Today, as I was driving, something dawned on me. Is there an app that can control the volume of my music based on the speed my vehicle is going? When unwashed approaching stop lights, my music was too loud, so I had to turn it down. When I was driving, the wind made it hard to hear the music. So, my question is, is there an app that can do this being my car doesn't have this feature built into the stereo?

I just roll the windows down and listen to my engine
This would def be an app I would pay for!

Well after searching a lot today, I found this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.richardsween.gpsvolumefree
It does the job. I wish it was more fluid when switching the volume, but for those looking for the same thing as me, give this a try.
my truck does this automagically
Wouldn't it make more sense to raise the volume based off ambient noise rather than speed? My guess is it would use much less battery power too to monitor ambient noise via the two microphones rather than keep GPS continuously running...

My mother's Buick does too. That said, I can't stand it. I set my volume where I want it. Most modern cars have enough nose reduction/sealing that the air conditioner is the loudest source of noise pollution, if you ask me. But nobody really asked me, did they?

So, not that it's SUPER important. But I just got done dialing my system in my truck in. Put all the speakers in, sub, amps, head unit, etc etc. And I got a model with bluetooth. And I must say, it's legit. I can stream music via it from my phone, take calls and it'll mute the music so I can take the call. I recommend to anyone that drives and talks a lot to do this. It's not too much and it's very helpful and sounds decent too.
been doing that in my car for a couple years now... Love it. But for some reason my MoFo will drop the BT connection after playing music for about 20 mins. Well maybe drop the connection is the wrong thing to say, it is still connected, still get message notifications through the Headunit, but it stops streaming the music....
Are you using the stock music player?

Happens with Stock, Mixing, nemo, and Player Pro... Normally when it happens i have to reboot either my phone or the car to get it to play again...
Hm that's weird. I haven't hit any issues either.

My issues seem to only be in wife's car with a newer jvc unit. I have an older eclipse unit and it works decent but no audio interupts

Just put a jvc unit in my work car. Damn its sweet. Love being able to stream music without the aux cable.
Also mine has a bt remote so i cab skip tracks through Pandora or any of the other music apps without using the phone.
This and the unlimited Pandora apk is the best combo ever.

Jvc av794 i think. Works awesome. Names of songs pop up via bt through music app. Calls also work great. Car has a factory 9 speaker h/k otherwise
I also have an eclipse cd5030 and call quality sucks. But its been that way with all phones. I think the car is too loud and there is no echo cancellation sw.
Factory speakers otherwise. And a 10 inch sub.

Through the speaker on the phone or headphones?
PowerAmp I believe has an EQ you can use to boost some levels, for the most part, the max volume is going to be a limitation of the phone.

I thought the same thing until I saw how tiny this thing actually is.
It weighs absolutely nothing & is about the size of a matchbook.
Believe me, it is worth the little extra effort to use it & if you can't hear with this in place you would have to be completely deaf.

The headset (earset that comes with the phone has all controls. But I think it sucks royally as the earbuds are horrible, even for my somewhat larger than average ears. I'm kinda looking for alternative myself.
I took Apple ear buds and fitted ear plugs on them. They works great you can't hear a thing with them in....only the music.... Oh yea

I know on my old incredible, the buttons don't work completely. Only some functions, I think that goes to say with all androids. There are apps that you can assign a different amount of presses to be pause, play, next though.
I know bestbuy has a pair of sony earbuds that are life $25, that have the "ipod" controls. They did work somewhat on my incredible, and there are a pair of skullcandy's that have the controls also. I assume they would work the same.

I order these, they are the ones that came with my old vibrant, since I lose my earbuds at least once every two months I would never spend a lot on them. I'm happy with the quality, I doubt it is as bad as some people describe the stock headphones for the amaze-- but my theory is if they are using a rom with beats audio the headphones may not be capable of creating that kind of sound at higher volumes.
To the best of my knowledge no android(I've seen at least) has working volume control, tho I'll bet a few might.. I haven't tried any with volume control on my amaze.
I use poweramp music player, I press 1 time to pause/play, two times to skip, and then you can decide what you want three presses to do- I have it switch playlists. If someone calls I press once to answer, once to hang up, and if I was listening to music it comes back on.
I've never been totally sure, but I think the beats audio libs only work on the stock music app, so that might be why I don't have any complaints about audio quality(because I use poweramp)..
Anyways, thought I'd share in case it was helpful.
I myself am toying around with a few setups trying to decide which is best. Im finding ROMS play a big part in sound quality. So please post your ROM. I dont know if its cause we dont have kernel source or what, but i cant get the sound quality i had with my thunderbolt.
ROM - Ineffibillis Deus 1.0
Poweramp - like it, but crashes and freezes a lot, at least for me and cant figure out why. When it works i use rock preset, tone disabled, srs enabled, beats disabled. Id give sound quality and power an 8/10.
Google Music - not great alone.. But when combined with EQualizer app it can come close to poweramp. Im shying away from this because i dont want to get too used to it since we will be losing unlimited data.. Also, i hate having to be logged into webplayer at home with my gmail accessible.. :/ ill give this 7.5/10
So what are you guys running?

Then custom EQs on poweramp will make you cry.
Stock operating system, stock music player, beats audio, JVC Gumy buds or Klipsch s4 earbuds. Sounds awesome. Just listened to some Gorgoroth before bedtime last night!

After reading theses posts I tried Poweramp and yes it is very nice. Big improvement over the stock music player. My Rezound sounds much better now over the bluetooth in my car. Prier to Poweramp the stock player lacked Bass, Poweramp is able to over come that disability. Poweramp actually makes the Rezound a lot closer to the sound quality we had on the EVO3D and it didn't even come with Beats Audio.

It is a big improvement as a previous user posted. You can set EQs where you want, or use the built in presets. And if you want multiple EQs, you can create your own presets.

If you like it, go pro. I seriously can't stand Poweramp coming from my Droid Charge. I tried multiple versions, all of which crashed all the time. I had different ROMs, kernels, etc and Poweramp still crashed. Maybe its fixed now, maybe not.
I think Mortplayer, DSP Manager, and Neutron is where its at.
Oh, and by the way, you take a hit on sound quality in Poweramp with the EQ or tone controls active. It is just the way it is. I don't consider the Rezound sound in the same league as Galaxy S and family on Voodoo or the iPhone, but the Rezound could sound fine if tweaked. Neutron player should have enough tweaks to whip the Rezound sound into shape without a quality hit.
My $.02
I've been using PowerAmp Pro for about 1.5-2 years and never had a problem with it. The Beats headphones kinda suck with metal though since there's too much bass.

Sound quality hit. I A/B'ed with and without EQ by listening to music and toggling it on and off with the EQ set to flat. It likely has more benefit than harm if you really need to EQ though.
Neutron player is where it is at, IMO.
Its this phone... Just has terrible output. Im seriously thinking of reconnecting my tbolt. You think its has anything to do with no kernel source? How could the tbolt be better?

Its actually not headphones. I use the beats that came with my Rezound. Its only with speakers it seems like
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
Sounds like it only seems to happen on low impedance speakers/inputs. You might just need to stick with headphones or use some kind of external pre-amp. This is somewhat disappointing news, although I don't listen to music from my phone much.
Noticed crackling and static when on 4G streams of Pandora. Happens with headphones or hooked up to a mixer and speakers (higher impedance). Doesn't happen with the WiFi enabled for streaming, so I'm going to say Argumentation's explanation seems spot on... Just thinking out loud here, but would there be a way to slow down to 3G speeds for streaming? Sounds counter-intuitive as far as speed is concerned, but if it's the 4G that's causing interference, then maybe that will take care of it?
