[Q] Battery Suddenly Dropping without Usage - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I was on Sensation ROM without any issues. Ran it for months. Could easily go 36 hours with light use - not much drop when not in use (i.e. 8-10% overnight).
Suddenly, it started to drop like 10% an hour out of nowhere. Did this for a few days. I decided to try another ROM (Resurrection), wiped and tried again. I restored missing apps with data (which might be the issue) and it didn't seem to help. Unplugged 2 hours ago at 100%, and it's at 80% already with about 5 minutes of use.
CPU SPy shows 73% in deep sleep, which seems decent and 11% at 200MHZ
Better Battery Stats are confusing to me, but here are the items at the top (red bars showing):
Under Partial Wakelocks - AudioOut shows 4.7%, The media scanner service at 1.5% and some more minor stuff.
Under kernel wakelocks: BT Low power at 4.7%, Secril_fd_interface at 2.9% and multidp at 3.1%
Processes: kworker/0:1, kworker/0:3, kworker/0:2, kworker/0:0.

well the deep sleep should be int the 90's when not in use
looking into ur BBS stats u have audio wakelock and media scanner wakelock
which r draining ur batt thats why its under 200 mhz @ 11%
so please delete data cache of media scanner and also uncheck all ur audio settings under Systemsettings>sound then reboot after that wait for some time by not touchnig ur phone and after that check deepsleep with CPU spy it will be over 90% that ensure better batt life

Have you enabled BlueTooth?
Disable it if you do not actually need it.

Disable GPS, Bluetooth and WIFI when not using it.

Thanks for the help. I checked this morning and the phone is spending most of it's time at (50% or so) 200Mhz when sleeping, so it looks like it's not sleeping properly. I can't find anything called "media scanner" in apps or titanium, so I'm not sure how to delete that cache.
I checked BBS against today and it shows Audio_out as the leading partial wakelock, but how do I fix this? I unchecked everything in audio and rebooted and it didn't seem to help.
Second wakelock is network location active collector. Again, not sure how to fix this (is this location services?). I deleted data under "Network location" in titatium.

clear media storage data using titanium backup
its meda scanner

There is no app or anything called media server in Titanium or in the apps. it seems DRM protected storage and media manager might be it, but i cleared that data and the music disappeared and then the phone eventually froze and would not boot.
Any ideas? I re-flashed the ROM and it didn't fix it. How can this be an issue on two different Roms?
Thanks.

[Q] Insane battery drain after gingerbread update, please advise

Hi, just updated to 2.3.3 stock rom, no flash, using the standard LG upgrade software, from v10q (I believe) to v20g.
I installed no new apps, didn't change a thing on my phone, but now my battery drains in 12h of no use, screen off.
Battery information says the phone never goes to sleep anymore, the blue bar is continuous.
I've tried shutting down running apps using both the phone's built in app manager and Advanced Task Killer, doesn't change a thing.
Searching the forums, I've found people with battery drain, but never the same issue or solution so I'm hoping someone might know something more on my specific situation.
Here's how I use my phone and what apps I generally have running:
Audio Manager Console and Advanced Task Killer are always running, I keep data off most of the time, and turn it on when I use it occasionally (usually no more than a few minutes at a time), no wi-fi, most of the phone usage comes from Think Free Office (at least since I upgraded 2 days ago) and a few minutes of calls. Brightness is always on min.
This is mostly how I generally use my phone all the time (throw in a couple of hours a day of Bluetooth music using the default music player, but this hasn't been the case since the update) and I used to recharge every 2-3 days. Now it's 2 times a day.
Before the upgrade my phone would barely burn any battery in idle (maybe 1-2% during the 12 hours, as opposed to 94% as it currently does)
Battery health seems fine, temperature is around 20-25C
What can I do?

