Automatic location change in widget AND lockscreen -solved- - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can u force a location change on thus thing? Although I have refreshed the weather it still shows a weather of a different city I was many hours ago.

EDIT: before you go down and read the last page, as 99% of the posts are irrelevant, what i had to do in the interim for both of these is this:
1) go to the search cities through the widget and re-add the current location screen which immediately found my location
2) once this was done, the lockscreen was still stuck on the previous location, and this was solved by a restart.
Unfortunately forcing an update on the weather, did not change the location. Turning on the GPS did not either. Therefore im not sure if the update frequency changes this would allow for more accurate location service, or its a small bug that samsung needs to look into.

Weather update

Sorry, another noobie question and I have tried searching but "weather update" didn't come up with meaningful threads. The weather on my Hero doesn't seem to update automatically unless I open the app itself ie the full screen widget and the one on the clock won't update. If I go into the app it starts to update. Is this normal, a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
it's a known issue; try adding your home town as a known location in the app, and then it should appear, and update, on the widget.

[Q] weather shows wrong location - SOLVED

I know there are loads of threads concerning this issue, but I didn'find the solution in one of them.
The weather-widget on the hometab of my HD2 shows the wrong location. It shows the location in the settings-time/date tab, not the location that is acquired through the network. When entering the weathertab also the location in the settings-time/date tab is shown, and the correct location (with the correct weather) is one swipe down. So the location service seems to work properly, the weather is also updated fine, I only need to get the weather-widget to display the right location instead of the location in the settings-time/date tab.
I'm getting pretty annoyed by this bug, can someone help me out?
Okay, I feel a little stupid now.
I tapped the sun/moon on the homscreen to find the solution in the weather-widget. You can add, delete and organize locations there, but you can't set the location to be displayed. By tapping the clock instead of the sun/moon, you can set the locationto be displayed on the homescreen.
Problem solved!

Accuweather Erratic Behavior

How do I get the Weather widget to update the current location, it manually lists it, but not update the location with the weather
Don't understand, but if you want to enable the Auto Refresh feature then you can do it under Settings, You can also Enable your current location by ticking it, and also if you have more than one city added then you could Enable Auto Scrolling feature which will show all the cities in a cyclic order on the widget in an interval of 8-9 seconds.
Regards.

sorry if post was confusing, on my older HTC phones, whenever it updated the weather, it diplayed my Current location as per GPS, this one only keeps displaying home location.
No takers?

[Q] Weather/clock widget will not update current location

Anyone having the home screen weather/clock widget not update your current location? and yes it is set to use current location in the settings. Is there anyway to clear the widget data?
I posted about the same issue some days ago.
Finally I got it fixed. I had noticed that each time I went to the clock app and open the desktop clock tab, it updated the current location. So I looked around and found that it was possible to have the weather on the lockscreen, what I did. I also went to settings>applications management>all and force weather main to stop.
I don't know which stage has been efficient but now my location is correctly updated each hour. I think it's worth a try.

I know it's an old thread, but I had the same problem and it got me on the right track. You need to have WiFi location enabled if you're connected to WiFi.

cLock fails to update weather

I have CyanogenMods cLock widget on my home screen and for the last couple days, the weather fails to update. I can use Yahoo weather with it or Openweathermap with it when I place the widget. Nothing changes. I have it so it refreshes every 30 minutes but it never does and I'm unable to refresh it manually as it never refreshes.
Has anyone experienced this before and has a fix for it? I know I can use another weather widget from the play store but I'd rather use cLock.
I'm on CM12.1
Thanks!
When I am on CM 12.1, my CM clock also fail to update weather and location in widget.
But after keeping location ON, it solved. Then it displayed proper weather with respect to location.
For better weather report, location should be on High accuracy mode.

Yeah that'll probably help. I always keep my location set to Battery Saving. I've always had it on Battery Saving since I've been using CyanogenMod with no issues til now. Its always updated til it started messing up a couple days ago. Weird.
I'll keep location set to High Accuracy for awhile, see if it helps.
