[Q] Writing speed on 3x4 keyboard - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I like to use the old-fashioned 3x4 samsung keyboard on my SG S3 when writting sms, but I have noticed that it is extremly slow when you need to use the same key for another letter. If I use my SG S2 It is much more faster to use the same key. Anybody know if it is possible to "change" the speed somewhere???????
Thanks

I would actually say thats it takes twice as long as on sgs s2. Anybody has the same isue with 3x4??

Please could someone help test the speed/delay when writting sms via the samsung 3x4 keyboard????

Nobody use the 3x4 keyboard for sms???????????????????

I use...but need to get my phone first
It arrives today..will try tonight..

Thanks Keep me updated about the speed please

Did try a little...yes it feels little slow..didn't find any setting for speeding it up though..
Will probably use smart keyboard pro..as I have it on my other phone running cm9..
Gonna test friends s2 how it feels tomorrow.
/H

Anybody able to write with a decent speed on 3x4 keyboard?

Best keyboard that supports Japanese text?

Hello everyone.
So recently the keyboard I used to use, GO Keyboard, added notification adds for porn apps in their latest update. It was a great keyboard; fast, accurate, and had a one-touch switch to go to Japanese text entry.
I am so indignant about their bait-and-switch BS though that I refuse to use any apps by that company any more.
Anybody have suggestions for a replacement keyboard? I tried the trial of smart keyboard but I don't like how it misses letters when typing fast.

Google Japanese Input beta. A little slow sometimes, but its pretty good.

well it does seem pretty good for japanese input, but the english side is a bit underwhelming. Guess Ill end up having to swap between two different keyboards after all.
any suggestions for the english side?

[Q] text messages

Just a quick question Im a proud owner of the s3 since wednesday and I am really happy with it. So much better than my old s2. The only problem is with text messages when using predictive I am unable to add new works, ie sware words lol ect ect. With my old s2 you can just add a new word while texting. Please can someone tell me how this is done on s3 as I have been through text settings and cant seem to find it.
Im new to this fourm so please excuse my noob question.
I am such a lemon! just tilt screen sideways and spell it yourself with the keyboard.
Try SwiftkeyX. It's the best keyboard Ive found so far for prediction.

[Q] Japanese keybored

Hello every one i am new to this section just recently traded my xperia x10 for a new s3 yay!!
Any way i am used to having 2 key bored sets i realise this is easily done however my standard UK Vodafone s3 does not have a Japanese key bored available is it possible to install one or some thing any advice would be great
I don't want to dive straight in to rooting and flashing this phone just yet but if any one knows of a stock ROM that has a nice key bored with Japanese and English supported that would be great
I did try searching but i could not find any related topics so please any advice would be great.
Thank you for all your advice in advance and i look forwarded to joining this new area.
Andy
Why your keys are bored? Nothing on tv or what?
Any way if you're looking for a Japanese keyboard try go keyboard, it's free.

Just search play store for "japanese keyboard" there are a few, I have used easy Japanese keyboard before to play around with.
Edit: you do need to know hiragana and katakana at least to use it, it's not like the MS IME on windows, just thought I would mention that.

I think the best keyboard might be multiling keyboard. You may have a try . It has lots of language inside

Thanks for the advice but i really like the Samsung keyboard so i was really hoping i could add the language to that.
also apologizes for the key bored bit I blame spell checker.
i will download one unless any one knows of a ROM that has one in the Samsung bit or a way to add a language i asume it must be possible as the phone is sold in japan.
Thanks for all your advice
I use the official Google Japanese IME, it works well. Othewise, Simeji Keyboard works good aswell.
Thank you very one for your help
I have settled on the official IME one looks ok but i am sad Samsung don't support Japanese but they do every other language
Thanks for the help if mod finds please close now

Yeah, no Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Persian...
But they have a lot of other languages. The Samsung IME is not bad though.
There is a Japanese language set available for the native Swype keyboard in the S3.
You just have to download it in the settings menu.
the thread is five months old, c'mon

[REQ] Awesome Note HD

Hi all
Im pretty amazed about non of you guys had not bring this matter up. I migrated from Galaxy Tab 7.7 and so far absolutely in love with this Tab S. But when it came across writing notes and organising them I have absolute difficulties finding one good app to do so other than Amazing Note HD by Brid
Do you guys have any other better app/apk out there that is available to substitute this? Not a big fan of evernote :crying:
Here is the original link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2273026
But i think its outdated version from the Galaxy Tab 7.7. I tried installing from the last apk but resolution is too small and any other updated version does the same.
Please if you guys could get this thing to work it would be awesome. And would be a great big help to this forum community :fingers-crossed:
Much appreciation.
its tooo outdated... even though the apps was great... i have to stop using it after 7.7. even the app maker stop updating it... i had try to use appsetting but still havent found the proper resolution to make it bigger... it always look small... kins of miss it anyway... ^_^
I think most people use evernote these days

OneNote if you want seamless cloud integration with your desktop. Text input lags a little using Android OneNote but perfectly acceptable for me. Thumb Keyboard works better than stock IMHO.

With the recent update to OneNote I have zero input lag
I wish the memo app present in the Galaxy S5 was available on the Tab S. Well, I can get the apk and install it but it won't sync with my Samsung account, which sucks.

S pen

Hi guys. Got the new tab s3 wifi with a keyboard case. Trying to figure out all the cool features. I am an owner of nore 10.1 2014 edition and a note 5. My question is, can this s pen act as the one of the note 5? Meaning for example recognise hand written numbers and covert to typed ones, same for text and/or shapes. Is it the s pen function or a software which can ge downloaded?

I havnt used the SPen that much yet, but I did install GOOGLE HANDWRITING INPUT APK - this can be used to covert hand written notes to typed text. I will try playing with the SPEN Later to see if I can do the same things I used to do on my Note 5 back when I had one - maybe someone else can share their experiences in the meantime - but like I said, if you need something now, try the GOOGLE Handing Writing apk, it works great.
Yes, converting hand-writing to text still works with this Pen

Samsung notes (I also have S Note installed but haven't played with it yet) along with most (all?) text input fields when you use your pen rather than the on-screen (or physical) keyboard
