When I try to use my gallery apps to "load" a certain image, for example loading an image to send though Whatsapp or Kakaotalk, after tapping on the image it just returns back to the main chat without any indication that I even selected an image, or it keeps looping back to the gallery. This thing stays the same for any activity I'm doing where I am selecting an image to upload/send. Once in a while I will get to a "preview" of what i want to send, but when i confirm nothing happens. A weird thing I noticed is that when I reboot my phone, I will be able to do all these for about 3 minutes, then the problem starts. Any suggestions?
I'm running X10 with MIUI-1.12.23 OODIE |pRIMe|.
Try delete the ".thumbnails" folder in DCIM/ & the "LazyList" in root of sdcard.. If pics still not showing delete the "com.cooliris.media" folder in /Android/data, it worked for me.
Thanks! that worked!

EDIT: Never mind, I will just reflash through ODIN.
Hello. Looked for an answer everywhere, but nothing helpful comes up in the search results (both Google and XDA).
My problem is this: when the phone boots up, it hangs at the lockscreen, the screen turns completely white a minute later, and then shows the lockscreen again as if it did a warm reboot. The process then repeats. I can connect through ADB, and it appears that the shell is working correctly.
The problem first appeared when I experimented with NTFS mounter apps on Play Store. After one of the reboots, the phone suddenly informed my in a popup ("toast") window that /mnt/sdcard/external_sd was missing. I connected through ADB and checked - the whole /mnt directory was missing. I re-created it and made a folder called sdcard inside, then rebooted. Android populated /mnt with its own folders, eg. asec, obb and so on, but the problem was still present - the phone is still the way it was.
It appears that while GUI hangs, the ADB access is still working correctly. Recovery is working correctly and detects both internal and external SD.
Can anybody help me please? I don't know what to do, I never had this problem before.
My PDA is XWLPY, model is GT-I9100.
If you are rooted try reflash if not I would try download and reflash stock ROM with ODIN?