[Q] BetterBatteryStats reports 'gpsd-interface' killing battery on Galaxy Player 5.0

Hi there,
I've had my Galaxy Player 5.0 for over a month now, and it's been exhibiting a weird battery drain problem. I have everything set up to drain as little battery as possible when the device is sleeping. I've got auto-sync off, Juice Defender Plus to automatically disable Wi-Fi... it's working beautifully most of the time. I can go for days without the battery draining at all when I'm not using it. But then it inevitably hits a point where I turn it on and lo, like half the battery charge is gone. I check BetterBatteryStats often to monitor this problem, and it usually shows about the same awake time as screen on time, which is what you'd expect. When the problem kicks in however, the device shows hours and hours of extra awake time.
Two new kernel wakelock entries appear at the top:
gpsd-interface
GPS
Those account for pretty much all the extra awake time. I can break these wakelocks by turning on the GPS, starting Google Maps, letting it read my location, closing Google Maps and finally turning off GPS again. I never use Google Maps or GPS the rest of the time, but these wakelocks keep coming back every few days. I've searched everywhere for any mention of "gpsd-interface" and I found nothing.
Any idea how I might be able to fix this?
Thanks, Nir

A couple of things you can do
1)Disable Google Now (it creates a huge amount of partial wakelocks on my phone at least, with the alarm counts going over 1100 over night!)
2)Check if Media Service provider is stuck and running all the time. If so, then wipe its data, along with gallery's and music player's and let it do a full complete scan.
If all of the above fail, then do a complete wipe
ps: I solved my battery drain by just disabling google now, but it doesn't seem normal at all.
i try to flash blh1 with odin and device dont boot on download is custom on bianry no system what to do?
Dunno. I'm on LI5 and got 50% after 15h. Data always on. About 30mins call. Random web browsing and emailing.
I'm quite satisfied with it.

RILJ multiple wakeup. Cyanogen 10.2

The elusive RILJ problem. When his occurred I did read up on it, its not the location settings as they're all turned off and maps isn't the culprit cause I don't even have it installed. Whenever I check BBS it says RILJ (phone) and it literally drains my battery at the rate of 1% every 2 minutes with the 15 minute bus journey to work resulting in over 300 wakeups. I would love to use cyanogen permanently but I can't until my battery works for longer than a few hours at a time

It's not related to your location settings but I think the issue is with your radio. Couple of things you can do. Try the fastdormancy app from the playstore and disable fast dormancy. Also try switching to Edge. That should help too. Overall some amount of RILJ wakelock will be there.
P.S If its cynogenmod then try disabling emergency broadcasts. Its either in the message settings or in the dialer app settings. I'm not sure if there is a correlation but it did work in my case.

[Screenshots]: Battery drain overnight. Need help identifying wakelocks.

It's a stock T-Mobile LG G5. I get around 2-2.5h SOT. Overnight it drops the battery by 8-11%. There are 34 screenshots in the ZIP file below, showing GSAM Battery monitor and BetterBatteryStats data. I've never used BetteryBatteryStats before so if someone could help me identify the culprit I'd greatly appreciate that.
The signal strength is excellent and the always-on display is disabled. The bluetooth and GPS are always enabled. I should mention that last week I put the phone in Airplane mode and the drain stopped, but obviously it's not a solution.
1.) why do you know, that the gsm signal is excellent? Because you can see 5 stripes in the notification bar? That is not real! I can see 5 stripes too, but this at 15 ASU.
But 100% signal is = 30 ASU! So this result can differ even you believe you can see 100 signal quality.
2.) my system is running on 20p. No BT and no Wlan (no NFC) with 8% for 24Std. (150 user apps installed)
3.) wifi and G-Mail polling sucks much battery power too! you should switch it of to compare! or is it real necessary to be on over the night???
4.) what’s about the google fitness app? this app needs power to check the sensors.
5.) Twitter; Google; G-Mail; Fotos are syncing many times! You can see together more then 800 wake ups!
no wonder that this together will suck your battery empty!
i would suggest you to switch off BT and W.Lan over the night! This should spend a lot of battery power too! Same for syncing and background data traffic.
Try to use 3C Battery Monitor app. there you can see the power consumption every 10 min in the night.
read this too! -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74381087&postcount=327
I have 55 ASUs, so the connection is not the problem. Last night it only drained by 1%. I had both Bluetooth and GPS enabled so I don't think they are the problem either. Twitter, Gmail also were enabled and they actually pulled and displayed some notifications, yet the drain was minimal.
What I think sometimes happens is Google app or Play Services goes crazy starts waking up the phone for no reason. Would you agree based on the screenshots? Or could it be some bug in the OS that does this?
