[Q] Turn mobile apps around? - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hello,
Is there a plugin, or anyting else, which would make it possible to turn mobile apps (on the TP) around? I would like to do that because they are always turned in such a way that the speaker at the bottom is and when for instance using Spotify the the tablet can't be resting normally on your legs because the audio is bad than. So does anyone know of something? I can't find anything...

[Q] Does anyone know how to keep the bluetooth connection active with screen off?

Because of the lack of physical buttons to control the music player I went out and got a bluetooth headset for the archos. Which works great all the buttons work, but once I push pause the archos goes to sleep and shuts off bluetooth is there any way to stop this?

You should try it with some kind of battery saver app or so
In these program you can set if you want turning wifi off when your archos sleep and such stuff i think a bluetooth option will be there, try different apps
I had the same problem...
Since you need your Archos to not go to sleep, there needs to be a wakelock active. Since most apps use wakelocks automatically (for example the music player activates a wakelock for as long as it plays music, but drops it the moment you press pause and the device goes to sleep) you need to get one yourself. Maybe there is a simple app or gadget for that so you can search for it, the key word you need is wakelock.
On the other hand, I use the Terminal Emulator app which has an option to take a wakelock in the menu and leave it running in the background, so you can use it if you find nothing else.
Anyway, remember to drop the wakelock when you stop listening to music, cause you'll drain your battery keeping the Archos running even with the screen off.
I was able to get SuperPower running on my archos. It's in the market but doesn't show up on the archos so I had to download it on another android device and then transfer it over, but it has a feature that allows you to delay the BT shut down for up to five minutes. It's not perfect, but I generally only need to pause for a little while to talk to someone. and I can live with turning it back on after really long stretches. I'll keep looking for something better and post it if I find it.
You can try Softlocker. It's free and available in the market. I use it to keep my wifi open during sleep. I guess it would do the same for bluetooth, but i've never tried it.

[Q] Android Tablet/Phone Mimic screen.

Hi
I have tried searching the net, here, and everywhere else.
I am unsure if I am even searching using the right terminology.
I have a A501 and a SGSIII.
I want to mount the Tablet in my car and then have the ability to remotely (Bluetooth preferable, but if I have do it WIFI that is ok.) control my phone, which may be in my pocket or in my bag.
So basically have the tablet display my phone screen.
Be able to stream the music from there.
Use Data (Maps and other Internet based things.)
So, is it possible?
I know there are "Mimic" head units available.
This is something similar, but would prefer it not to be handled via a cable, and just use my current tablet as the external screen for the mobile phone.

[H] XTZ with docking station

Hi all,
I got my XTZ with docking station the other week.
When I first connected to the cradle it started some app I just dismissed and didn't really care about at the time.
Now its started every time I dock the tablet, but there is a bug I think. The volume starts to go crazy ON/OFF on the tablet.
As if the volume down button is hold, but when I try to volume up with the HW the button it automatically gets down again. When I remove the tablet everything is OK.
I didn't find it to be a known issue and any way to resolve it.
Is there a workaround?
Hate to use the tablet just as photo frame when docket, I would like to use it as a player also.

Take a look at Smart Connect - in the "View" tab it allows you add start and end actions when charging via the dock - this includes starting apps, open webpages, playing media tracks etc ... I suspect your offending app is being triggered by this - simply delete it and add your own (or have it do nothing like I did).

The misbehaving app is most likely the Crackle app (see THIS THREAD) that came pre-installed on the tablet and currently, no amount of tinkering with it or Smart Connect will cause it to not start when the tablet is placed into the charging cradle. My research has found it to be a Crackle bug, not a Sony bug. You can solve the problem by uninstalling the pre-installed Crackle app and then installing the Crackle app (version 3.0.2) provided by Amazon.com. Do not install the Crackle app provided by Google's Play Store, it is the same version (3.0.11) that is pre-installed on the tablet. The main difference I have experienced between Crackle 3.0.2 from Amazon.com and Crackle 3.0.11 from Google's Play Store is 3.0.2 displays its selection screens in portrait mode whereas 3.0.11 displays its selection screens in landscape mode. Both versions of Crackle display videos in landscape mode.
Its actually Smart Connect (LiveWare™ Mgr) I think. I downloaded and tested some other apps for cradle like Night clock and even when not docked it behaves the same way if started - Smart connect was not started.
Any workaround? Seems like XTZ issue to me if other apps from the market behave like this as well. I think I found a menu where I can set what to happen if connect to dock/charger, but it has no option to remove auto Silent mode.
It seems strange as my dock station is completely controllable. My XTZ behaves exactly the way I want it to.
Maybe you can try to uninstall ane reinstall Smart Connect. Then go to Dock tab, set the sound to normal whenever your tablet is docked

