Recovery and Rom options - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a tablet made my Indian company.
It runs android 4.0.3
Cortex A8 1GHz
7 Inch , 800X400
512MB DDR3
Kernel :- 3.0.8
This tablet is rooted and the default recovery it has is 3e.
Can someone suggest which recovery i should use along with the rom recommendations.
Thanks,

Need help with flashing a ROM/Recovery to my Android Tablet.

My friend bought a Tablet for me in Taiwan and I want to flash a custom ROM to it. Because it was purchased in Taiwan, I wasn't able to find it online by Google... Here are the specs for the Tablet:
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: 1.2rc2
Kernel Version: 3.0.8+
Build Number: mid-eng 4.0.3
CPU: ARM Cortex A8 1GHz
GPU: ARM Mali 400 MP GPU
RAM: 512MB
-How do I tell if a recovery is installed?
-How do I flash a recovery?
-How do I flash a custom ROM, and what is the highest Android version my Tablet can support?
I think my Tablet is rooted, because when I typed "su" into a terminal, I was given "#".
You could use this app. Touch the icon and it gives you several options, one of which is 'Boot into Recovery'. It's free:

Rooting means you have root access to your phone. You can modify/change by attaining root access.
It does not upgrade your firmware.
You can flash the firmware / rom on your phone only after getting root access.
Search on xda for any custom firmwares for your device.
