Hello guys!
I want to ask something.
I have just rooted my sgsII with a CF-Root 5.5
and i have installed through cwmr, a custom rom.
Everything is fine!
I have a question..
I want to change the csc that custom rom have (NEELP4)
with the OXXLPH (i have download the csc file).
So, can you tell me how?
Thanks in advance!
Using Odin.
Put the phone in download mode
Put the csc in csc and flash. Remember it might wipe the phone.
I tried that once, but then the phone stack at boot screen..
If this is the correct method, i will try again.
(i checked only the csc box at odin).
Any other suggestions before i give a 2nd chance with ODIN..?
Why dont you flash a custom ROM like mine.It has a muti CSC pack including the CSC for Greece because the Dev is greek. It would be a lot easier and less risky.Click on the link below that says ICS
Thanks for your advice.
I want to try for some days the rom i have now..
Any other suggestions?
Is the correct procedure to flash only the csc with ODIN?
Yeah mate just put it CSC dont select anything else and then hit the start button.Could wipe some data you have on your phone and some say that you should do a factory reset after the phone boots so if you have Titanium then backup your apps.

Hello,
I want to verify how I reset my unbranded and Sim unlocked SGSII with MIUI installed to StockRom?
I have a USB Jig in place and Odin v1.85 downloaded.
I also downloaded the folloing DBT files (live in Germany):
APBOOT_I9100XWKI4_CL575468_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CODE_I9100XWKI4_CL575468_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
GT-I9100-csc-DBTKH1.tar.md5
MODEM_I9100XXKI1_REV_02_CL1058311.tar.md5
I want to install latest StockRom, Bootloader (newest is OK) and having everything repartitioned.
I read about backing up a "EFS" folder is this correct? Why?
Do I have the latest DBT files and Rom?
Can anyone give me a short instruction HowTo plz?
the new boot loader stop usb dingle from working
That's OK for me... I dont care..
just need steps for setting and deleting/wiping/reformatting (incl. internal SD) back to as it was a new phone...
Avoid repartition in odin at all costs it will do bad things.

Please have a look at Intratech's Official Firmware thread here => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
The first post is relevant.
You can use one of Intratech's ROMs to flash with Odin, or you check and download the latest officially released version for your (BTW it is my too) region by using Check Fus Downloader from here => http://fus.nanzen.se/
(This should be XWKI4 and will be downloaded from Samsung servers.)
As you want to do a factory reset with full-wipe and repartition, it does not matter which version of stock ROM you use.
Just put the ROM file(s) into the corresponding section of Odin, activate the options you want to use and flash the ROM.
(If you tick repartition, you will need the pit file too.)
After flashing you should go to recovery mode (Volume UP + Home + Power) and do the factory reset and wipe cache partition.
Alternatively you can do a hard reset by dialing *2767*3855# after flashing and rebooting your phone. That will wipe everything as well.
Good luck !
Thanks for your great help!
So it's better not to do the repartition?
I don't have the pit file anyway but just the above mentioned files separately.
I don't really know where my phone comes from as I ordered it from the first released ones so they may have been imported to Germany.
Anyway it was not branded or Sim locked.
Will flash with Odin the above mentioned files and then go to recovery and do a factory wipe.
Cross your fingers...

Get Odin from here & your original firmware from here & flash that.

also do u know why it doesnt read any of the zip roms on my sdcard?
No, it won't make a massive amount of difference if you flash firmware for another country. What country are you in/what telco do you use ?
No. No idea why CW Recovery can't read any of the roms on your SD card. Sounds like CW Recovery might be broken.
well im from australia with Vodaphone
well i could run the zips just fine before i flashed my phone but after i flashed it, it cant read anyfiles i even tried another sd card same result
I'm with Vodafone as well. Download/flash KJ1.
As I said, something obviously isn't working if it can see any files on the SD card. Flash the stock firmware & we'll go from there.
thankyou, im in the progress of flashing with odin and i put that big file into PDA but were do i put that 5mb kernal in odin? or do i not neet it

Kernal is part of PDA file does not require a separate kernel flash .
jje
um what does that mean, do i ignore it when flashing with odin, i just put the big 500mb file in the PDA section and pressed start i didnt use the 5 mb files
god it didnt work i flashed it with GT-I9100T_VAU_I9100TDUKJ1_I9100TVAUKJ1_I9100TDUKJ1.TAR.md5
and it stuck at the loading S screen then goes to the vodafone screen back and forth??
are you sure your backups are not just on your internal sd and not external?
i managed to install it, but now i cant root, i folowed the rooting guide exactly and succefully flashed the kernal with odin but it says i havent rooted yet
good morgning guys ,
i bought a S3 some days after lunch from my O2 provider.
one bad thing is, O2 uses a branded firmware.
i searched xda for threats with original firmwares, but i can´t find my version.
I want to use a custom firmware or try some one.
but i feel bedder, if i have my original version as backup.
that means all three files, csc, phone and pda.
at the moment i think about some roms like:
- CM9
- CM10
- Lite'ning ROM v1.0 - Fast as Lightning
So, i think the best kernel will be SiyahKernel S3 v1.5.1.
one solution will be to backup with titanum backup. i bought the licence, but this requires a rooted kernel, i don´t flashed yet.
I thougth about, but i want ti do it first, i have all 3 files at home.
can anyone help me?
greetz,

