Anyone come to the S III from the Fascinate?
Do you feel it was a worth while upgrade?
I'm at that point where I want to get a new phone after having the Fascinate for a few years and need to think about my upgrade... I realize that there may not be that many users of the S III with the release date not till July.
Let me know what you think I appreciate your feedback!

Hello:
I just would like to start this thread wanting to know if you guys know when Samsung is going to release Gingerbread for this amazing phone. Since the last rumors that I heard said on March, now were on May and still nothing from Samsung and on top of that SGS II is already on the market and I feel that Samsung will forget about us...
I appreciate all the effort that people has put to port Gingerbread from the international Galaxy S and I know that are a few bugs on those ports, and not all the people will run to install it on their stock phones, specially, since to get Gingerbread at this point they need clockwork or odin and some knowledge on how to do the process, and that will keep it away from the masses; but still thank you very much to all the people that's working to get it for the Vibrant
Finally I would like to say that this community is the coolest thing ever and thank you all for making like that, best regards.
Does anyone know if devs like adrynalyne, jt, ninjitsu and imnuts are going to support the new samsung vzw phones? I had vowed not to get another sammy bc of the whole froyo thing, but, when I finally got the seeds to use the stuff put out by these guys to update and mod my phone, I am in love with it again. I personally don't care what sammy and vzw do bc I would always use these guys' programming over their's. I think everyone loves the samsung hardware and I would stick to it forever if I knew these guys would be the ones to make it run!!!

Certainly, I can say with 100% certainty that nobody knows WHEN for certain.
ICS roms will pop up here as fast as humanly possible once we have source code. As for an official update from Samsung to ICS: given the history with the Captivate getting official gingerbread, don't hold your breath. In fact don't even stay up late waiting for it to get home. You might as well order a pizza and turn on Netflix because you're in for a long, lonely night like an Eagles song.

there is already a STICKIED thread for this..

There shouldn't be any doubt as to whether all the GSII variants will get ICS. They WILL. It is Samsung's flagship phone they are going to support it for a while. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, and Sony Ericsson have signed a new contract with Google to provide more timely updates. Given you may have to wait a few months after source is released to get ICS, after than updates should come very fast. But either way...custom ROMs will probably get you there sooner.
I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help and all the developers here for extending the life my Eris WAY past what Verizon was willing to support. Thanks to you guys, I've been running the latest version of Gingerbread and enjoying my Eris. My upgrade time is finally here and I have purchased a Droid Bionic. I will be moving there for all my rooting needs. Yes that means I have an Eris that isn't doing anything at the moment. I'll likely use TheROM to make it into an MP3 player/Wifi Analyzer. If not, I might be willing to give it to a developer who plans to continue developing for the Eris. Let me know if you're interested in it and we'll see. Thanks again everybody!
Here's the situation, I currently have a Sensation, T-Mobile. Figured out how to Root, how to flash. Also figured out I don't ever want a phone running stock EVER EVER EVER again. So now I'm going to buy a Amaze Or Galaxy S2. No I don't need it, but this **** Is cool. I'm 40 years old, have 5 daughters, an ex wife, and a good wife, so learning, and messing with these phones Is really something I enjoy.
From what I see Samsung seems to always have more devs than HTC. I also THINK wholegrain Cm Is pretty important as I see it, because there support leads to MIUI and more stuff. So here are my questions.
1. Will CM develop for both phones, ?
2. Will MIUI come to both?
3. Will one receive more help than the other?
Please feel free to let me know If any of my thinking Is wrong. I'm a noob and I'm 40 so I'm the worst kind. Ha

TMI . You should get the Galaxy S2 over the Amaze. CyanogenMod is already available for the Galaxy S2 and so is MIUI (so obviously the Galaxy S2 has more development going on).
