No idea what happened but lost access to external sd after flashing latest ICS leak, flashing amon and restoring con rom. Also htc storage says only 12kb available?? Any ideas guys. I feel like such a noob. lol.
If you are still on the gb firmware, you need to run the old firmware patch.

Thanks for the help. I wasn't on gb firmware because I just updated to latest ics leak. Not sure what happened but maybe I was able to get back and will try again today. Thanks.
Did you run the latest ICS ruu (or flash the ph98img) or just flash one of the roms based on the leak? Just trying to clarify.

so obviously i backed up...deleted and formatted..put my stuff back and still same problem. Root Explorer sees all my files just fine...i dont get it. also..it mounts to my PC.
Any ideas?

I've had bluetooth streaming problems with EVERY ICS custom ROM that I've tried before and after 3.11.605.22, and while on the stock RUU itself. I want to get back to a GBE based ROM, on stock firmware but I wonder how it's going to work after having flashed the 3.11.605.22 RUU.
Has anyone gone back? Is it even possible to get back to the previous firmware, or am I SOL?
I assume that a simple nandroid restore is now out of the question (and probably won't fix the bluetooth problem) given the firmware changes with the RUU

it actually is just that simple, flash your GB nandroid and/or ROM the GB kernel.
you will need to flash this file after flashing back to your nandroid/ROM in order for rom to see SD card.. same fix was applied with old firmware to have sd seen on ics roms. its just doing the reverse.

Similar situation. Completely unacceptable power draw is frying my battery on the leak. I'm afraid I'm going to cook my phone, and USB charge can't keep up with the drain unless I put it in airplane mode. I have good nandroid backups of the current OTA release (released February, I think?) but I don't know where to get suitable GB kernel or how to install it. Can you explain?

Thanks. I'll have to give it a try. So you say I should flash a previous backup / ROM from recovery, then flash the kernel (if it doesn't flash as a part of the ROM installation)

yea do the exact same thing you would do as if you are on still on the old firmware.
the ONLY thing you do differently, is flash the .zip file I attached in my other post anything AFTER flashing the new GB ROM/ and/or old backup.. and kernel(in hboot) if not included in ROM.
hey i want to go back to the stock rezound rom that came with the phone, where can i find it? i installed Newts rom and its CONSTANtly rebooting, i can maybe get 1 minute on the phone before it does, which means i cant get anyting onto the SD card, and yes iv tried reflashing the rom, twice, is there anyway to trasnfer things to the SD card from Amon Ra recovery? thansk
Which one of Newt's roms did you flash?
Did you do the ICS RUU update or not?

Yes, in the main menu I think like the 3 option. Mount USB or USB mount will allow you to mount the SD card to the computer and you can file transfer.
i flashed this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501512
and whats the ics RUU? sorry my last android was the mytouch 4g which was much easier haha

The latest ICS leak has new firmware which changes the SD Card mount points (among other things).
When running the latest ICS based roms, you either need to update the firmware or see if the dev offers an SD Card mount patch so the newer version of ICS will work with the older firmware.
I was asking if you installed the RUU because you can't go back to the GB RUU if you did. Since you didn't, mount the card as noted in recovery and use this to go back to a rooted stock rom.
Stock rom - http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=76
Boot Image - http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=77
You'll need to flash the boot image with fastboot like you did your recovery.
And next time, I recommend a nandroid back up before you change roms in case you want to revert back.
So I had unlocked my rezound previously and was running the old firmware and decided I wanted to try CleanROMs DE and I followed the steps exactly including the old firmware patch. The Sdcard never mounted properly so I figured I would try a different ROM, none of which allowed the SDcard to mount properly. I've been using a card reader to do all of this and if anyone has any idea how to recover the sdcard through mounting or if I should flash the RUU to start over at the beginning or the leak to start there, please help me. Thank You!
What rom did you switch too? Are you trying to go to a gingerbread rom? Are you still on the non leaked official firmware that came with the phone?
So I had viper rez installed while I had the gb firmware and had to flash the firmware patch. I decided to make a backup and flash the new ICS RUU which put me on ICS firmware. The patch that I flashed has now prohibited me from being able to see my ext sd card. Can I delete the files that I flashed so I can get my ext sd card to work. If so where are the files so I can undo the firmware patch.

What patch did you try flashing? Old firmware patch?
EDIT: I get it now. You had previously flashed the patch to run S4 on GB firmware. But the patch is causing issues now..? You'd think that after RUUing that the patch wouldn't affect anything. Did you factory reset after RUUing? If not I would. That's caused issues for me in the past.

Yeah, the issue is my rom has the old firmware patch and now I am on the ICS firmware so the patch is causing issues, I need a way to get rid of it

Just edited my post when you replied. Try factory data reset and see if that helps. If not RUU again possibly. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a way to revert the patch too.
Option 1 reflash viper Rom. Or flash New firmware patch and it will restore it
Hey Guys,
I hope everyone's New Year is off to a good start. I wanted to start mine by getting finally getting rid of the GB firmware my Rezound has been running on.
I had a few questions related to the RUU and Nandroids.
My current setup is:
Nils' ICS Business Sense 4.0 v2.8
Funky Kernel
S-On
The question I had relates to Nandroids of my Rom as it currently is.
Will I be able to run the RUU (after a re-lock) to update my firmware and then restore one of my current Nandroids or will they not work?
Thanks,
Chris

They should work fine as long as you use the same recovery as before the RUU.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Just remember that since you're s-on, the nandroid restore won't bring back your kernel. You'll have to flash that manually.
Awesome! Will keep those in mind, thanks for getting back to me so quickly guys.
Switching from GB to ICS firmware will change the SD card mount point also, I'm assuming you flashed the old firmware patch on your current rom when you installed it, there's another patch to revert it back...

Yeah I think I have that bookmarked somewhere. I ran into a larger problem which is that I relocked and am running into the mainver error when trying to run the PH98IMG. What is the easiest way to fix this?

There's a mainver fix around here that will reset it on the phone when you flash it, I think it's posted somewhere in the dev section.

Yeah I went and did it the old fashioned way of just editing the Androidinfo.txt document as I found described. Do you happen to have the patch to revert back my mount points, I used the search tool across all of the Rezound forums and wasn't able to find it.
Thanks,
Chris

It was linked off the firmware thread in the dev section.

I haven't checked it lately and can't get to androidfilehost from work.

Ok got it, I downloaded the file called new_firmware_Patch.zip because it is listed as for those upgrading to ICS firmware on a GB rom Or and ICS rom that had the gingerbread patch flashed over it.
I am actually going to run the mainver fix flash (after unlocking) because for some reason I couldn't get the RUU to run after editing the Android File Version, I'll let you know how everything works once I get further along.

I was able to get back up and running after the Nandroid.
Flashed the Rom
Restored my nandroid
Flashed Kernel
Flashed Reverse Patch (new_firmware_Patch.zip)
Looks good, waiting for everything to settle and hoping my Sense 4 battery life improves with the new firmware.