use this program to download your stock firmware.
root your phone with cf-root, flash cm9/10. test it out.
when you wanna go back to stock, use triangle away, wipe everything in CWM and flash your stock firmware back with odin.
If you get messaging app errors on boot (usually happens when you go back to stock from cm) you will need to flash your CSC in the corresponding section in Odin and wipe in stock recovery.

hi, I'm a pretty much a noob when it comes to ROMs, but I'm trying.
I noticed that when I flash a new ROM (always via PC Odin, after I screwed up once), sometimes my settings, apps and their order remain as they were, and sometimes the phone is wiped clean and I have to download them over again or they download automatically, and I just need to adjust the settings and the order of the apps.
how can I predict which one of these situations will happen when I install a new ROM?
is it determined by the CSC? or unrelated?
I'll explain my goal:
my sgs2 is with branded ROM (LS4), and I want to flash unbranded ROM (e.g. XWLSD), but I don't want to lose my apps and settings.
I can't create a titanium backup without rooting, and I don't know how to install CWM in order to create a backup without installing another kernel (which may not suit my rom).
so:
1. can I flash only the ROM itself, maintaining my own modem and CSC? even if it means flashing the ROM, and in the same ODIN flash- reflashing my old modem and CSC [PDA, PHONE, CSC]?
2. is it even possible to extract a CSC flashing file from a ROM?
3. will it help?
Thanks!

If you wanna keep your settings and apps you're gonna have to wait/flash an OTA (Over the Air) update.
You can check the live feed here.
Whenever you flash any ROM with a new CSC your device will be wipe (apps & settings).
You could flash only the OS, but I don't think it'll work. When a new ROM comes along, is meant to be flashed with the whole phone, code and CSC package.
Flashing isn't that hard, I get that you had problems before and you don't want anything to do with Odin, but hey, to root you're device you only have to flash siyah v5 from gokhanmoral.com.
You can also flash CWM + SU + Busybox via recovery or try ExynosAbuse (one click root by chainfire).
To overcome your flashing fears, you can always flash any stock ROM with Mobile Odin (Root needed).
thanks
going to root and install CWM manually, and afterwards, checking out the dsixda rom kitchen to see if I can make a stable version of what I like (my CSC and modem, and the rest of the rom from XWLSD or any other popular ROM)
still on stocks for now, though...
I'll leave the custom ROM games for my kindle fire, which is useless to me in stock rom.
I'll report back.
Thanks!
POST EDIT:
rooted through the stock recovery (signed the app using "signing tools", and flashed an ext. sd update)
now I can make a proper backup and start getting messy.
uploaded what I flahsed if anyone ever finds this question interesting. taken from another thread, and updated to SU 1.25... not my own.
intend to try the same with CWM.
Good luck
Re: [Q] flashing ROM, w/o flashing CSC?
Updates:
Still couldn't flash cwm without a custom kernel. Gonna do some more research on that..
As to ROM & CSC, I did the following:
Before everything -backup!
1. Opened the 2 roms (the branded with the modem & CSC I wanted, and the unbranded with the ROM I wanted) via dsixda kitchen in cygwin.
2. With both of them open in cygwin, I put the modem.bin file and the csc files (that are found inside cache.img and in hidden.img) instead of those same files in the ROM I want
3. I repacked the ROM & flashed the ROM I want with the csc and modem from my old ROM via cwm recovery. No wipes, apps, settings and order remained unchanged.
I assume u can do the same without using dsixda, just by switching the hidden & cache images inside the .tar files. The advantages of doing it this way are:
1. Removing the vendor's apps from the csc
2. De-odexing
3. Pre-rooting
4. Adding cwm using recovery.img from my backup.
5. I tried it & it worked
Disadvantages:
Takes more time
Makes you install the dsixda kitchen, and it's a bit complicated process, but hey - if I managed to do it....
Hope I help anyone
Hello guys
Unfortunalely i managed to soft brick my s9 Plus.
I changed the CSC when it was working but don't remember to what.
I can boot into download mode however when i try to reflash via odin it says Fail.
I am guessing its because of the incorrect CSC file i am using
Does anyone know how to find CSC of a softbricked phone.
Attached is the screenshot from download mode. Hope it helps.

If you flashed another CSC with Odin, you may have to do a fatory reset / wipe data in recovery mode.
That is why I always use the "Home_CSC" file as CSC in Odin - to prevent this wiping.
For stock firmware files, I am using Frija: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/tool-frija-samsung-firmware-downloader-checker.3910594/
