Bluetooth share keeping phone awake and killing battery? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

So I noticed when my phone is connected via bluetooth to my jabra freeway visor speaker I have an app or service in my battery use screen called bluetooth share. The awake time for this app matches the time bluetooth has been enabled and seems to be killing my battery faster than usual. I force stopped it and my bluetooth stayed connected so I'm not sure what this app or service is. Any thoughts or ideas?

I don't know what the specific function of bluetooth share, but in my experience when my A2DP headset used to stop playing music while the song is still going and bluetooth is still connected, that the process for bluetooth share force closes shortly after. If i had to guess i would have to think that bluetooth share has something to do with the audio stream through the bluetooth stack, so it would be on if your car kit is connected.
Does the car kit support both the media profile as well as the phone profile? If it has A2DP abilities it might be keeping an open channel for your phone to stream media audio through it even though you are not playing music.

That would make sense as my speaker does have A2DP capability. Its a shame it seems to chew through battery but i only use bt in my car and always have a car charger on hand.

as many as you can pair up
you can for example stream to your car audio
meanwhile you have a Bluetooth watch, and a bluetooth headset
so when a calls comes in you can pick it up with the headset instead of car speaker, and vice versa
you can also make a phone from the caller ID wrist watch, and accept or deny a call
you can play remote control cars/boats/planes if you can pair with it
also you can use those wii like BT controllers
and also stream to stereo BT headsets
you can pair several phones together to transfer files and phone books
etc
the possibilities are endless

playing music via Bluetooth?

Has anyone gotten this phone to work playing music through your car stereo through Bluetooth?
I'm paired fine and calls come through stereo, but music still comes through phone speaker. My gf isn't around atm or i'd ask her(she got her HD7 to do bluetooth music on my stereo).
I at least know that once it's paired, it's a phone setting.
I have mine paired with my Sony Bluetooth car stereo and it plays fine. I did have one instance where it played through the phone speaker but it corrected itself the next day.

There should be an option depending on what music player you are using to determine what output you are using. Kinda like if you had a bluetooth earbud, you wouldn't want to play music through it, just receive your calls through it.

So all you did was just pair, started music player, then it automatically went through Bluetooth?
No matter what I do, it just keeps going through phone speaker(only calls go through Bluetooth). I've tried with default music player and poweramp.
I don't have anything bluetooth to try, but there are no options at all to choose output path either in BT or Music player?

Under advanced Bluetooth options there is one labeled FTP Server which I believe you need to have on in order to stream music. Hmm... Tried turning Bluetooth on and off on both the phone and stereo, even rebooted phone. Blah!

When you pair a headset that is stereo capable, it will pair to 2 things, phone audio and media. Have you tried to unpair and pair and see if that fixes it?
I have paired my Rezound with a set of bluetooth stereo headphones and also with my car stereo. I have noticed that the media audio connection is intermittent. It always *says* that it is connected to media audio, but sometimes the sound comes out of my phone speaker anyhow. I have not figured out how to fix this. It seems to happen randomly (more frequently with my car stereo than with the headphones, but it has happened with both). All I can recommend is to go into a Disconnect/Unpair/Pair/Connect loop until you get it to work. It might also help to power cycle your phone. I just did that last night and it paired and connected properly with my car stereo this morning.
This all of course assumes you have checked "Media" under the options screen for the device with which you are pairing.

If it behaves like any other Android phone, when it links up to a bluetooth connection with the audio profile enabled, it should automatically route it's sound to bluetooth, there's no setting in the music player to toggle that.

My car has the option for bluetooth media and when I sync'd the phone to the car last night for the first time it worked flawlessly I didn't have to to anything special. I don't think it's a problem with the phone, maybe the car stereo?
I suspect the phone since I've seen the same intermittent problem both with my car stereo and my headphones. Plus I never had any problem with my original Droid with both those devices.

Update: did a plain old pair with the HTC HD7 again and the music came through the stereo just fine. Tried again with the Rezound and still keeps going through the phone speakers. Oh well... My fault for trusting HTC.. ;P

Bluetooth streaming in car won't work

First android phone I've had that has this issue.
I have my phone paired with my car's OEM bluetooth (confirmed by my car), but everytime I try and stream a song it still plays through my phone speaker instead of my car, even though my car shows it playing. I've used 5 other android phones with my car with zero issues. Any ideas?
With the sim card issue and now this, I'm thinking of returning this phone.
I have no problems whatsoever. What rom are you running? Details?

