[Q] Hello XDA developers! And I need help. :)

Hello fellow members of XDA developers';
I am Kaan from Turkey. I'm working as a software development expert in a Turkish company we are mainly using PHP, Java and C# for development. I've been following XDA developers forums for a while and I have to say there are many talented people around here and I need your help now!
I own a Samsung Galaxy Nexus and a ZTE Web Tab (a.k.a Vodafone Smart Tab). The ICS os working perfectly on my Galaxy Nexus and my tablet has Gingerbread installed on it (and with lots of GSM operator apps I don't want ). I want to ROOT and then update my tablet to ICS but I have near to no knowledge about these devices. I've successfully managed to flash my Nokia 5800XM with Nokia C5 OS and I have a little bit experience about how it's actually done. Combined with my software development knowledge I've never bricked a device yet.
So I'm asking, is it possible to Root and then install ICS on my ZTE Web Tab? If it is, how?
I'm not 100% sure how to root it but to remove the carrier branded apps you have to use root explorer to remove them from /system/app

Allwinner H3 MXQ Pro 4K : A change to the display resolution does not survive the reboot

Hi,
hoping this is the right place for posting this question...
I'm working building my own custom ROM starting from an Allwinner Android/Linux source code.
Build and .img flashing/starting-up are OK.
Platform is :
TV Box : Allwinner H3 MXQ Pro 4K 1GB RAM / 4GB ROM
Android : 7.0
Kernel : 4.4.55
Problem:
A change to the display resolution (for example from 720p_50Hz to 1080p_24Hz)
does not survive the reboot.
I have other "untouched" Allwinner H3 TV Box's with same HW (e.g an Andowl)
and same pre-installed (by the manufacturer) Android/Kernel versions, where the resolution change survives the reboot.
As probably you know , Allwinner U-Boot 2014.07 reads
(in \lichee\brandy\u-boot-2014.07\board\sunxi\common\bootGUI\dev_manage.c)
the display format from Reserve0 partition (Reserve0/disp_rsl.fex (eg 0x408))
and passes it to kernel for display system initialization.
Here a short UART log from a working TV BOX
-------------------------------------------------------------------
U-Boot 2014.07 (Aug 28 2020 - 08:44:29) Allwinner Technology
.............
get format[408] for type[4]
get format[20b] for type[2]
.............
save_int_to_kernel disp.boot_disp(0x408) code:<no error>
save_int_to_kernel disp.init_disp(0x20b0000) code:<no error>
-------------------------------------------------------------------
For some reason, in my case, nobody (Android or Kernel) updates Reserve0/disp_rsl.fex
with latest format when changing the resolution from GUI, so U-Boot always sets the default resolution
taken from sys_config.fex.
I tried to debug the issue without success,
Any help on this?
Tnx

Tablet RCA last Viking 10 Pro RCT6303W87DK

Hi
I know it's a little too late, but I need to update my Android to RCA Viking 10 Pro RCT6303W87DK.
in the past I have already done it once to Android 5.0 V32-V1.9.1 (kernel version 3.10.54), but this is not enough now for my tablet to work properly.
It will be a lot for me if someone helps me get all the files I need for this.
I want to root it to the last possible android version for Viking 10 Pro RCT6303W87DK.
Ps.
The explanation of the order I had fallow will also be good.
I know I'm asking for something that's not new, but certain circumstances have made me just a chance to do it.
Thank you in advance for any help !!!!
Sorry for my English but this is not my native language.

Probably, you've already looked at these discussions:
RISOLTO: Android OS can I update past 5.0 - RCA 10 Viking Pro RCT6303W87DK
Hi, Commiserations but the answer is no, it cannot be further updated. While Android OS v9.0 (Pie - Aug 2018) is the latest Android OS, this doesn’t mean that your tablet has the system requirements necessary for it to be able to function correctly with this version. This link may be of...

Are there Android OS Updates - RCA 10 Viking Pro RCT6303W87DK
Is it possible to update the Android 5.0 OS that is currently on this tablet to a newer Android OS? The tablet has not offered an OS update on its own and when I check it says it has the latest version Android 5.0 , however Oreo 8 is the most recent Android OS at this writing. Is there a way...

Btw, if you just want to upgrade android verson (and not just simple rooting the tablet), as explained in the comments, it's possible but, since RCA has not released a new firmware version, you can't. Also, you can try to root the device if you want.