I will do that tomorrow. I'll try downgrading to XWLPI to get rid of the brickbug as well. Does anybody know if that could be unsafe?
My phone was restarting at the logo. Software was corrupted.
I downloaded the Stock Rom from XDA developers, and followed every thread that could help me install fresh rom.
First problem I faced that flashing failed at FDL2.
Then somewhere on the forum I read that unchecking the calibration option in the download tool would help. I unchecked the calibration option, and lo! it flashed.
So, new software was installed. I was happy but that happiness didn't last long.
I noticed that the new software had some problems.
1. Dialer crashed as I tried calling or someone called me. As a result, I was unable to pick a call or make a call.
2. Bluetooth was successful in pairing with any device, but it refuses to receive or send any file. When I tried to send any file, there was no option of bluetooth in sharing. And when tried to receive any file from other device, there was no movement in my phone, while the phone showed the request rejected.
3. Camera clicked photos fine, but there was no preview on the screen. That is, when I opened the camera, it showed every camera option but the screen was black, there was no image of the person standing behind it. And when I clicked the shoot button, the image shot fine.
4. Internet connects, but only the sending arrow blinked; there was no receiving. Therefore, no site opened.
5. SD card, when inserted, mounted with no problem, but I was unable to delete or copy any file from it. I could only read files from it, i.e. installing software, etc.
6. Videos when played, only sound emerged, no video, even after installing MX player.
7. There was no calender in the menu, while I checked the system.img (with the help of Greenleaf_Yaffs-IMG_Manager on pc) that it was included in the system apps, but not installed while flashing.
8. IMEI numbers were changed. Bluetooth and wireless address were changed. Also, I noticed that bluetooth share app was not installed while flashing, though it was included in the stock rom.
Of all the eight problems listed above I could only rectify the crashing dialer problem and IMEI problem.
Using VRoot, I rooted my phone and using system_app_installer I replaced the dialer from the original stock dialer that I backed up earlier. I tried to install bluetooth share, but it only showed successful installation, but it did not appear in the list of system apps. I installed it several times, but each time it installed as if a fresh app, there was no prompt for a replace, and there was no result. Similar was the case with the calender app.
I rectified the IMEI using WRITE IMEI_R1.5.3001. The IMEI were written in the back of the phone so I could write the original IMEIs but I didn't have any idea of bluetooth and wireless address.
But I couldn't find any solution to the other problems for the past 1 month. I searched all over the net, but no avail.
Now, I think this all problem has its root when I unchecked the calibration option in the download tool. If this is the case, what should I do?
Please guide, friends. Desperately need your suggestions.
Thank you.
So about 4 days ago my S3, on which i installed 4.4.4 kitkat last summer, started rebooting, then the home app crashes a couple of times, i see a lot of crash popups which are either for the home app or androind system, then it reboots again, and usually after some reboots it works normally until i go into an app, then if i press the home button the home app would crash again and it would beigin rebooting(though once every app was crashing left and right). Yesterday however it didn't even make it to the home app part, it was stuck in the screen with the CM logo loading(bootloop?).
My question is if it's possible to fix it while also recovering all the data such as photos, music and app data. I have Clockworkmod recovery 6.0.4.6. So far i've tried pulling everything from adb, which either didn't work or worked but pulled folders and files i don't really need(tried pulling /storage/, all i got was an almost empty sdcard1 folder). I also tried this method [i can't post the link, google How to Recover data Using ADB recovery on Android techglen] but when i get to this line
mkdir emmc
my console gives me
~ # mkdir emmc
mkdir: can't create directory 'emmc': File exists
Try flashing twrp and mounting the data partition from twrp.
Yes, thanks, that worked and i was able to get most of the data i wanted, though not all, and did a factory reset. I also did a backup on an USB but when i tried to recover the data from there the progress bar was stuck at 0%.
My phone managed to boot normally, started downloading apps and then i got the android system crash again, along with the home app(trebutchet). So far it hasn't restarted by itself. I can still go to the app store and launch some of the apps from there. I managed to get 3 of the android system crash logs on pastebin: (again i can't post links) pastebin dot com /axBsYXfV, /6e3AiEyB /nwHxym9Y; should i make a new thread about this altogether?
Edit:Another crash log from when i tried to enter Apps from settings: tRbUX5h1
So crashes happen with stock and custom ROMs?
Update finally forced itself onto my phone, a new (December) S9, and it seems to have broken the built-inscreencap app and the built built-in gallery app.
Screencap will take the image, but won't alow scroll down or crop, then makes the snap sound and hangs on the image, forcing using the back button to get rid of it.
Then one cannot find the captured images.
Open the gallery app, the screencap folder is gone, and scrolling thru the items listed crashes the app, just closes. Once I find the screencap folder, attempting to enter it crashes the app again
Using a file explorer (the built-in one and ASTRO file manager) one can find the screen cap folder, under DCIM, but the previews aren't there, just a folder image; and, the Samsung file explorer crashes upon entering the folder or trying to view an image.
Has anyone else had these issues or others related to the latest update
I'll update this with any other weirdness I find.
UPDATE: cut and paste of text fails, cannot pull up the clipboard to paste text.
UPDATE 2: It seems to be related to OneUI 2.0, because it seems everything has changed, and not for the better.
UPDATE 3: tried clearing system cache and Gallery cache, no love there. Galley still shows nothing in the various folders, and crashes every time I try to enter the folders.
Mods, please feel free to move this to the appropriate forum.

Sounds like you lost the encryption key
You'll have to factory reset in stock recovery to restore it and you'll loose everything on the phone storage

Bloody hell.
Is there a way to prevent these automatic updates from happening?
I have a ZTE Axon 7, running LineageOS 15.1 with TWRP recovery.
Today, my phone decided that it doesn't want to find my internal memory. If I open ES Explorer, it shows internal memory as 0.0 of 0.0. I can't access my photos through any media viewer. I can't access my downloads from my browser. I can't get to any of my files.
BUT, everything seems to work normally otherwise. My apps are still there, and they work. I can open the camera, and take a picture, but it doesn't save it. I can access the internet through my browser. I can check my email and get push notifications.
I rebooted my phone, put in my FDE password (fully expecting that it wouldn't work) and it booted right up. My text messages and call logs are all still there.
If I connect it to my computer via USB and change to MTP, my computer recognizes the phone, but Explorer says "This folder is empty".
It seems like some apps can see the data, but others can't. For example, I can see my text messages in NextSMS, but I can't back them up with SMS Backup and Restore.
Is there anything I can do short of wiping it and starting from scratch?
Edited to add followup questions: A) Could a factory reset work? B) If I have to reflash Lineage...how can I do that if I can't transfer anything to the device?