I'd say its a simple menu option on the phone. Mine is perfectly happy to play music and navigation instructions through the Bluetooth. Are you able to make/receive calls through Bluetooth?

Open up the YouTube app and at the top there will be a blue button. Press it. This toggles sound through speakers/Bluetooth.

I have never had your problem however. Since i have and the DNA after i paired the phone with my car. While in the Bluetooth setting i had to click the radio option to connect it. It never would automatically connect till after i did that. Now it connects when i turn it on.

Only one of two things I can think of:
- You get into the car with another device connected with AVRCP capabilities, and it's taking priority over your car's media audio connection. Thus, you're left with the car connected to phone audio, and your bluetooth headphones/Jambox/etc. playing music. HOwever, you specifically mentioned the music was playing through your phone speaker, so the only other possibility is...
- Go into settings, Bluetooth, and click on the sliders/settings icon next to your car's connection name. Ensure both Media Audio and Phone Audio are checked.
Beyond that, I would try unpairing all your Bluetooth profiles and reconnecting them. BT has been pretty finnicky for me, across handsets and accessories.
Sense devices haven't worked well in my car. Other devices have seemed to work a little better. But my car is a 2005. So think it depends on the car software. You might try upgrading the firmware on your car's setup if all of the other options fail.
No BT music streaming here too

I also do not get why my dna won't stream through BT in my car or truck. I mostly listen to Pandora...I know there is a BT setting in the app and I have it enabled. I can receive/make calls fine but if I want to stream Pandora through the vehicles speakers, I have to plug in the 3.5 mm jack. In my BT settings on the dna, I only have Phone Audio, no option for Media Audio? In BT settings, under Advanced, there is FTP server (not checked) and Message access, which is checked and that's it? I have not tried another music source to try to stream, but I'll try that next. Update: just tried Slacker radio and it doesn't come through the vehicles speakers either

There is a Bluetooth audio streaming problem with the recent non-GPS Toyota head units. I have a 2012 4Runner, and I'm only able to get the Google Play Music app to stream for a few seconds. The phone thinks it's still working, but nothing is getting through to the stereo. There was a thread about this started over on Rootzwiki. I've been told that the stock HTC music app will work, but in don't keep any media on my phone. I've tried Audible, Play Music, and Dog Catcher. Bluetooth calls work just fine.

It isn't enough that your head unit is "Bluetooth enabled". There are many capabilities: phone, hands free, BT audio, etc. On many models, only phone capabilities are included. For BT Audio to be output, you need a head unit that is A2DP capable (above, I typed AVRCP, which is incorrect - AVRCP allows the BT device to control playback...the RC stands for remote control). A2DP is the profile the BT device (in this case your head unit) uses to tell the phone what capabilities it can handle. In this case, it's only telling the phone it has headset capabilities, and therefore will never output audio. Solution: get a new head unit, or just continue to use the 3.5MM jack, which has two benefits: it's ****ing free, and you can take advantage of the Beats Audio amp within the phone.
FYI, with stock Hyundai, Kia, Ford Sync head units, I've been able to output all audio: Google Music, Pandora, Slacker, DoggCatcher, along with all system sounds and notifications. I really don't think this is a phone problem, it's usually something going wacky at the car's end. See bluefoam's comment above about having to enable A2DP in the car's settings. Never seen this, but proof of the idiocy of head unit makers sometimes.
Hope that helps. This doesn't seem to be an issue with the OP, because he said he'd been able to play music over BT with other phones, so I'm intrigued to know if this is a problem with an unchecked box like I mentioned, or if there's something else going on.

Yes, very helpful, thanks. And yea, its really not a big deal to plug in the jack...my car and truck both came with audio jacks so at least there's that.

bluetooth audio issue

Anyone experience this? connected to the car bluetooth, but when i off the infotaintment and stop the car, the music continue playing using the phone speaker. H'mmm not a bit issue but very troublesome to stop what is playing every time
I read in a review that there's a setting you can change which lets you have music continue playing after removing headphones or have it automatically pause, I believe this setting will also affect bluetooth audio as well, perhaps this will help? I can't say if it is this though, I haven't got mine yet but it will be good for me to know too as I connect my phone to my car's stereo via bluetooth and will do the same with the Z2.

