Im flashing the UCLD2 base rom by flaphjaxx... I have read up and I do have a basic understanding of whats going on. like I said ive already flashed my own galaxy note att and its running fine. the difference is with this one i keep getting the error message and ive tried to find the temp file to deleate it but ive had no success of finding it and im not evern sure that would be the fix which is why im here trying to get some answers

I can't stress it enough read up on the how tos before jumping in -
it looks from your note you don't have clockwork mod recovery installed - do some research on how to install that - that will be your first step
then once you have it installed, download the custom ROM zip file to your i717 note
the description for flashing it is here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664980 make sure you read it and know what you're getting into or it will be a headache later on
now to give you a short summary -
boot into recovery
select backup and backup your current ROM
Wipe data/factory reset
select Install from SDCARD
navigate your sdcard to locate the zip file
select it to install it

thanks guys for some reason i wasent paying attention and i unlocked the phone but didnt install clockwork recovery......how the heck that happened is beyond me..but thanks for pointing out my problem..

Just for the record, you should still read the basics on Rooting, Modding roms, etc.. You keep on using the wrong terminology and procedures. You may dodge a bullet today or tom but you will eventually get yourself in a jam.

[Q] Can't see my sd-card on CWM 5.8.4.8 to install new Rom

Hi
I was going to install a new rom, but is shows me a #7 error. I google it and I found that I must update CWM to install the new rom, so I update it by using Rom Manager to CWM v5.8.4.8. And now I can't see my sd card files.
My phone doesn't have any system/rom right now, I make these steps and then I got the problem
1. Factory Data reset
2. Wipe Dalvik
3. Format System
4. Install Zip from Sdcard (when I did this step I get the problem)
What should I do now?
The only thing that I can do with my phone is to enter to CWM
Please help me step by step of what should I do.
I still beginner in these installation things, so please be patience with me
This is the Rom that I want to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1914230&page=64

I had this same issue before, I had to go back to an older CWM version. I read somewhere that 5.8.4.8 doesn't support installing a zip from sd card.I will look to see what version is the latest that does support this, and if possible upload it for you!!
Agreed...
revert to older CWM versions, or use TWRP......g
Yeah. I have 5.0.2.7 I believe. Works great. P.s. great choice of ROMs!! Also check out the jelly beer or eclipse ROM!

[Q] Galaxy S 2 Boot Error

Hi Everyone! just a rookie here in need of a bit of advice.
I'm a Galaxy S II I9100 owner and have my phone rooted and all setup with custom roms and been comfortable with flashing for some time now. My ROM of choice recently was Vanilla Rootbox and have to say the ROM has been fantastic with very few bugs to report. Last night i recieved the OTA update via Goo Manager for Vanilla Rootbox 3.4. I downloaded the full update over wifi and flashed with all wipes no worries. Next step was to flash the latest GAPPS and i figured there would be nothing wrong with flashing the GAPPS zip i had on my sd card that i had downloaded the last time i was notified of a GAPPS update via Goo manager as well. After flashing, wiping everything and rebooting again. My phone then booted up to a series of dialog boxes indicating that many google processes had stopped functioning. apps.google.com etc etc. A similar error has been reported in the Vanilla Rootbox thread by another user but i wasnt able to report this bug their either because my post count is too low to post in a development forum. So after seeing this error i rebooted into recovery to flash my last backup but CWM recovery came back with an error messaging stating it couldnt mount either ext or int sdcard. i did a factory reset which made no difference to the problem whatsoever. I then downloaded ODIN and the latest stock ICS Rom and flashed it via ODIN with no reported errors. My phone now boots through the optus boot animation and is stuck at the Galaxy S 2 screen with the flashing red and yellow animation over the S. If i turn off the phone with the power button, the phone turns off and immediately starts again and gets stuck at the flashing s screen. I've taken the battery sim and ext sd card out and put it all back in only for the problem to persist.
If anyone could help me there's a donation and my thanks in it!
Much appreciated
Nick
tried to re flash another stock ROM?
If so, tried factory reset the phone after the flash?
As long as you can get to DL mode, you are good to keep on flashing till you are up & running.
And then you got this
Remember to update your kies and make sure you close it all up before flashing with odin. If you are in 4.0.4 beware of the brick bug.

Kies has never been installed on this computer but i did use the usb drivers mentioned in the soft brick recovery guide you linked. I used some information from the guide to flash this stock rom but i couldnt flash or wipe the partition because im unsure where to get the .PIT file required? i cant get past the boot animation so no factory reset possible and yes i can still get into download mode!

wow wow, leave pit files alone for now, they are nasty.
What stock ROM did you flash? 4.0.4 or 4.0.3?
You can factory reset via recovery mode.
Try installing kies anyway, it can't never hurt. Just make sure all applications are closed before you re-flash.
here's jb leak, might help:

Right so i flashed I9100XWLP8 stock rom (4.0.3). Just then i flashed Siyah Kernel and attempted to use the factory reset function in recovery there, i get a message down the bottom mentioning that it can't mount my internal SD.

Help with rooting and installing custom rom

Hey everyone,
i've got an i9300 device with 4.1.1 (XXDLIH) on it
I wanted to installed a custom rom on it (Omega ROM v38)
First i flashed CWM via Odin like in the instructions, after that i downloaded the rom put it in the sd card and booted the phone into CWM, i did the wipe and factory reset and choosed the rom zip for installing
After about 10 minutes the phone rebooted, but it is still on stock rom, so i thought what could the problem be and remembered that i need to root the phone first.
Now i have the problem that i can't (don't know), i don't know which way i should use for rooting so that i can afterwards install the Omega Custom rom ....
Note that i have now the CWM 5.5 recovery and don't know how to get back to stock recovery ...
Please if someone could tell me exactly what should i do, how exactly to root it and install the rom :/
Thanks everyone in advance
If you think that it would be better to install another custom rom then feel free to tell me

[Q] No Custom Rom Boots

Hi All,
Had my S3 for ever a year now all rooted succesffully and runnung wanamlite roms. all of a sudden it died - Samsung fixed it and my and sent it back however it was now on 4.3.
The problem I have now is that I am not able to boot any custom rom - I just get stuck at the samsung Galaxy GT-I9300 screen.,
Root Phone and install CWM
Check with Root Checker and its successful
installed all types of rom including Wanam 4.3 to no avail
All Stock roms including 4.1.4 work
I'm a bit stumped and any help would be appreciated - its as if my bootloader is locked
Thanks,
Jag
Die you try formatting everything including internal sdcard?
Do you have an international SIII without a simlock? Or was your SIII shipped with a simlock in the first place?
If you have a verzion SIII try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30274025&postcount=317
Ive done a clean rom install through philz cwm - im assuming this is the same as a clean install?
Im based in the uk so doubt I have a verizon model.
Thanks
You say any that presumes you have tried them all .
In recovery format sdcard system data cache boot to download mode flash stock rom or boot to recovery and flash your custom rom .
Really you should start by reading the faqs and guides first .
Hi,
Sorry for being so brief.
I have formatted sd card through mounts and storage and cache
Done a clean ROM wipe also.
Still no custom rom appears to boot - all stock roms flash fine through Odin. Restores of stock ROM are also working fine..
Then you are doing something wrong .
Start with a stock cwm rom .
