Huawei 8562 fast boot/clockwork mod. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I haven't visited XDA since my WinMo days since I use an Apple phone now but someone gave me this Huawei Fusion and I'm trying to get a custom ROM installed but cannot get ClockworkMod to install. The device has been rooted and I followed a thread over on Android Forums but I am coming up empty.
It says to enter fast boot you hold down power, volume down, and end call. Call me stupid but which key is the end call key? When I hold power and volume down the device is stuck on the AT&T logo. When connected to USB the ClockworkMod program just sits at "waiting for device" Am I doing something wrong? Is there a specific version of the mod for this device? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum (didn't see a device specific forum for the 8562).

CWM recovery boot sequence/menu navigation issue

Hello
I rooted my Galaxy s2 i777 using 2.3.6 (I think that was it - what ATT pushed out earlier in the summer) and next flashed CWM using ODIN. I noticed that the menus weren't working in CWM. When I use the home or menu buttons it just toggles a logo screen, and power does nothing (volume keys do work). I noticed others had this issue with this phone but didn't encounter any solutions.
Poking around the Rom Manager application I noticed a reboot into recovery mode feature and thought I'd try it. It did as advertised. But now when I reboot by holding down power it immediately reboots into recovery mode. I'm guessing what happens is the "reboot into recovery mode" feature put itself at the head of the boot sequence and instead of removing itself from there on load, which it probably should, it waits until the user exits the program cleanly. Unfortunately, because I can't get the keys to work in the program, the only way I can exit is to hold down power. I can navigate to the "power off" or "reboot" options but I can't execute them (press "enter"). So it stays at the head of the boot sequence (just my theory) and I can't get out. Actually when I power off by holding down the power key the phone just reboots immediately, right back into cwm recovery, so there seems to be something more going on.
I have a backup of the system but I can't figure out how to get out of the sequence. I tried the download mode and recovery mode key sequences but they don't work (not even sure if they're supposed to work in this recovery screen). Any ideas? I have a backup of the system, so I'm happy to attempt scorched earth suggestions. Kies can't recognize the phone anymore. Many thanks.

1. you obviously flashed a kernel WITH CWM via Odin.
2. Rom Manager should not be used.
Flash a rooted stock ROM via ODIN.
read around in the stickies of the i777 forum, and get acquainted with things.
Boot into CWM correctly, and go about flashing whatever you want knowing what you just learned by reading the correct stuff.
Welp, first things first.
1. Read, search, Google, only look at results from this forum, i.e. the ATT Galaxy S2 I777 forums on XDA. Any info from any other sites is more likely to get you nowhere or brick your phone further.
2. After having done so, you'll learn never to use Rom Manager. EVER.
3. Also after having done #1, you'll learn to never try to flash CWM separately. As Moto implies, CWM for our phones is built into custom kernels, it is not separate.
4. Follow this guide to start over and get back to stock.
5. Then follow this guide to root and flash custom ROMs and kernels.
You sound like an intelligent guy, so as long as you do more reading around here you'll figure everything out slowly. Make sure to read stuff multiple times until you fully understand everything, and feel free to ask questions about stuff you don't understand, but only after reading said guides multiple times.
EDIT: Gah Moto, why you gotta post ahead of me D:
Actually the problem is most likely the fact that he is probably using an old version of cwm where the home button selects stuff. And rom manager.

Thanks, that did it. I'd actually read the stickies, I just didn't think I could get into download mode because the phone was stuck in that auto-reboot loop.
For anyone else stuck in that loop cwm recovery loop, the download mode entry method (press both volume keys and insert usb) needs to be timed just so, since you usually perform the sequence when the phone is powered down (in stable way) but in this situation you only have a moment before it restarts. After powering down, just as it restarts automatically you can see the capacitative buttons blink for an instant, and that's when I started the sequence. Took me about half a dozen times but I eventually caught it. Am I the only one struggling with how hard these captchas are getting over the years? there's probably a sticky for that too I guess nvm.
If I'm not mistaken you can get into download mode without having a battery plugged in, so no need for trying to time it. Just hold volume buttons and plug in USB. For future reference; glad you got it worked out. Make sure to read the second guide thoroughly so you know how to safely flash stuff, and hit my thanks button if i helped you out.

[Q] HELP!!! Htc Amaze 4G model PH85110 stucked at the HTC logo :(

This happened this moring for no apparent reason, i moved a file for a game to be installed (final fantasy iv) in the android/oob folder and rebooted, and it never fully did.
Im stuck on the HTC logo forever.
At 1st i said to myself, lets go to hboot and make a factory reset, so i pressed volume - and power, and when i did, instead of restoring the device (wich was unlocked and rooted) it went back to the neverending htc logo, and it does the same for the recovery and the erase everything one, so from that point i tried installing a few firmwares from my carrier which is videotron, and it alway failed either because the signature is not compatible or simply because the device is not detected... it seems to get worst try by try...
I also tried to install from the sd card, adb or Amaze_All-In-One_Kit_V5.1 and 4.0.
Nothing works, please help me.
I just bought this phone used a month ago, and i loved it, and its unfair for it to die for no serious reason.

If it went to the HTC logo, you probably accidentally bypassed the recovery.
Turn the phone off, remove battery wait 10 seconds, install battery, wait 10 seconds, hold the volume DOWN button, while holding the volume DOWN button, press and release the power button. Keep holding the volume DOWN button until the bootloader screen appears, and then release it.
See what you can do with that.
If it doesn't help, find the RUU for your carrier--there's a list of RUU's in General section, "They're all here now" thread, and find the instructions for properly renaming it and placing it where it needs to go to have it install.