Issues with Bluetooth?

So I have a Ford Edge with a bluetooth receiver where I can play music, as well as some headphones, and I'm having intermittent issues when using this type of playback. The issue doesn't occur with my partner's Note 5, does anybody have any issues with stereo bluetooth? I'm close to writing to LG about it so they can log with (possibly) other reports for the same issue.

Just today i had issues with mine, i have one the parrot devices on my car and it picks up my iphone right away but i tried for about 2 minutes to play music from my v10 and it wouldn't connect to it, someones it connect right away its very off and on. I didn't try to unpair it and re-pair it though.
Am I reading that right, are both BT devices trying to connect at the same time? If so I had sorta the same problem in my Audi. I sometimes had to toggle Bluetooth on and off to get it to reconnect. But what I did was go into the Bluetooth settings for each device and specifically select the profile I want to use for that device. So for Audi MMI, which handles the phone calls, I selected the profile "Call Audio" only. Then for my headphones I selected the "Media Audio" profile only. I just figured that if two BT devices are fighting for the same profile only one is going to win it. And it seemed like it was a toss up which one got the call or media profile first.

No, you are not . However, allow me to clarify that the devices I mentioned are having issues on their own when using the V10. One incident is with my car's stereo, if I'm lucky, the audio will hold or it will decide to be a douche and start getting choppy with 1 second gaps.
Also, I'm noticing with the WiFi that my signal is horrible, but my partner's Note5 is perfect and super quick. I really really like this phone, but these issues are a bit annoying.
I have problems with my car stereo too. When I get in the car, it will connect automatically and start playing like normal but only for a minute or two. Then bluetooth will disconnect. So, I turn bluetooth off and on and, it will stay connected after that.
I also have a bose bluetooth speaker which doesnt have any problems.
I just found this thread after posting to the rom thread I am using...
I am having a minor annoyance with Bluetooth and media streaming.
When the phone auto pairs to my cars stereo head unit (Kenwood KDC-BT762HD), system sounds/calls etc come through the car fine, but not Media like music, videos etc.
Phones says it is paired to Media and the head unit does show the song info and I can control the app via hardware buttons on the unit, the phone acts as if it is playing, but no sound is heard. I have to turn bluetooth off then on or re-pair and then it works fine. I thought it was just the music app I use, but its any apps that play media like music or videos, including Pandora and Youtube.
I have 4 varying bluetooth headphones and they auto- reconnect to the phone just fine with no issues.
Anyone else having a an issue like this with any of their car stereos? My G3 never did this.

I don't think its a MM issue or a vehicle specific issue (and i have an aftermarket stereo head unit) I have not had this issue with any of my other MM (or LP)devices I have tried with the radio. I have a spare LG G3 and a Moto X Pure that is running MM that is running MM and many of the mods and same apps I use on my G3 and now V10, again, no BT issues.
I am not having any disconnect or not pairing issues at all....just the odd thing that the media sounds don't work unless i disconnect/then connect the phone to the head unit when I get back into the car and power up and it auto pairs.
My folks have a much more serious issue with their 2015 Ford Escape and Ford Sync and their Samsung S4's they both have. Phone pairs and works fine once, but then the mic acts like its muted, no one can hear u, even if u un-pair the phone from the car, the phone itslef no longer outputs sound at all. You have to reboot the phone in order to get it to work again. It did it when the phones were on Android L and still after the MM update. Web search finds many folks with same issues in regards to that issue. (which is not the issue i am having at all, infact, their phones work fine on my car).
I found a work around for my issue. Since i simply just needed to disconnect and reconnect the BT to my car's head unit, found a widget that does just that. A2DP Connect2. Car auto pairs, i tap widget once, disconnects, wait a few sec, tap again, connects, my media streaming now works fine.
Still a annoyance, but much better than having to navigate menus and such.
BT issues fixed with update to 20j.
I can confirm that the annoying Bluetooth media stream issue in 20e, where you had to re-connect the phone or no media stream....is fixed in 20j. Auto connect works perfectly every time now on my Kenwood head unit.
