I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 rooted.
How can you remove (permanently and with active mode sounds)
the sound of a screenshot?
I know that the sound can be removed silencing the phone,
but I want the screenshot sound does not feel even when the sounds are active.
I tried "local_prop" and "camera_apk modded" methods
but the screenshot sound is always present.
Help me please.
In the sound settings, turn the system volume all the way down & leave it there. I leave my system volume muted and never hear the screenshot sound or camera shutter when taking pictures.

I know this method. But I want turn off screenshot sound with all sounds on.
Is possible rename the sound file of the screenshot? Where is it and which is the name? (...so I can rename it with root explorer)
How to turn off the shutter sound on Camera Zoom FX?
I've renamed the system/media/ui/camera_click.ogg to cameraclick (no ogg)
So the sound shouldn't be played! So why isn't the shutter sound still exists on both stock camera & Camera Zoom FX? :'(
If you have Root Explorer you can "zip" the file for backup purposes and then delete the file from that location (system/media/ui). The zip file will be located in sdcard/SpeedSoftware/Zip.

I solved this by replacing the shutter sound with the key click sound. Just copy the file.

Hello ,
You can temporarily put the phone on mute by using the Android Notifications Bar and then clik the photo at any resolution.
There will be no shutter sound. This alternative can be used as a quick step for taking silent photos.
Do remember to turn the phone sound on from notifications bar.
cheers,
Umang
It work for me

Just rename System/media/ui/Shutter.ogg
or
repeat that file with you favorite sound (*.ogg)
samsung note 2.
I have moved all of the .ogg files from the system/media/ui folder related to the camera but the camcorder focus sound still persists.
So far I have moved (to my SdCard for safe keeping):
Auto_focus.ogg
Auto_focus_error.ogg
Cam_Start.ogg
Cam_Stop.ogg
camera_click.ogg
Camera_click_short.ogg
Camera_empty.ogg
camera_focus.ogg
Camera_timer.ogg
Shutter.ogg
Shutter_multiple.ogg
VideoRecord.ogg
Is there a sound in some other folder I'm missing? the focus sound doesn't play on the camera, only the camcorder.
Anybody?
go to your camera settings and turn your shutter sound off. Auto focus makes no noise and camera pictures doesn't either.
Edit: I see what you mean about the video focus making the noise. You can turn your volume down and itll stop making the noise.
I don't have a setting for turning the shutter sound off. I don't have a shutter sound anyway. I disabled it. But the focus sound is still on. I can't find the sound file.
Must be a feature on JB11. It turns off the camera but the video still makes the noise.
When I set my phone to vibrate the video focus stops making the noise.
So my GS2 sort of INISISTS on making noise when I use the camera. I have no option for disabling it in the menu... and it still has a sound when I'm in silent mode.
So I went into the system files and renamed every file that seemed related to the camera. That stopped the shutter noise... but there's still this beep before the shutter, and I've already renamed all the files, and I can't stop the beep.
Any help would be appreciated.
I tried renaming following sound files from /system/media/audio/ui
camera_click.ogg
camera_focus.ogg
VideoRecord.ogg
I could disable shutter/video-record sound.
But focus sound just before the shutter is not disabled.
If you can could you tell me how to disable it?
Regards,

For me the shutter sound toggle doubles as a focus sound toggle so when I disable shutter sound, the focus is also silenced. But in some countries mobile devices are not allowed to take pictures in complete silence because of privacy regulations, so the shutter sound at least remains. Does it still make the shutter sound if you put the tablet in silent mode?

Thank you for your reply.
Even if the silent mode, focus sound sounds.
I consider that the sound files is embedded in the camera apk like following device.

But this thread is for Samsung Galaxy Note 3,
I don't understand how to tweak for this tablet.
If the renaming method is not possible, you can use a workaround via the app "Tasker" (an invaluable tool anyway).
In Tasker you can make a profile that says "If the camera app is open, set device audio to 'Silent' (or 'Vibrate only')".

But he said that silent mode doesn't affect the fucos sound.
Can't be. When I put my tablet into silent mode via volume rocker (in the status bar the "vibration only" symbol appears), the camera remains absolutely silent.

Is your stock camera app also completely silent (no focus beep either) when the tablet volume is on, but shutter sound turned off in camera settings?
Yes, when I set shutter sound to "off" (seems to reset automatically to "on" when leaving camera app...) the camera is absolutely silent.

Well that option doesn't mute the focus sound for the OP, so that means he lives in one of those countries where mobile devices not allowed to photos silently (or he doesn't live in one of those countries but his tablet was made for use in them), so then indeed, putting the device in silent mode does not mute the camera.
I have the same problem, just traveling in Japan in a Japanese SIM card and i still have the focus sound after renamed the shutter ogg, anyone can fix this?
