[Q] Auto correct/spell check issue - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Im having problem with my spell check and I was wondering if it's universal issue. Last night that little section with the spell check over the keyboard was there and I wake up today and it's gone completely gone I have tried resetting the phone, canceling the keyboard, changing the keyboard nothing has worked. Has anybody else had this issue been able to fix it?

There is a million keyboards... Which one would you be referring to?

I prefer using swiftkey but the standard keyboard is also having the same issue. I also downloaded the third keyboard and the same issue persists

With auto rotation turned on, go from portrait to landscape and then back again while the keyboard is open.

XDA IIi Questions

Can anyone assist with a couple of questions I have:
1. Since installing all the various bits of software on my IIi the screen rotation icon has disappeared from the bottom right of the today screen. Is there a way to get it back?
2. Because of the above, I re programme the camera, button 3 to rotate the screen, however it seems to default back to Camera after a soft reset. Is this a know problem?
Cheers

We have been discussing this over on TekGuru. It is a problem others are experiencing as well and so far no one has figured out a way to get it back or what causes it to disapear. Presumably you still have the screen rotation icon on your O2 Active Screen.
If you use or decide to use SPB Pocket Plus, you can use it to put screen rotation icons on your Today Screen.
The other thing to do is to assign it to a hardware button as yu have done. I assigned it to the calendar button when holding it down (I am using Vito's ButtonMapper which allows each hardware button to do two different functions).
It does not default back to the original setting after a soft reset but it may be that the camera button works in a different way.
Thanks for the update, my only thought on this is that it seemed to disappear after I added the additional software from the o2 CDROM.
Hopefully this will be fixed in the next ROM update, which hopefully will include Blackberry support

[Q] Screen orientation delay going back to portrait?

At&t Samsung galaxy s 2 running SHOstock, The screen orientation on my device seems to have a delay when switching to portrait but not when I switch to landscape, also when i lay the phone flat it switches to landscape view. I haven't had this problem until I tried a the ported cm9 rom, then I switched back to my original rom, unnamed and I started getting this issue, I then switched to shostock to see if this would fix the problem but it didn't, I've done factory resets, cleared cache, and used odin to switch to stock. I've used sensor testers like z-device test and sensor debug and couldn't find a solution, any suggestions to fixing this? Besides hitting the phone on my desk praying it will fix itself?

[Q] HP2 running FRX07.1 - Backlight not working

Hi there! I got an HP2 recently and picked up the FRX07.1 bundle. Everything is pretty solid except for the fact that the keyboard backlight does not turn on when the keyboard is slid open. It used to work though? So I don't know why it stopped lighting up all of a sudden.
Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated since I can't text worth a damn in the dark.
First, you posted in the wrong section - probably because you only have 0 posts before this one.
Second, I assume you mean TP2? I was thinking you meant HD2 at first and were in the wrong section entirely, but that doesn't have a keyboard.
Either way I kind of lost track of this bug. Last time I remember, you have to disable automatic brightness for the keyboard backlight to work.
Settings -> Display -> Automatic Brightness, uncheck.

Screen problem after updated to I9300XXDLIB via OTA

I have an issue after the update. On random moments the screen rotates by itself despite the phone being in portrait position it rotates to landscape for a second and returns to portrait. It's irritating. Anyone has the same problem?
If this happens when an app supports landscape it stays on landscape, when not - like home screen it just kind of flickers to landscape and back.
I tried turning auto-rotate off - does not help. I calibrated the sensor - does not help. Scanned for viruses - none found.
First flash any previous fw and check if problem persists.
Sent from an electronic device.
I'll wait with flashing back and forth until someone may know what is the deal with this.
Dzięki
Did a factory reset. It helped. Screen flickers no more.
I have the exact same problem! Auto-rotate is off and running in portrait mode.
It started about two weeks ago, but I ignored it because I thought flashing a new rom would fix it. It didn't.
Before I was running Xliterom (ICS) but yesterday I flashed Vanilla Rootbox (JB).. the problem was still there, and I obviously wiped data/cache/dalvik etc. So then I decided to try Foxhound and the problem is still there. Can anybody help me figure this out? Hardware problem..? Could it be some app causing this?
It just happens at random times, in random apps. Even at homescreen sometimes.

Top Screen touch not working well when battery low

Hmmmm, not sure why but sometimes when my battery is low, some parts of the top of the screen tend to stop registering touch input. As an example, if i'm in the Play Store and I try to touch the search bar to bring up the keyboard but it doesn't work...also sliding down from top to bring down notifications also doesnt work.
Anybody else have this issue?
nope
I've never had the screen stop registering touches, but I often have the notification bar stop responding to swipes.
I can resolve the latter by going to the lock screen and trying it there. The notifications will always open from there, and it starts working after being done once.
I've also set up a gesture shortcut to open the notifications by swiping down with two fingers. I'm using Nova Launcher, and that one always works.

I also am using Nova and have had prime installed for a long time.
I also had this issue (though at 100% battery) after a reboot. Rebooting again didn't work. Switched to TouchWiz briefly which also didn't work, but then I hit the Nova Prime button (already installed) and after reverting to Nova Launcher it started working again. Not sure exactly what fixed it though.
I think I'll send a link to the Nova dev and see what he thinks

I sent en email to the devs with a link to the thread. Maybe they will find the cause of the problem
I restored my phone 2 times in the past week and problem randomly comes back. I don't even have to have a low battery, it did it to me 10 minutes after taking it off the charger for a full night. I have no idea what is the cause but about 1/2 inch of the entire top of my screen has no response to touch. I can solve this by rebooting but recently i discovered that if i flip my phone and force it to rotate the screen, the problem stops right away. I doubt its a hardware issue, but then again, if it was software, a restore should have solved that issue.
This is happening to me as well and I'm using Apex, not Nova. Seems like it's been randomly happening since 5.1.1 was installed. Any word yet on a fix?
