Hi all,
Iv got a Samsung Galaxy Mini (S5570) running gingerbread and i`m looking at using the social hub app instead of seperate apps for facebook, linkedin, Gmail.
Thing is iv added my facebook account and all it does is open a browser it doesnt display the feed in the app, and I cant add linkedin at all
Other websites say it should display the feed in the app, It just doesnt seem to work as claimed.
is this how it's supposed to be? or is there something wrong or is there a good alternative. I have searched online and there seems to be different version of the app.
Thanks

Hello,
I tried both official Myspace apps available on the android market and they are not working properly on my Defy which uses a stock rom improved.
There's Myspace and Myspace App, one is a native android app, the other is web fork but both are not relevant.
The one which is almost ok is Myspace (mobile) but the scrolling in the messages isn't working so I can't answer messages nor read them fully.
Any advice ?
Thanks
K
I use TweetDeck for my Facebook and Twitter feeds. According to their website it supports MySpace too.
Haven't got a MySpace account myself so I'm afraid I can't try it out for ya though.
Hoping to get my Defy delivered tommorrow and planning on de-blurring it as soon as I get it. Just wondering if anyone thinks that any of the stock blur apps are worth keeping? Won't need any of the social networking stuff but, for example the music player looks interesting...any suggestions? Thanks.
I personally like MOTOBLUR. It meshes facebook and your contacts together nicely.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
the music app , love the lyrics and they have some options like if you were to have on an ipod
Maybe the facebook app/widget? Or does there exist another free widget (market?) that would be better than the Motoblur one?
If you are on facebook the status updates for your mobiles contacts is pretty fun, also a good thing for me is the facebook date integration, for example I never remember peoples birthdays this is a god send!
for whatever reason, DO NOT remove google talk (talk). It helps you downlaod stuff off the android market because you have to login there in order to download something from market !

I have the Gmail v2.3.5 installed & it is working just fine.
Not sure but I seem to remember that you need to be rooted to install the blacked out version.

What do you mean by "blacked out" version? Pls explain in detail.
It's a modded version. Read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1191870&highlight=blacked
The OP was in fact referring to this modded version.
I also have 2.3.5 original installed in my unrooted SGS2 and of course this one works like a charm.

Baah! I saw the screen shots in that thread, and if the only difference between a "blacked out" gmail 2.3.5 and a normal gmail 2.3.5 is the inverted color of the background, then what's the fuss about? If you want black backround and grey text, then you already have that in Social Hub. Just access your gmail from Social Hub if you like the background to be black. What's the big deal
The hub is bloatware. It's buggy and less functional than the original app. I much prefer the white background gmail app than hub's email app, even considering the highest power drained by the white theme.
In addition, the original email app has push protocol that i like much, and better label/directory management!

I don't consider the Social Hub to be bloatware.....neither have I experienced any bugs in it. It's a useful tool for seeing all your email, sns & message streams in one place. Although I personally prefer other dedicated professional apps for my social networks, I use the Social Hub for all my various email accounts. It bifurcates the mails according to dates, which the gmail app does not.
Yes, apps like Yahoo finance, Readers Hub, Games Hub are definitely bloatware. To each his own. Cheers!
What I don't like of the email client of the Social hub is that it is the one included by default in android, which is not push type and every email I send with it, is wrongly reported by the client as being sent twice: the first correctly, and the second to a long list of duplicated addressees... In addition every email received is notified both in the hub and in the default email client, but clearing one notification does not automatically clear also the other so every email notification has to be cleared twice.
However I do reckon that's just my personal experience with it, so perhaps others more good than me at configuring it may not find it so bad.
Hey guys
i tried to freeze some unnecessary bloatware. and noticed my chrome to phone is not picking up any links i send from my pc. So thought maybe a techsavy member would be able to tell straight away before i do trial and error...or find out chrome to phone just is just dodgy.
i froze;
AP Mobile
digital dual clocks
emails
samsung hubs, accounts, aps, suggests
live wallpaper
software updater
news and weather
wifi sharing
yahoo finance

How stupid my phone just got the link now.
sorry for wasting anyones time :s
How do i delete this
Hi, I just upgraded my Galaxy S2 to ICS XLP7 a few days ago from Kies. However, I found that the SNS contact integration to Facebook and LinkedIn is missing. I used the Social Hubs app to sign in. Those contacts will not appear in the contacts app...
The phone is rooted using CF-root. When I go to Settings>Accounts and Sync>Facebook. It only has setting for Sync Calendar and Message.
I have tried to remove the account and re-add it to no avail...Please help! It's been driving me crazy because it worked smoothly in Gingerbread before.
Thank you in advance!
Same Here
I also recently updated to ICS in my Galaxy S2, And i found out Samsung had took the contacts SNS integration from the new update and put on Google talk status message on the contacts to whom you add the IM id.. This is insane.. Plan to go back to 2.3.6 GB.. Any options of adding status updates of Facebook to the contacts...
facebook integration gone.
its happened to me too..
Integration only with google plus now!!!
contacts - section is looking really bad, low clarity photos too
Guys Facebook sync has been removed in ICS by Google..
If you want you can use Hax Sync from the play store to sync your Facebook contacts..