Haha thats funny.
I actually can't find SmartConnect as an app. Tried to tinker a bit more with the settings, but realized it is only accessible if started by docking in the cradle. Not in either app browser or app management .
Didn't have access to the cradle yesterday, and when I have access I usually don't have the time.
Today when I connect it automatically started with music playback (still muted) and gallery slideshow. I found it has 4 types of events connect to dock (labeled View??), When on Mobile, When in Home, etc. But none had added option to turn sound OFF. When I added clock to View event, it didn't start the clock, but actually turned on the music player
Any idea how the app is labeled in App managed, or if it is in the app browser with a different name?
Go to Play Store and search for Smart Connect. If it is not installed, install it. If it is, you will see an option to open it.
So far I cannot think of any other solutions for you except Smart Connect. Sorry if I am not helpful
I don't know if Smart Conncet is pre-installed because apps are automatically installed when I link XTZ to my Google account. All apps in my Xperia phone are downloaded to XTZ.
Whenever I dock my tablet I get a popup asking me to choose one of my dowloaded bedside clock/alarm apps. I went into Smart Connect and deleted all events but the popp continues to show. Any ideas what could be causing the auto launch? Thanks.

audio from tablet to phone - bluetooth? hotspot?

Hi all,
I've got a conundrum that I can't seem to work out from Googling. I suppose I will give the background then my question.
I use my xperia z2 tablet at the gym to watch TV shows because the treadmill is even more uninteresting than the landscape around my place. I don't like to be hooked up to it via headphones because I don't want to accidentally pull it over. So - I use a bluetooth audio receiver I plug my headphones into, and they receive the audio from the tablet (which is paired with the receiver).
I would prefer to just use my phone in place of the receiver, because the receiver is cheap and doesn’t work so well (and i cant believe it can't be done).
I thought two options could be:
1 using the phone as a bluetooth receiver, or
2 somehow using the wifi hotspot on the phone to enable the audio from the tablet to play through the phone.
Am I strange? Any ideas? Does something already exist or is it even possible?
Thanks.
Further update - I've asked at an electronics store and they had no idea. But I have faith in the people on here. Anyone?

[Q] Android built-in a old car

Hello! First sorry for my poor language.
Polish android forums can tell me only stupid ideas, these people can't use brains.
I want to open discussion about mounting smartphone with Android to car. Important things: considered connect charger(i have car electric items and idea how to connect and hide wiring), make car recorder(AutoGuard app), make audio source(bluetooth connected for car radio - without wiring), sometimes use Torque app(i have OBD 2 mini ELM adapter).
I have some old phone - Samsung SM-G350. Car is passat b5, but its not important.
My samsung is rooted, have cyanogenmod 11 on android 4.4.4. I'm searching ideas for reaction in my telephone when i turn on my engine. For example - if i turn engine on, car charger is working and callphone battery is loading. I want to in this moment run AutoGuard and start recording, or screen is displaying always and is unlocked.
Have some ideas? Maybe change android files? Some scripts? Help me, i need to good advices.
You need the Android Auto for that, old cars don't usually have it.
To have something mounted, your best option is to get an Android Auto receiver, but you'll have to do the research with your car info and stuff like that. You could also just get a simple phone mount for pretty cheap on an online store like Amazon.
With Tasker, possibly, you might be able to use that root capability to its potential by setting up some automation stuff that opens apps once the phone detects power input (once it is plugged in).
Android Auto is a good option, but I don't think that it runs on Android 4.4.4. You'll have to get something newer.
(I also just realized that this is a really old thread that people are responding to now. )
