection on my device. I plan on keeping it that way, because I don,t want to lose the ability to play songs with different players.:
Does your choice of Thumbs up/Thumbs down affect Radio play, if the files are on your device and not on the cloud?
When you choose Radio Play, does it mix songs from your personal library (assuming they only exist on your device)and the cloud?
I have set up my Thumbs up list do automatically download songs to my device. If I "Thumbs up" a song that I have added from my library to my device, and the same song exists on the Google Servers, what happens?
Does the choice of High/Medium/Low quality affect the quality of the song saved to my device? If so, is ther a way to listen in Normal when not on Wi-Fi but to download high quality files to the device?
I would like to have the Thumbs Up/Down control on the lock screen. Is this possible?
I find the qality of sound of the Google Play Music app to be lacking (compared to PowerAmp, for example). What other apps will give me the same access to the Google Play Music All Access?
Is it possible, when playing songs on the device only, to skip certain songs altogether when using "I feel lucky?" For example, I have a lot of spoken word, or music backtracks that I don't want to hear in my shuffled songs. In other players I just put them in a separate folder and tell the player to ignor that folder, but that concept doesn't seem to exist in Google Play Music. Unless I'm wrong?
Thanks,
L
Hi! So I recently got Youtube music and merged my library of purchased songs from Play music with YouTube music. However if I now have Youtube music can I I disable Google Play Music safely? Will that affect my purchased music or anything else on the phone? Also if it is safe(is it?) and I go ahead and disable it if I purchase a new song from the Play Store will it automatically go to Youtube Music?

Youtube music doesn't work with Per-song Payments, it's more like spotify with a monthly subscription that let you listen/download every songs you want.
Idk if you'll still be able to buy music from google play after Google play music shut down tho, but yes it's safe to "disable" Google play music after having fully transferred your purchased songs to YT music.
Ok thanks ! I hope Google doesn't kill their store for music it's a really good alternative for when something isn't on Apple Music and iTunes for some reason. Otherwise I use Apple Music.
