Help using UOT Kitchen - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I was just wondering if it's possible to use the UOT Kitchen to get a transparent status bar.
I've used the kitchen with CM7 themes, and have never had an issue.
I'm running the stock 2.3.6 ROM, and I can't find anywhere on the site saying wether or not it's possible.
I tried by going throught the proper steps, and uploading the framework-res.apk and systemui.apk, and then flashing the zip the kitchen built me, but it changed nothing.
Anyone managed any level of success with a stock ROM?

Yes, I have used it before, I know this.
I think my problem is that transparency isn't supported in stock odexed ROMs, and that I need to deodex before it will work

[Theme/Rom Kinda] Deodexed CM 7.0.3 with transparent statusbar patch

So what i did was I deodexed the cyanogenmod 7.0.3 Stable Rom(witch is normaly odexed).
For the ones who wanne know what deodexed/odexed is look here (for some a nice thing to know)
Its not that I made a whole new rom here, all credit goes to the cyanogenmod team of course. It just took me some time google-ing how to deodex correctly.
Simply put this allows more theming to be done so you can have a transparent status bar if you use a theme like this and this (these are 2 of many) and apply them with the theme chooser app
Downloads;
CM 7.0.3 Rom Deodexed, you can also extract the deodexed apps and frameworks and replace them in your rom (7.0.3)
Patch, to allow to have the transparent status bar
Undo Patch, if you decide to keep the deodexed rom and want to undo the patch
If you want google apps (market etc.), just flash the gapps found on cyanogenmod site
I recommend you nandroid backup first before you start flashing, as normal wipe factory,... in Clockworkmod
If there are and problems etc, let me know
Awesome, I'll do it during the weekend.
I tried but end up with no status bar. I think it got the whole process right, I wiped factory first, then flashed the rom and then the patch.

hmm strange, didnt happen to me
did you flashed the rom and then directly flashed the patch, or did you booted up the rom first then went to recovery and flashed patch?
if not try flashing rom, boot up rom then flash patch
I got the status bar doing what you said, but transparency doesnt seem to work on my homescreens. I only have transparency when i go into apps, is this how it should work?
use this to setup your background, then you will have homescreen transparent statusbar

It won't work on the RC. I can give you a patch for nightly 153 if you like (it came out after the RC). I know it's a nightly, but I've been using it with no problems for weeks.

It's a good guide for theming a lot of things, making the status bar transparent is one of them

[Q] UOT Kitchen & CM7

I'm trying to change the status/top bar of a CM7 theme using UOT Kitchen. The first time I ever attempted this was last night. Followed the instructions step by step; everything was good. But when I flashed it, nothing changed.
My question is, when uploading files to UOT it says for GB Rom's upload the framework and system apk. For CM7 Roms just upload the theme apk i.e. Cyanbread. Seeing how CM7 is GB thats where I'm confused. Should I upload just the theme apk or the framework and system apks? Or should I upload them all?

I read somewhere else that UOT might not be updated yet for 2.3.5 Gingerbread like the latest AOSP roms are running.

I only theme out my framework-res.apk and my SystemUI.apk. The SystemUI.apk is the stock look that you get on Gingerbread without any modifications. If you unzip if with 7zip you'll see what I mean. I've never flashed it into a live/booted rom. I modify my files pngs mostly and let the kitchen do the hard work (the files I still don't understand), then replace the SystemUI.apk and the framework-res.apk into the CMupdate.zip file. There is probably a more preferable way to do it, but I don't switch themes a lot (and the theme chooser doesn't theme everything I need anyway)
I know this way will work as I've gotten my edits into these today/yesterday

[Q] Transparent status bar?

Is there a simple zip that I can flash? I've scoured everywhere and even cooked up something in the UOT Kitchen, but nothing has worked so far. I'm on the latest CM7 nightly.
Search for files regarding CM7 in general, and not just the galaxy s2. There are different mods that will work with the rom.

Here this has the transparent title bar PLUS
a lot of other mods..... download here: http://www.multiupload.com/INCNIG8HFO
Its always best to do a backup of your rom before flashing
any modifications.
Works great for me....

This should do the trick http://uot.dakra.lt/ You just upload the relevant files to your rom, works with everything, it takes you through everything.
ok i gave it a shot as i thought i failed i have grifs cyangen rom i used the kitchen clicked transparency in status bar, hdpi uploaded framework and systemui but no luck in transparant statusbar if i upload the 2 required files would someone be so kind?
oh forgot to add i rebooted into clockwork recovery mounted the phone then installed the zip file.
There are some mods in the themes and apps subforum which already prepares it for you

All things except lockscreen worked from the UOT kitchen.. but before doing kitchen use your own firmware framework files rather than attached ones ...
For transparent status bar ur launcher should support the transparency...
Btw golauncher and laucherpro doesnt support status bar transparency....

[Q] Percentage battery and wifi indicator

I have searched xda for a mod that will fit my stock ROM 2.3.5 (JJKJ1) with ninphetamine 2.1.3 Kerenl but couldn't find it.
I am looking for a the percentage battery indicator and wifi indicator (blue) in a mod, but of course it could be separated.
I couldn't find a mod that supports the above requiments.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried the UOT kitchen (Google and you will find it), you can make your own?

1. I read about UOT kitchen, and it says it support odexed ROM but what about the kernel that I have, does UOT kitchen support ninphetmine kernel ?
Because I don't want to get any boot loops.
2. In the UOT kitchen, File upload tab, what should I choose there, I have no idea.
Thx.
Please anyone ?
I really want to flash for that mod and have no idea which one supports ninphetmine 2.1.3 and all the questions above

Dude, I think that doesn't matter kernel do you have.
I have already use a Speedmod and Stock Kernel with UOT and i had no problem.
You will need just some files like twframework, framework-res and something like that.

Are you sure it doesn't matter ?
Because I don't want to be getting boot loops.
What are those files you mentioned twframework, framework-res and where are they located ?
Plus, in the File Upload tab what do I need to choose there at:
'Select flashable zip scripting'
'Flashing folders for system files'
'Patch9 autofix'
'ThemeChooser preview'
'Kitchen's settings (optional)'
Thank yolu
