[Q] Super-fine video mod for i777? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

Does anyone know if we can install the Super-Fine 1080p video mod (for 30Mbps/192/44.1) on the i777? Or does it only work on the i9100?

Post a link for it

Yes because all it is, is the camera apk by itsself
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA

I guess I'm just checking if the camera apks are cross compatible. I'm not sure why they wouldn't be, but I figured you'd need some kind of driver magic to record at different bit rates. - shrugs -.
Thanks!

Cant find anything using the search, sorry if there is already something.
When I upload video to youtube from the phone it is fine. As soon as I edit the video in Video Maker and upload it, it squashes it at the sides.

use video converters found in this thread and use it to resize:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263350
the thread is for different purpose (ignore that). use the softwares.
I had the same problem, I had to add yt:stretch=16:9 to the videos tags on youtube. It stretches it out but still gives a screwy preview image.
I found that this problem only occurs when exporting the video on 1280720. All other resolutions are fine. Hopefully Samsung will fix this problem.
Just tested with latest samsung firmware (2.3.4). Problem is still there, your fixes still work. I will use the 720x480 res fix.
Thanks.

[Q] Youtube video online streaming

Guys, i observed that when i play HD videos using youtube app or mobile version on the browser and usually if it's a long video it somewhat stutters.. Am i the only one experiencing this?
I am running on Hyperdroid 1.1.1 with stock kernel (the kernel that came with the custom ROM)..
Don't know if this has been asked before so please just leave your experience and no trolling or flaming etc..

It's 3am in the morning here and i need to sleep.. Will be back after a few hours.. For those who will answer you will receive my thanks and if there is a way to fix this you may share it as well.. Cheers!!!
P.S- Stuttering only happens when the video is HD and it doesnt appear to stutter if the video is not HD..

I've also noticed it but can't remember when I first started to see it. Would be good if someone more skilled could shed some light on the issue as its really distracting once you notice it.
Surely it can't be the phone itself as there are plenty of older phones capable of playing youtube vids just fine.
Stock KI8 BTW.
I'll just bump this thread so everyone can see it..

Anyone?

I have the same problem, posted in many forums about, but no one gives a solution for that. For me this problem is present since update from 2.3.3 above, and no rom, kernel or anything, solve that till now! Its a real shame that such a problem stayin undiscused, and doesn't get a proper atention!

I'm using Speedmod Kernel K2-18 test2 now, this is the only kernel, that gives me smooth playback of HD videos on Youtube. I don't know why, but guess something releated to the governor or scagualer. Try this kernel.

any custum roms with hardware decoding for divx, xvid for lg p500

Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
I suppose all custom ROMs based on a stock one should have it (unless the dev manages to break this functionality somehow).
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
Would you plz list some of the custom ROMs based on the stock one.
I am now having slimgen 1.6 and it doesn't support HW decoding for divx, which previously done greatly with my gingerbread 2.3.3

Come on, man!
If you have a fully functional brain and a browser supporting tabs, all you have to do is open a bunch of ROMs at once and check if they are based on any stock ROM (I assure you it is really easy).
Besides that, I'm not near a computer right now.

Well if you still need help, Optimus1 Origins 2.0 and Resurrection 2.0 are based are based on the stock rom.
You might want to head to the Optimus One Android Development section to look for other stock based roms

decoding
or you could get a 3rd party video player for your O1
i use moboplayer or mxplayer
Audio and video are not synced well in those mx players and so for me. the native divx codec (hardware decoding) do have fine performance.

I got list of some roms with Divx vod registration :
Hydrogen,open optimus etc.
But where is the source. I found most of the download links expired or file not found message.
Could anyone provide download links for open optimus or suggest some gb based roms which you find good.
Thanks in advance for your support..:

We had the video editting app from the S2 on here a while ago. . . let me see where it is. It does the tasks you listed, but its no Final Cut.
Edit: Here you go. Post #2 for the link and an instructional video.

Edit2: Oops, it won't install. PM me your email address and I will send you the one I have, and it works fine.

+1 for the Android Movie Studio. It sucks, but I still find it better than anything on the market. The Tablet UI is better than the Phone UI however. VidTrim is good if you just want to trim, extract screenshots or transcode (however it takes FOREVER to transcode). But honestly...I've stopped trying to edit videos on my phone and I'll just transfer the files to edit in Premiere on my PC.

Mod suggestion: picture in picture

I was messing around with my buddy galaxy s3 and I noticed they can do this picture in picture kind of thing where they can minimize the video and still use other functions on their phone. I was wondering if anyone can implement this mod in their room or even make it available for the EVO.

? you mean minimize a playing video and have it still play in the background? or be recording a video and then minimize while recording to do something else? im not quite sure what you are trying to get at here haha think you can find an example somewhere?
Watching video and minimize it

or maybe he means this? i can do this with my computer monitor but it requires 2 different sources for video. so i can have my computer video full screen (via a dvi connection) but then have lets say a xbox playing in a small corner at the top through a different cable such as hdmi. looks something like this

is that what you mean op?
just follow the link i posted on the from the market and you'll find the app that will let you do the video minimizing option...you can watch a video while texting or even browsing on the internet
HTC EVO LTE

No I believe he is talking about the "Pop-up Play" feature that the GS III introduced that lets you play a video, minimize it to do other stuff like text and browse while the video is still playing in a smaller "picture-in-picture" window like seen here. luisrod03 was also correct. Here is another app that let's you do the same thing but it isn't free like luisrod03's link.
Yes the app let me do what I was trying to do... I wanted to view a video while texting and doing things on the phone... Also when u tap on it it will go back to full screen but I do like that super app though

Moboplayer also does it

Mx player don't
Ask me about my ability to annoy complete strangers!
Multi window support would be better. Like windows.

Here's another option that sounds like it does what you're asking for.

Only catches are that it's $1.79 and I've never used it.