[Q] HTC desire 816 stuck on development purposes message after flashing recovery

I was part way through attempt to cynogenmod my HTC desire 816. Using the guide on the cynogenmod wiki (can't post links yet because i'm new).
I had just finished flashing the recovery using fastboot and powered down the device, once the phone was off the charging screen came on with "the is build is for development purposes only...." message but I am STUCK here. I can't power up the device or power into recovery mode (held power + volume down for like 3 minutes).

I too had the same exact problem! I had just finished loading CWM 6.0.5.1, turned off the phone then put it to charge and WHAM! A battery icon that was not flashing while it was being charged and the dreaded "this build is for development purposes only." After hours upon hours of reading/researching...I read an article and tried something radical! Instead of just pushing the power and the volume down buttons, I did all three buttons! And Damn if it didn't work! Just hold down both volume buttons then press the power while still holding them down and viola! It worked for me! Hope this helps you and all others that get caught out there with this one!

[Q] LG Access LTE (L31L) Stuck on boot screen and wont go into recovery mode

Hey guys im new to this thread and a website said to see if you guys could help me. Well basically I tried to make my music louder on my android and it didnt like that. Now it wont boot or go into recovery and to make things worse, i made it go into charge only mode a long time ago. Since i cant open it or view files since its on charge only mode. I think im screwed. Is there any way i can fix this? Thanks a lot for anything. I tried to hard reset and all of that but it goes into a black screen then just goes back to the LG loading screen. It basically just loops itself everytime i try to enter recovery. It gets stuck on the tracfone page. This is a straight talk phone. Its the LG Access LTE L31L. Ive looked everywhere and havent found anything that works and thought that you guys would hopefully help me. Is it just a paperweight or is it fixable? Thanks!
In the computer the phone isent reconized as anything??
I found one in a car I just bought, has the lock for PIN enabled and cannot enter phone.
Tried all the reset options found on web, nothing brings me to recovery, searched the forums here for this model phone, nothing found.
Tried Volume Down + Power, released Power when LG logo appeared for 3 seconds then pressed and held, it would reboot sometime long sometimes short, but would not enter recovery, tried both volumes up and down, volume down and home button, every combination I could find...
I had a SIM card for a tracfone that was active and wanted to see if this phone would accept it...
Any other tricks available? Computer dings that it sees the phone, but since I cannot get past PIN screen I cannot choose what function USB should be and nothing is seen in Windows Explorer.
Any LG master files to force open the phone through the PC when locked like this or ???
Sorry to hijack or open an older thread, but not much action here for this model phone...

Jiayu G4 (God I hate to title it like this, but yes) stuck in bootloop

How the problem occurred
So a year or two ago I bought a Jiayu G4A/T/Whatever they're calling it and safely got it here. I've used the stock ROM for a bit but I wanted to get rid of the bloatware that was still on it, so I eventually ended up with a properly rooted phone with a ROM from Jiayu.es (Everything worked, have ClockworkMod as recovery, accessible via Mobileuncle Tools), which was essentially a stock Kitkat rom made to work for the phone. Now I got sick of the ROM and recently saw the new EMUI version on Huawei's P8 Lite, so I figured I'd look around for a tailored ROM running that, and ended up at "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" from Needrom.
What I did
1. I downloaded a ROM from Needrom with identifier "jiayu-emui-3-0-stable" (I can't post external links)
2. Backed up my important files following a guide from androidcentral titled "[Guide] How to Backup and Restore Apps and Data when installing new ROMs" that I can't link, and did a full backup using CWM
3. Placed the ZIP on my internal SD card, went into recovery, wiped data/cache (not dalvik, since it wasn't described in the instructions, I think this might be a probable cause) and installed the new ROM from ZIP
4. Rebooted the phone and now it's stuck in the boot loop I mentioned.
What the problem is
Bootloops aren't that much of a problem usually, except this one is... I can't get into recovery mode. From there on it'd be cake, since I made the right preparations, but I can't get into it. While connected to my PC it keeps powering on, showing a splash screen from Jiayu.es briefly (which shouldn't be present anymore) and powering off after 10 seconds, only to come back to the splash screen.
What I've tried
I've unplugged it, removed the battery, waited to get a full power cycle and tried to hold my buttons in these combinations: [power button + volume up], [power button + volume down] - but neither work. It just keeps going with the boot loop. I can succesfully power it down, and when I plug it in from there it shows the low battery image. At the moment of seeing that I thought I could connect to it using ADB / Fastboot, but no luck there either. It keeps saying no devices found, and with fastboot it keeps on <waiting for device>.
My questions
What exactly can I do if there is no way for me to get into recovery mode? Are there any alternatives? How can I get my device to be recognized by ADB? Is that even possible? Why is this bootloop any different from others?
Update from the massive Q&A thread:

Is it booting up on its own too after being off? This happened to wifes phone and it turned out the power button was stuck. I took a pencil and hit the power button with the eraser a few times and it worked then. Her case mustve dislogded it. I will keep my fingers crossed for u. If not send me a private message and i will look for an answer tomorrow and get back with u

Thank you for the reply!
Yes, it does. I took the battery out and let it lay disassembled for a night, after which I cleaned it a little and re-inserted the battery. With the case back on, nothing happened, so the power button wasn't stuck for sure. When I powered it back on with the power button (no USB attached) it showed the emblem for ~8 seconds and powered off. It then buzzes to show it's powered on again and up comes the splash screen again. Could it be that the ROM was just a rebooting falsehood? Why would it disallow me getting into recovery mode? I really hope there is something that can still force the device into recovery mode / interact with it somehow while in this state.
Oh, I also tried to see if the volume down button was broken but all the contacts seem intact, plus, they worked an hour before I started switching roms.
