[Q]s2 gt-i9100 firmware update HELP! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HI
I just got my gt-i9100 2.3.3
its baseband i9100 XXKDJ
BUILD NUMBER GINGERBREAD XEKE1
my location is pakistan
can i update to xwlpg ics

Yes, just use Odin.
Learn how to use Odin.

If you flash it manually basically you can use any firmware. For safety use from SamMobile.

i download xwlpg
but theres only one file pda
where can i get CSC AND PHONE?

Every thing is in it, just put it in pda.
File should be tar.md5

Make sure when using Odin your phone is in download mode, you have the Kies Drivers installed on your computer and then kill the Kies Processes through Task Manager or else Odin won't work properly!
Chris.

its the leaked IRAQ ROM JPLPC which has urdu aswell.
apart from that LPLPC, JHLP9, XXLPW all got the battery percent, no mods required.
I only use stock or AOSP.

My recommended rom is Hydra H2O 1.4,i dont use a battery mod but i use siyah kernel 3.2.6 for longer battery life and better performance

Which ROM ?
Try this :
1)Boot CWM and Wipe cache factory reset
2)Start phone normally , then shutdown
3)Uninstall the ADB drivers on your PC , use ones provided in flashtoool
4)Try flashing Now
If still no working then
~Try flashtool on another PC, a clean one
Set up ANdroid SDK and drivers afresh
~Try many data cables
I used 6-7 cables and a Blackberry one worked
Arrr no joy never mind good excuse for new phone

Facing distorted fonts on my S3 without having done anything. And when I touch the screen, they become Ok.
Any idea what might be causing this and how to get rid of it?
Please suggest..
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Revert to the default font and default size (normal) in the settings. That should fix it. Otherwise, throw phone at wall til it works.
Trust me, I tried the first option already but it didn't work..
For the second one, shall try it with your when we meet in person..
Till then, please suggest how to get rid of it..

Doesn't help.. Tried..
And i flashed the ROM again thru ODIN after /format/system, still the issue persists..
Edit:
Remains after Flashing even XALE8 from XBLFB, so might be app specific issue?
Is it just one app or your whole phone including stock software?

At present seen in Volume+ Beta app, YouTube Downloader and Bollywood Mp3 app. Mainly on the sub menu screen window..

Hmm maybe it's just bad coding on the part of the App author.
E.g. using system-defined font size but app-defined textbox sizes does not work well together on large screens but won't be an issue on most others.
Try going to Settings->Display and set 'Font size' to 'Tiny' Does it fix the issue in these apps?
Still doesn't help. I also tried these apps without even adding my Account after Flashing the ROM yet same result.
Seems gotta live with it..

thank you very much, is that firmware safe for my gti19100 galaxy s2? (the one with the middle physicall button and 2 touch buttons? i bought it in portugal free of carrier branding.
EDIT: i see alot of versions, where can i get latest official version?
4.0.3 is the latest version for this fone, there is no official 4.0.4 that's safe.

You can get 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 just visit sammobile.com and go to firmware and choose the firmware for your country and flash. Although the country doesn't matter and also 4.0.3 is recommended

Thank you all very much for all ur replies, it semms that i probably will have no choice but to use this alternative, however i still have 1 last question if i may:
Is there a reliable way for me to know the official latest firmware for my phone through odin?
If your keeping the fone & want a close to stock, rock solid ICS ROM then try Omega V15, you have the option to further enhance the UI by adding jkays deluxe settings. It comes in plain stock 4.0.3, ICS or Black n blue themed. There all excellent but it's widely believed the more intelligent users stick to ICS v15. I've been using it for months with no issues, it's super stable, not,a fc in sight
Here's my homescreen, using apex launcher....

battery charge bug

I need help. While my phone is turned off and i charge it, we all get thebattery icon with a circle loading at first and then showing us the percentage of battery. Right? Well in my case the loading circle stucks and then the screen goes black so i cant check the battery percentage with hone off. But the phone charges correctly. Currently i am on simplicity v4 with stock kernel. Any ideas? (i used odin to go to stock rom and kernel and the same problem happens in stock too)

hv same problem with simplicity v3.5......maybe its a bug in simplicity roms.....
Same bug here (i'm using Simplicity v4).
Flashing twice via odin helps to solve this problem.(flash twice or it wont work)
I'm also using simplicity rom (v3), and in my case there is no problem.

The stock JB 4.1.2 update for SGS2 isn't out everywhere but only some countries... They're gonna release in sometime in your area too.. you'll just have to wait...(if its out in your place then check whether you're running stock unrooted ROM and connect to kies)
Well if you just can't wait then get your phone rooted and flash any JB 4.1.2 of samware like NeatRom or Wanamlite...else..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113489
Press thanx if I helped...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
you can't upgrade, cause yr country/provider hasn't got yet the official update...
eiter you wait for that (cause they have started rolling the 4.1.2)
either you search a little more in XDA (or sammimobile) and you will find stock firmware (spain, argentina, italy, nordic....)
SEARCH !!!!
The JB update wasn't available for my region as well but I went ahead and updated to the latest Neatrom Lite!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686
its been amazing! super smooth and the best part is its a modified Samsung JB ROM that was released for EU countries! so if you don't want to wait...i'd definitely recommend it! :good:
