Hello
Are there any official Samsung or unofficial HD videos that we can download to show off on our amazing SGS III ? All I have are the ones from SGS II, I think most of them are from Samsung.
I guess you can youtube 1080p on the PC such as trailers and download the video with an addon.

Hi,
on my galaxy tab 10.1v I can not play videos ( mp4,mkv or divx..) corectly. I mean it plays but it freezes for a second and then play on and freezes again... I tried many video players; even mobo player, but it's the same with all. But mp3 plays ok. Tab runs on Honeycomb 3.0.1
maybe with update on 3.1 will be better? Please any suggestions?
Thanks!

What H.264 variant is used in the MP4s? Our devices have issues with high and main profiles. Baseline profile H.264 is solid.
Is variable, but on samsung galaxy s and galaxy s 2 player which is included plays perfectly all formats even full hd ( mkv - music videos ). So why is on galaxy tab dificult to play videos smootly?

Simple. Samsung's GPU that is paired with Hummingbird processors is optimized for media and supports a lot of H.264 features not supported by any other mobile GPU. Nvidia's Tegra GPU is optimized for 3D and not as much for media.
Ok, I solve problem now with Handbrake. Full hd videos ( 1920x1080) convert to 1280x790 without losing quality and now plays just fine.
Yea, Tegra sucks at media play back, course IMO Nvidia sucks in general with there Shady business practices.
But Baseline with 2 Channel AAC Audio is the way to go, won't have any video play back problems that way.
Does anyone know if it's possible to rent HD movies on the Galaxy S2 and then output them in HD quality via the MHL cable via HDMI?
Google Video Rentals have just come to the UK and I'm keen to get an MHL cable if this can be done!
Thanks!
James
Android Market › Help articles › Movies › Watching Movies › Watching on your HDTV
It seems to be specifically for the Motorola Xoom, but I would guess the same applies for the SGS II.
No mention of quality/resolution of the movies though.
The only place I could see resolution mentioned was on Android Market › Help articles › Movies › Watching Movies › Watching on your computer
Change resolution
Adjust the video quality from 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p, and up by clicking on the button located on the toward the right side of the control bar.
Thank you!
Sadly, I don't see the option of HD purchases on the Galaxy S2, which is a shame.
I wonder if anyone in the UK with a Motorola Xoom can tell me if they see the HD option available...
Yay, I now see the HD option on the Android Market
Well, now the option has disappeared for all but a very few movies. Very annoying given that I've just paid out for the MHL cable. What's the point in out putting highdef, if Google's own apps don't support it?
Hi guys,
I'm confused. Haw can such a powerful and sophisticated device to have problem playing mp4 1080p videos. I was surprised when downloaded might videos from galaxy s2 to tab 10.1 and nothing happened when trying to watch them
i think u will need to download dice player... there's a certain profile.. if im not mistaken high profile that our tabs can't play but Sgs2 can play.
the resuslts are far better then any other player but unfortunately the video still is not smooth and crisp as it should be.
Hello,
I tried playing a video today and after a second from the beginning is freezing, not the video player (stock) but the video it self. If i pause the video and play it again it will play for another second and so on.
Video format: .AVI
Resolution: 1920x1080
Size: 52MB
I have Galaxy S2 ICS 4.0.3 not rooted
On GingerBread it was working but on ICS i doesn't seems to work.
Please help!
P.S. I have two Galaxy S2 and for both the video is freezing, tried alot of other videos but it didn't worked!
Thanks in advance!

If you are looking to play mkv files, there are plenty of those on the market
I don't think anyone would bother to spend the effort to port the player. Jus saying...

lol, its not the player, its the codecs you're looking for.
Try MX Player which came along with codecs, you will be happy !

Even if those players are there they will not give the perfection of hardware supported player
sent from my xperia neo v
MXplayer is the best one.....if u r looking to play 720p movies.....also try to overclock to 1.2ghz ....it will run smoothly.....1080p will not run though
MX Player and MX Player Codec (ARMv7) in software play .mkv files perfectly for me.
Use Mx Player with SW Decoding now u can play 720p Smoothly:laugh: aswell as 1080p with some glitches
Galaxy S3 and S2 has Multi-Core Hardware decoding Capability, so we can't port Stock S3/S2 player in Xperia Neo/V:silly:
